Wont Get Fooled Again - The Who

It was about the labour party in England but it can relate to many different revolutionairy changes gone sour.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

A song that nearly made me cry when I first listened to it.

The Great Below, by Nine Inch Nails.

I'd like to add that I nearly cried because it's a such and incredibly beautiful song...not necessarily sad.

Neil Youg - Rockin' in the free world

Bob Dylan - Knockin' on Heaven's Door (but that's due to remembering the great scenes from Peckinpah's PAT GARRETT & BILLY THE KID)

Bob Dylan - The Times, they are A-changin'

Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze

Queen + David Bowie - Under Preasure

Rainbow - Catch the Rainbow (Live from the On Stage album)

The Beatles - Hey Jude (lala, cliche night with How2PK!)

Tupac - Changes

The Doors - The End

Donald [bleep]en - Walk between the rain drops

Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer

Metallica - Nothing else matters (the S&M version of course)

Neil Young - My my, hey hey (out of the blue)

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

Radiohead - Pyramid Song

Robbie Williams - Angels

The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black (after full metal jacket!)

And, well, I don't really want to say it, because it is too cliche to be true. But John Lennon needs a mention with his imagine as well. Might as well mention Mr. Bojangles, doesn't matter who preforms it.

Haha, Bob Dylan is so bad in Pat Garett And Billy The Kid he's good and actually looks as if he belongs there.

I love that song that plays throughout the film too.

There's a number of classical pieces that make me thrilled with euphoria or sad as if there's no hope at all.

Clint Mansell's Lux Aeterna is one of those fantastic exhilarating masterpieces that sends shivers down my spine and makes me feel the blood run through my veines. Same goes for the Bolero of Ravel or the Peer Gynt suite of Grieg. Perfect music.

Songs that make me feel sad often are songs that remind me of my brother. The song Under the Sea from dEUS was played at his funeral and it always brings tears into my eyes. The rare moment I cry is always when I think of him. You feel very... empty when a person that's always been very close and that you don't expect to just vanish actually does leave you.

Bill Hicks[/url]":dhj2kan9]Since the one thing we can say about fundamental matter is, that it is vibrating. And since all vibrations are theoretically sound, then it is not unreasonable to suggest that the universe is music and should be perceived as such.

There are a few classical pieces that really do it for me as well.

Now We Are Free (from Gladiator) by Hans Zimmer, Libera Me by Leon is very powerful when the cello and full orchestra comes in. The Heart Asks Pleasure First by Michael Nyman is pretty moving as well. The Theme from the Mission is good as well, but some arrangements are better than others.

+1 with Lux Aeterna.

A few other songs that literally send chills down my spine:

Summoning - Land of the dead

Ensiferum - Guardians of Fate

Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem

Blind Guardian - Mordred's Song

Freternia - Dragonsong

Thin Lizzy - Black Rose

and most of all these two:

Sonata Arctica - Power of One

Avantasia - The Seven Angels

There's something about these two songs, it's almost spiritual. o_o At least for me.

"Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. It is about invoking a sense of wonder and magnitude that no other genre can depict."
