My opinion is that their old stuff was way better.

Oh my. This going to be a succesful topic. You do realise that most users here consider Green Day to be the musical equivalent of AIDS. Right? Personally I never listened (of course I heard the ocasional song, but that's hardly listening) to them (their albums), neither old or new. I should sometimes, really. Oh, now that I think of it. Jesus of Suburbia (sp?) is a quality song IMO.

I enjoyed their older songs. I never realy saw them as anything serrious (obviously).

 

 

 

Hate the new album though... Not more so that it became imensly popular, but they complettly changed their style and tried to become more serrious.

Not to mention it doesn't answer either of the above questions, Green Day is the worst band possible you could mosh to.

I think they pretty much killed themselves with Boulevard of Broken Dreams. That must be up there for most over-rated/overplayed songs. I used to like their old music, but the new stuff sucks.

Only songs i like by them is Good Riddance, Basketcase and Jesus of Suburbia.

Define "old" vs. "new". As to me 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk (the ones I listened to in High school when they came out) are "old"...all the rest are "new"

i prefer their old much more. the new albulm is way to comercialised. they completley changed the style and now they have a wider audience! but are they losing the fans that started their carrer? :uhh:

In terms of songwriting, I say that American Idiot is, by far, their best album. Everything else was about sex, touching yourself, or being bored. Not that there's anything wrong with any of those subjects :thumbsup:

I hate GreenDay completely. Worst band ever IMO.

I don't really know what there old stuff is like, so I'd have to say I like there new stuff!
