sjiskebab5
Yesterday a BIG storm was all over Belgium, It was hailing ( size of golf balls ), Raining and Alot of wind. Just a basic storm I thought. 5 minutes ago I heard their were Tornado's in Belgium ( last one was like 40 years ago :XD: ), I wasn't really paying attention to the news and then I heard some guy say 'duffel' ( 2Km from where I live ). I watched the rest of the news and saw a tornado passed my house 500 mrs from where I live. I was shocked  It was a small tornado, But it still ruined a few houses and cars :ohnoes: . Anyone had something like this? Any Tornado stories ?

deloriagod
When I was young I was scared to death of tornados, but now that I'm older I'm usually the last one in the basement when the sirens go off.. I love to watch the clouds and try to find the tornado. Over the summer (maybe it was spring, I dunno..) there was a tornado that started to drop near my house. I watched it (of course) and luckily there was no damage to any property around me.. Now I've got to go pull my car in the garage (there's a weather alert and I don't need hail damage on my car :ohnoes: ) Internet Marketing For Newbies
frizoid
There were several tornadoes in my area a few weeks ago, they didn't do a huge amount of damage but it was a big suprise with us being in the centre of britain virtually. I was locked in a building with 40 screaming kids at the time that the tornado storm struck, it was sooooo not fun.
WutangFlu
as deloria said, i'd also be the one sitting out side watching the clouds waiting for it.. whenever there is weather like that it gives me this strange euphoric adrenalin rush... its amazing. deloriagod
Alrighty, I got my car pulled in (and grabbed some pizza : ) so it's time for another story.. Over the summer (I'm sure it was the summer this time) I was at a friends house and it started pouring outside. Just a moment before it was sunny and we were getting ready to go outside. So we decided it might be fun to go out in the rain. So we went out and ran around like little kids.. Then it started to hail.. Really hard.. The hail was hitting my friends trampoline and flying 15-20 feet back up into the air. So my friend grabbed his little sister and ran to the basement when the tornado sirens went off. I, on the other hand, stayed upstairs and watched the low clouds flying past.. Unfortunatly I never spotted a tornado but it was fun watching the hail :P Another story.. Ok, so when I was in 3rd grade I used to get up pretty early for school (mostly to watch cartoons). So one day I got up and it was pouring outside. My mom was watching the weather channel but I didn't figure anything was wrong. After a few minutes I heard a loud roaring noise and my neighbors tree (which was HUGE) fell and took out the power for most of the neighborhood. My mom quickly got everyone into the basement. When it was over we went upstairs and went outside. A few more trees had been taken down and we found out a tornado had passed by (only about 50 yards from our house). The only damage to our house was the powerlines were down and the gutters were damaged. Unforuntaly we still had school that day >.< Btw.. I live in Iowa, so I get my share of experience with tornados.. : Internet Marketing For Newbies
knives669
I live in Torando Alley. See the circle on the map above? ^_^ I live in that general area. So, we get our fair share of tornados. This is probably my freakiest tornado experience: I went to a store probably about 30 miles from my house. While my family and I were there shopping, my dad said that the weather was getting bad so we left and went home. We heard that there was a tornado in that town after we left, but we didn't think anything about it. We went to the same store the next day... and there was simply no more store there.
deloriagod
Personally, I would have loved to have been in that store. That would have been an amazing rush (and probably painful, but so much fun).. I have a thing for doing stupid stuff.. I figure I'll be killed by a tornado or a fire.. ixfd64
Actually, there are tornadoes in California, albeit rare. I live in California, and I have experienced a tornado. On May 4, 1998, two tornadoes touched down in the Bay Area, one in Los Altos and one in Sunnyvale (the Sunnyvale one was more severe). It was just after 5:00 PM, and just as my tutor was leaving, the wind became really strong. Some neighboring houses suffered serious damages. We didn't suffer that much, but a wooden beam broke our gas meter, casuing a deadly leak. Luckily, it didn't ignite. But man, it was scary... http://tornado.sfsu.edu/Geosciences/Sto ... yvale.html ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)

So, I wouldn't have liked to be in there. :P
Viktorkrum77
Tornado's in Belgium? Doesn't sound good for that sky resturaunt in Brussels. To be serious, I've never really heard much of storms in Europe. :-k They need to tell us more about storms over there on the bright side of the world. Me doing staff. killersushipunk
there was a tornado off the coast of brighton yesterday. Waaaaaaaaay off topic, but I live near NEW Brighton. On topic, tornados sound like freight trains. At school, we all thought it was a tornado drill, but no. I used to have a link to my school's project to provide fresh water to a Kenyan Village, but the sig police changed the link to say something, which, if followed, leads to an "ahem" adult website. Let me ask you. Which do you think is worse?

Futurama
Not a tornado, but on the subject of natural disasters, there's been an earthquake here and I live in central england! Only one we've ever had to my knowledge mind, was rocking stuff off of desks and apparently my bed was rocking back and forth. Slept right through it though! hahah There's been a tornado/hurricane or something down the road too, think it was in Moesley or Kings Heath. Trashed a few buildings and tore out some trees... Lol, No way a tornado can form here with all the trees :P I think you've got your facts wrong.. Have you ever seen what a tornado can do to a simple tree? It's like a bear stepping on a twig.. Tornadoes don't form around there because of the hills (though I'd never rule out the chance that they'll never happen). My great grandparents live in Branson, MO and it's all hills there and a tornado did form there in the spring/summer (yeah I don't remember the season again..)
