saber_blade222
For all of you who are reading this, there is a 99% chance you have encountered this problem: how to play runescape without interfering with your school. I have been playing since 2002, since the time when you had to click the pickaxe, and click the rock... and do it over again if you fail. During my middle school years, i used to play EVERY DAY, and that really cut into my homework and i didn't do very well in school. I have been an on and off player, i didnt play freshman year, but i played the summer between freshman and sophomore year. I stopped at the end of the summer, and studied hard that year, and actually did very well, suprising myself and my parents. I started playing again that summer, and now comes the colossus that is junior year. I am taking 4 AP's and probably wont have time to play my precious runescape. Deep down, i really want to play, but i cant think of any ways where i can play and still do all my schoolwork. There are the obvious answers such as "play 1 hour a week on saturday", and i may still do that, but that 1 hour might turn into 2 hours, then 3 hours, then 5 hours, and i will start playing on weekdays, and... well you can see where this goes. The reason i am posting this is to collect ideas on ways to play runescape and still have time for school work. A good idea formulated in my mind was to not play runescape for 1 quarter, and see how my grades are. If they are satisfactory, by that time i would have fallen in the routine of school and would be able to find out when i would be able to play and when i wouldn't be able to, and go from there. If you are going to post anything that doesn't contribute to this thread, then please don't post at all. Currently i am mining rune to get a green mask (only a few more mil), so if i do decide to temporarily quit, by the time i get back i will have plenty of money stored in that mask. AniseCookies
Quite easy... Finish all homework, do all studying till I know it like the back of my hand. Then I may go on for about 30 mins. On weekends, I feel free to play though.
zaquierming
If you think it cuts into your school work and brings down your grades, just stay away from it, grades are much more important than RuneScape. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
darkmage099
I know how you feel. I'm a freshman in high school, and I had the same problem. Guess what i did? I QUIT \ For me, it wasn't runescape, it was my friends. That's why I stay active in forums like these. I would stay active in my clan forum but I was booted unfairly by a clan called Knights of Order (leader is Aoshi and Hiddel). Anyway, I suggest you don't play unless it's the summer. SCHOOL>RUNESCAPE. When you make millions one day, you can play runescape all you want. But for now, stick to school and go to college. Those are my plans. deadmeet1234
in my case i'm thinking about planning on doing a lot of fishing and cooking, or woodcutting...and while i'm plugging away at math problems, i can glance up every prob, make sure i'm not dieing, and get back to math problems :P (or likewise for other subjects) since those really take no attention at all

Rebdragon
I started playing again that summer, and now comes the colossus that is junior year. Wow, I've got the same problem, 4 AP's, Junior year in HS, and at a College Prep school (so this year is basically the same as a year at college, with less time than college). Though I'm getting bored with Runescape, so I don't have as big of a problem I suppose. My recommendation? Unless you're doing something Friday, that should be your main Runescape day (and maybe Saturday too, not as much maybe). You need that Friday to cool down from a hard week of school, so take a break on Friday and do your homework on Saturday and Sunday -obviously not leaving everything Sunday night-. My other reccomendations I suppose would be to get your homework done ASAP when you get home, with a light snack to go with it. It's better to play and hour of Runescape before bed and have finished 5 hours of homework than to not do Runescape at all (again, cool down), or worse, invert it and end up doing 5 hours of runescape with only an hour of homework before bed, and being forced to go well into the night with the other 4 hours :ohnoes: . Of course, once you get later into the year, I know this may be considered "bad", but find out which teacher(s) you can coast on. Obviously you don't coast with the (censored) teacher, or the one who always collects and throughly checks the homework, or is just flat out hard- probably with one of your non AP courses do the work, but don't go all out with it. Sure, you won't get a 100 in the class, but making cuts with one class can give you a little extra time to relax and recover from all the homework in your AP courses. Guess dats all I have to say. Smithy93
I do my homework on the bus, finish as most as I can, finish the rest at home, and then it's Runescape! http://hiscore.runescape.com/index_lite ... r=Smithy93
saber_blade222
Reb, we're basically the same person... except not really. I like your idea of doing 5 hours of homework then 1 hour of runescape. I'm also doing a fall sport so it may not work out in fall, but winter it may work. Your friday idea is good too, but im sure you like to go hang out with friends friday and saturday night if you can. I've also gotten a bit bored of runescape, but ive realized that having fun rather than mining my life away if more rewarding. After leesters dag kings for newbs (i was a newb) i became addicted to dking, even though i was only 88 combat and 76 mage, and i didnt care if i got a drop, it was a blast and thats really all ive been doing. nick44
You have it easy.. I have school, then football, then i usually play madden and go outside and play bball and football with my friends. Theres like no time for runescape, but most of the time you should be able to easily get your schoolwork done and then play, dont tell me you need from 3-9 to study and stuff, if you really wana do both i dont see why you couldnt get like 3 hours a day on runescape.. Adam007
Even I can't adhere to this, but physically force yourself away from the computer until you get your homework done. That way you won't procrastinate and you'll get much more efficiency and productivity out of a day after school. I usually go on the computer right when I get home from school and save my homework til later, just wasting time postponing it. I get everything done, I just get to sleep later than I should. It's just hard not getting lured by the computer and doing your homework first. If you can do that you'll be fine.

gonpost
Runescape becomes what it should be: entertainment when there is nothing else to do. I go to school, run cross country, come home and do all my homework, and then I can feel free to relax and play runescape. (A whole hour or two, but still, I have some free time). As far as weekends are concerned, Fridays are made for relaxation, and generally saturdays are too unless I'm completely swamped. When Sunday comes, I start my homework at about noon and finish sometime in the evening. I can then relax for a few hours before bed. :) Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind. primadog
i agree with others that you should stay away the computer, not just runescape, till your homework's done. You might want to consider only play runescape during the weekend. That way you can concentrate on classes on weekdays and not skim over homework. I also suggest avoid all things that leads to commitments in Runescape: Clans, TET, goals, race, etc. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
weasel
skool is definatly my priority, as much as i hate to admit it... being nice and young at a pretty useless year at skool, i have time to do all my homework, and have time to play a few hours of runescape every second maybe third day, everyday if it's a good week. for you i would recommend just work hard and use runescape as a reward for working hard, like "if i can do this homework today, then i'll play 1 hour of runescape" something along those lines -= weasel =- rsname: moosewalker ~ top 10000 player :Dfull qp - always willing to chat add me... Asdfgzxcvbo
Luckily, I told my mom to enforce this rule: play only at weekends and NOT weekdays. Now there were times that made me feel really sick (addiction detox FTW), but now that I look back at it, I thank my mom for standing her ground. Doraemon FTW! =)
