Mashour2
OK, Imagine you work for months, probably up to a year, of hard, non-stop work. Fishing lobbies/sharks, cutting yews/mages, whateverÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ. to get a shiny penny in your bank. So shiny in fact, that it is worth a Santa Hat, or even a Phat. You wear that baby with pride, brag to all your friends and most of the general public. You are high-class. Rich, the person you dreamed of being ever since you were fresh off of Tutorial Island and didnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know the first thing about anything. You put it back in your bank for the night, give it a little kiss (you just love it that much) and head to bed. You sleep nicely, thinking of the Phat and how proud you are of all that sincere, hard work you did. You wake up next morning, eat breakfast, brush your teeth, and log onto RuneScape. Dalcyte
well it's good except it might be hard to implement having no player ever see it. Instead of some random place, have a box accept give it to a banker and to get it back you have to answer your recovery questions one or two of them. Problem is with this is, you could forget where it is lol  EDIT: Just to let u know, there are 729 combinations for a bank pin, and every time you enter wrong, you have to wait before you enter it again. Up to a half an hour. The only way they can get at it is just remaining on your account for a week, which is hard. Simply just make sure u don't have a keylogger and don't go to suspicous websites to avoid this. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
ThurinEthir
Another idea is to require answering recovery questions in order to change your password. But your idea is pretty good too. Dalcyte's modification of it makes it a lot better, and maybe you can store more than one item. 1packer
Has anyone actually been hacked with a PIN? I think they are pretty safe as is, maybe give a box to a banker or have a spot in your bank you can protect with your recovery questions, but the box anywhere is way too complicated
Brinner
if i hacked someone and missed his phat in his bank id kick my self in the baseballs :wall: anyway the pins seem pretty safe as it is..
D. V. Devnull
I support Mashour2/3z44's idea. Having a 'safety deposit box' that you can hide in any location you choose would be a perfect idea, as it would provide perfect protection against 'special items' loss. The only person who would know where the box is would be the true account owner. This could also be used like a recovery question too, when any person really thinks about it. I'm glad someone finally thought of this! The only tweak I could suggest would be to have the equivalent of 5 bank slots in it (No more than this!) and not just 1... ~Mr. D. V. oreocookie987
What happens if you forget where the box is? Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.
D. V. Devnull
What happens if you forget where the box is? I don't think anyone would forget the location of a box like that. It is too important to lose. But as a catch-all, if someone did lose the location of their box, there could be something equivalent to triggering recovery questions at a bank to tele it back into your inventory at any time should you forget the location of it. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... comedyguy
Well, if you got on someone's account, technically you could just roam ALL over RuneScape looking for the box.... few problems with it: What if you leave it in a members spot and become f2p? What if you forget where it is? What if you leave it in a spot like the wilderness by accident, or what if the spot you leave it in is space needed to add monsters and quest NPCs to the game? Just a few issues with it. It does SEEM like a good idea, just needs some tweaking. 122 F2P combat

Uula
...there are 729 combinations for a bank pin Explain to me where you got that number from... You have to choose 4 individual numbers ranging from 0 to 9 (10 options per number). 10^4 is 10,000 possible combinations Although many of them, such as 9999 are not possible because they would be 'too easy to guess' :-k #-o Anyway... this would be cracked by any decent keylogger exactly the same way as the bank pin. The keylogger takes a screenshot for every click you do on there... so when you go to your spot, right click on the box, and drop it... This screenshot will be sent to the person in charge of the keylogger. And they will look through all the images they got in hope of something like that. The only good thing would be a pin, and when you hover your mouse over a number, all of the numbers are hidden. Although it is possible that some keyloggers actually have screen recorders... I don't know.
nomar04
i like this idea. But what if a squirrel finds the box, and runs away with it. that wouldn't be too good. then he could chew it open and wear your blue party hat. that would make one popular squirrel. Baezal
So you file an Account Recovery. You enter all of the info, as quickly as humanly possible. It is sent off to Jagex, and you patiently wait their reply. It seems like days, yearsÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ Until eventually youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve recovered your file. Jagex has built in something that let's you recover your password immediately. It's called recovery questions. :-w Unless the guy was running a macro to stay on for 7 days, then he wouldn't be able to get into your bank.
