baron8000
Hello, and welcome to another exciting Behind the Scenes article. It's October already, and Diango and his fairies are beginning to wonder where the year has gone. In order to make enough toys ready for Christmas, Diango̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s shipped in as many raw materials as he can, including some of the wood from the haunted forest around Draynor Manor. What trouble can be caused by a few confused poltergeists? Will you be able to clean out the haunted workshop? Pick up your ghost-busting gear later on this month, and you might even earn yourself a spooky reward in this year's Halloween update. Also in October, Player-Owned Houses will get their first update since launch, with the all new costume room! Build magic wardrobes and treasure chests, and free up some space in the bank! Players will be able to store all their favourite random event costumes, special treasure trail outfits and even some of the odd little toys they've picked up on your travels over the years. More information will follow later this month. As well as all of your funky costumes, the POH addition will also be able to store one of our other releases this month... the awe inspiring ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅCapes of Achievement̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà

baron8000
Woohoo! Wonder how much strength would a Strength cape gives. But erm, how would they give boost to a 99 firemaker? duno but combine the two and the ability to throw flaming logs at macroers? now that would be the best update since, since um just since! Alex2828
The 99 capes sound awesome. And the wardrobe will save a lot of space. They sound cool as. Question though, will the f2p people be able to get f2p 99 capes? I think it would be a bit harsh if they didn't. Looks exciting. How long do you think 99 mining would take me? :P LOL Currently: Quit Ages Ago
007007008plp
The capes sound cool, might have to try get 99 in one or two of my skills. I will wait to see how they look though first.

I think it would be a bit harsh if they didn't. ^I think its fair for F2Pers to get these - they already can't get thieving capes, slayer capes, fletching capes, farming capes etc... Also, anyone who got a skill to 99 in F2P the whole time needs a bloomin' monument in their honour, so a cape is the least they can do... well, nothing is the least they can do, but you know what I meant :P
eveau6013
Sounds like a very good month, some changes that will actually have an effect on how we play (as opposed to, say, a bunch of new quests and a minigame that nobody really plays). Marco
Those Capes sound amazing : What an incentive to get 99 in a skill! And yeah, I'm sure they will be for F2p.

idunedain
The 99 capes sound awesome. And the wardrobe will save a lot of space. The capes are an amazing incentive to play more, good thinking Jagex ;) As for the wardrobe, I simply love the idea! 103 combat | 1M+ xp in each skill (lvl73) | 1800+ skill total | quest capeLevel 86 herblore, 85 farming
Umega
Omg, I hope the capes will be a subsitution for the fire cape for me. But a need a 99 skill, my 91 cooking is close... :-k No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Centuramage
It's already been uttered here, but I suppose there's no harm in reiterating: For some skills there is simply no point in attaining level 99. IE, mining, slayer. Finally, a blanket way to make level 99s seem less cumbersome and boring at say...level 95 (*grunts at his WC level*). A perfectly timed kick in the rump for me to woodcut some more ;)
drgnslyer_15
I think I remember seeing the cape idea on the runescape suggestions forum a month or two ago...if you go to the main forums i am sure you will find it in there still.. i saw it yesterday or friday wheni was lurkin on the main forums... a 99 fm cape sounds kinda weird i guess its cool though i'll only have 2 99 capes to start... :( range and fm are my only 99 atm attack wc fletching HP and cooking are soon to follow in those footsteps tho.. sounds like this month has some promise for updates RSN: drgnslyer15 15 skills 90+ - 10 skills 99 - 200m+ total exp
Doomster
As suggested though, while a boost to a 99 combat stat would be useful, what use would a boost to a 99 non-combat stat be? I suppose for the resource gathering skills, it could be faster, but what reward could a 99 smithing cape give?, maybe a few % chance to use no coal for an ore? Only other suggestion, would be to give the capes at 98 with a +1 level bost, though that would upset anyone with a real 99 level.
captainpoet
I'm curious as to how they plan on initiating the method of getting the capes to the players...the best solution would be have them talk to an NPC to get them. However, I wouldn't be suprised if they just put them in the player's inventory over the bank. So, I'm just saying when you logout and it's close to a day an update could happen, be sure to bank your phats or they might be deleted. Now only if I didn't vow not to play RS at college and change my pass lol...otherwise I'd be mage and HP training like a madman at pest control.
