The way the Internet works, the physical distance to a game-world is not always the best indication of how a good a connection you will get to it. This is because some Internet routes are higher capacity than others and sometimes the route your data takes isn't what you expect and it goes via somewhere more distant first! What all this means is even if there is a game-world in the same city as you, in some cases a city a little further away can actually give less lag! Therefore naming our game-worlds with exact city names is misleading as it makes exact location seem more important than it really is. We have therefore relabelled our game-world locations to give better visibility on which are best for you to choose from. The numbers after each location are to distinguish between different facilities in the same area of the world. If one particular facility is causing lag for you it's easy to see which ones you could try instead. We have also moved some of our game-worlds to Finland to improve our European coverage. There are still the same number of free and members only worlds as before. November 20, 200619 yr well I think that this is a really good idea. I could hear the collective sigh of disappointment going round though, as it was not hunter being released! However, if they did this tweaking at the same time, or after, hunting was released, then noone would bother reading it. It will make me much more aware of which worlds lag the most for me, I might even have to reconsider changing my 'home' world from w71! Having said all that though, every world will lag when this new skill comes out! There wont be enough rabbits to go round lol! November 20, 200619 yr I still don't understand numbering all the servers of an area. To me they have just added some numbers on an area, it doesn't seem to mean anything. :-s I'm still sticking with a world that is good for me. (w99 ftw) :) No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Lets say you try US West 1...it doesnt work very good for you...so instead you should try US West 2....if that doesn't work any better...try US West 3...If that one also doesn't work...try a different US server... It really doesn't make a difference, they just renamed it so it wasn't very misleading.

It really doesn't make a difference, they just renamed it so it wasn't very misleading. Close, but i think it means more sort of this... You try England 2. It lags. You try another England 2. It doesn't lag. If a world lags, when you are in the world select page again, choose a world in the same country with the smae number. This should help. Moving to new account, subtle_rune. November 20, 200619 yr To be honest the names of the servers mean nothing. Just find a world that has good responses for you. For example, I live in the UK, but normally use the Dutch servers as they lag far less, for me, than the UK servers.
