I usually listen to real Music, while playing. But when I am doing quests, or the rare occasion I play with everything on. makes gameplay a little more interesting. As well as first login after the applet loads. The only way you can kill the login music is with the mute controls in your chosen OS... In my case, that's windows. So I just look for a "Midi"/"SW Synth" volume control and mute that only. I then unmute afterwards to hear in-game music. Someone else said that they couldn't hear the music and thought it was because they were on a mac. I'm on a mac aswell, (macintosh power!) and I cannot hear it.
