US Food Law Bans Vegemite

Sharper

Recommended Posts

Perhaps now that the US has banned liquids, T-shirts that contain Arabic characters, Vegemite amongst other things, perhaps they might be so kind to ban obnoxious American tourists from polluting the world...

Lol at one of the comments...

In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

Why would they ban vegemite?

Have they not tasted it on fresh bread on a Sunday morning?

What is the world coming to.....

A little story about vegemite-

Whenever an American or anyone comes to Australia we tell them to try Vegemite. We say to bring out the taste you have to layer it on really thick.....which you are not supposed to do if you want your tastebuds to live

The Aussie version of Marmite

http://rcarchives.com/marmite.htm

Marmite is possibly even more powerful than vegemite - Always used to dilute Marmite 50:50 with margarine while spreading, but I can take Vegemite spreaded neat.

As the adverts say, you either love it or you hate it - I like marmirte or Vegemite, but hate the slightest trace of mustard.

I never tried vegemite nor did it look like something I would like. The ban doesn't really affect me, though I suppose there are those who actually like it and are probably pissed about this.

Hmm.. I think it's about time we start selling this stuff like we do drugs :-k

Yep, this kind of laws are exactly what prompt civil disobedience. A few bored people at some government department decided they need to feel important, and they take away something tons of kids enjoy because it contains something "that is only allowed to be included in bread".

I don't eat this stuff often, maybe have done so twice in my life, but I'd still order this online or from the "black market" if it meant a lot to me. Sad law.

They better also ban fertiliser then, my chemistry teacher taught us how to turn that into an explosive.

You can make tons of household items into explosives, and get the guides to do it right off the interwebs.

Anyways, I've never had it, never even heard of it. Still, I don't like the law because it is restricting trade.
