Just kind of following up on mad here, but I don't think I could actually take my own life. I'd be much too afraid.

I think I could do it.. But I'd have to know I was going to die fast and with no pain.. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to.. :ohnoes:

I would consider suicide as deicide. Then again, I love myself too much to do it, anyway.

Of course, if I did try, obviously I'd do it right the first time. Commence hip-thrusting!

I think the same as Nad.

Though if I did, I would find some sort of gas or something to intoxicate myself as to not cause horrible pain.

Bleh, once I get off my lazy bum and go to Imageshack, there will be a picture here.

Quite embarassing for a brother of mine..

Im the same way, I have good self control. But when I get mad, I get really mad. And if someone was hurting someone I love, i'd do almost anything, even shoot them.

^^^^^^^^^^

Exactly. If i was faced with someone at a gunpoint on my friends and family i would go into an extreme position when my body pulses up and i go beserk, so, yes iwould kill for someones life even if it results in prison .

p.s it feels like i just had steroids when i get beserk. i can even hurt my friends if it is someoe closer to them. i have been in a situation when there was a sht stirrer involved resulting me turning on my best friend

Hitting babies is fun, yay! *Dances* \:D/

Been out of the loop for 2 years, fill me in?

I think that I would be able to kill someone if I had to. I hope I'll never be in that situation though.

Short answer, yeah.

But only if they had a terminal disease or something, or really deserved it (mass murder or somethin)

If it was a normal person, then i doubt it

I think the core issue here is that basic survival instincts beat morals any day.

A consciencious vegetarian (i.e. one who doesn't eat meat on moral grounds) who has had no food for a month is not going to ignore a pile of freshly fried bacon. I'm willing to bet there are no people like that in places where famine is common.

Not to everyone. (I do totally agree with the bacon example though, such a human would be very dumb to die for it and it is not rational. Vegetarianism and other diets exist mostly if not only in wealthy countries where people have choice)

I am 100% positive I would give my own life to save an innocent human life or my family members. Not only that but I could die knowing my life had a definite purpose then... What can be more valuable? I do value my life and am completely happy with it, but if it means the life and death of several people, I'm willing to sacrifice it.

I don't think I could actually take my own life. I'd be much too afraid.

For selfish reasons, I couldn't do that either. Life is just too powerful of a force to just throw away. But, again, I would swallow the cyanide to save innocent human lives. Just my stance. I'm not entirely an altruist but if it comes to situations where other people's lives are threatened, I don't see it so necessary to survive myself if people weaker than me (especially children) will have no chance of life due to my choice.

Let me make an example. If I were to choose, would all the people on tip.it be killed so that I could survive, or I could take my own life and save the lives of the people posting here? I don't even see for a second how I'd hesitate. My life is not so precious, just one human life, compared to thousands of human lives who did nothing wrong to deserve death.

Right now, no. I don't even kill animals (except insects...pesky things).

But if I was a grunt in the jungle and was under fire, I would at least pull the trigger.

What if you were staring death in the face. And were in the postion of power. And it was either you save yourself and kill the other person, or you both die. What would you do?

This is a scenario through natural events, not human controlled situations.

1 is better than 0.

So my answer is yes.

i'd kill him only if they try to kill me, my family, or another loved one.

i'll be filled with grief for the rest of my life but i can live a little better knowing that im alive and that a very bad person is dead

Kill the other person and save myself. No reason to choose death when I have the power to live...

It's amazing I can even say that seeing as how depressed I am right now..

i would definently kill him i must be a very angry

person because i am always debating if i would take a life

and i watch the news and hear about all the evil and wish i was there

pulling the trigger just to stop a miniscule amount of evil

but u must always remember life is only temporary

good or evil u will die everyone will die even though

that sounds gothic its not its the truth

but then the razor sharp hair will rip holes in

your intestine's and you will die a painful death

I would to save myself, or anyone I valued more than the person who I was killing (example, I would kill the homicidal maniac rather than let him kill the pregant victim and unborn baby). I can absolutely not see why anyone would let this play out. I would still have nightmares about the incident, but it wouldn't be from my own killing, it would be what would have happened if I weren't there or if I didn't act.

In order to save someone I cared about more than the person I was going to shoot, yes. I'd have no qualms with doing that.

In a war... in the unlikely event that I was involved in a war (I would make every effort to be elsewhere), I would shoot someone who was trying to kill me, but I don't think I could shoot someone who wasn't actively doing something that I felt required that they get shot. To illustrate that a bit: if I was being shot at, then yes, I'd shoot / otherwise kill someone to stop it happening. I suppose I would (if I could think straight) try and do it without killing people if I could possibly do that (so shooting someone who was coming at me with a knife in some part of the body such that it didn't kill them) but I would be particularly bothered if they died. What I could NOT do, however, is actively seek people out with the purpose of killing them -- so I couldn't be an artillery person, or something like that.

This isn't because I have some sort of religious thing about not taking lives -- just because I think it's a hugely serious thing to do, and, as it can hardly be undone, should be avoided when possible.

I could, and most certainly would, take another life, with no regrets. It would of course, have to be a situation in which the other person had done something I felt deserving of such actions. Any damages to me, my family and loved ones, or my friends could constitute such. In a war, I would definitely be the guy hunting people down. There are people right now that, if it were legal, I would happily go kill.

Maybe I'm just a little crazy... who knows?

Kill or be killed. Thinking for any period of time will get you killed, or give people a good chance to kill you. If you just shoot to disarm, then the person still has 3 more limbs to kill you with, and taking those three more shots to disable them really sets you back, because you're

1. wasting ammo

2. giving the enemy time to attack you while you're distracted.

If it came to war, the only people are my squad members and myself. And higher commanding officers.
