RUNE DOESN'T LOOK GOOD ANYMORE...

 

 

 

You gotta be kidding! Rune stuff looks rather awesome! I'll admit, it ain't SherWood Dungeon or WoW, but for a medieval-variety web game with its' own twists, they did a nice job on improving rune item look and form in RS2 between the time it came out, and when RSC originally existed. :thumbsup:

Actually when I played back then I enjoyed the shinyness of the armor compared to now, it looks so pretty, plus you automatically had a 6-pack too!

I remember a couple months after I joined in like Sept. 01 I was down in the dwarven mines and some guy said he would trade me an addy chain for my mith plate, well the trades back then werent very secure, there was no 2nd trade screen. He ended up switching it to an iron chain, boy was I ever pissed about that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It happened again a few months later someone said they would trade me a rune chain for my addy plate, but that time I caught it and he logged out like the little scammer he was.

Also Runescape classic wasn't always like the way he described I've been around in rs1, I was there when they dropped scythes (I didn't get one which was really irritating), and yes I know my pitiful stats don't show this. Anway when I played rs1 the pking and combat system was almost the same as it is now. The only major difference was all spells and all ranged attacks looked alike (a blue flying dot for mage a green one for ranged) also if you maged or ranged something and they attacked you back then you'd automataically attack them back with melee there was no auto ranged and magic, also no runecarfting. I'm telling you this because this is what the combat system would be like if you went to rs classic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anway I just realised something, he has lvl 1 runecrafting and yet he has a ton of runes in his bank, where did he get all thosre runes if he didn't make them?

The updates killed the game for the classic players imo. and rune looked better then than now. I wish there was a way to transfer all my stuff/stats over into classic when I become a member, I really miss it a lot.

I wanna know something: Did Tip.It ever interview 3___Hit___U or Kar_Na_Vor the greatest 1 DEF Pure and only 1 DEF Pure to date to have 99 ATK, STR, and MAGIC. He also has 85 RANGED and 97 HP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If Tip.It never intervied these guys, could you please interview them? I'd want both but if I had to pick one I'd want Kar_Na_Vor since he isn't well known, and because of that the false rumors that B_R_A_V_3_S is the best 1 DEF Pure get spread around.

omg im sure i remember you and always wondering how the hell you got up that high score table so darn fast, i was always slow at leveing coz i got distracted and was new to the whole thing :S, and yes it has changed alot i remember most of what you said, and the disk of returning in your bank i think i saw?? very old school, and dont quit instead why dont u show the people u can teach an old dog new tricks and knock those new kids off the tops of the table once more!

Ahh, I loved that interview. More so then the Zezima and n0valyfe one. Its really interesting to hear accounts and pictures from the old days when runescape started, and to see how much "different" it has become.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If only runescape wasn't sold to miniclip and stayed like it was before it, that would be a nice change :D

good i miss pking with evil and good magic... :( makes me sad when i think about it, and the story of robin hood2, he was the best and a good friend...too many good friends lost in the rs world they all vanish

i played rsc after rs2 came out after a long time i got into the main game and asked a fellow player if he could spare a few coins to a new player he traded and gave me 1k if i tried this in rs2 i would drown in a sea of lols and n00bs that shows how good rs2 is

Nice artical. I started right after the pking whereever you want thing was taken out, so i dont know what that was like. He is definatley right about the community though, and how much funner pking was, back then at most you only needed 2-3 friends to come with you, nowadays people have groups of 30 people. Exactly, i dont know why jagex thinks they are making the game better by updating it every week, if someone wants to take a couple months off they come back and theres 3 new sets of armor and 13 quests for them to do. I remember i quit a while ago and when i came back i saw people in barrows armor, skeletal armor, robin hood hats etc. which i have never seen before, imagine how i felt

when you people are talking about jagex's game in such a negative way you are just making it worse. Instead of saying "oh rs2 sucks compared to rsc" try saying "rs2 is very good in liklyness of skills and many things to do, but it could be improved to make it as good a classic in community, pking, and such". It is not what Jagex makes in this game, it is what we make of this game.

Good interview, I played in 2001 ( joined just after they updated good and evil magic, prayer, fishing, Pk and Npk.) The way he explained his emotions about RuneScape in the Good'ol days were exactly how I feel about it today.

I started a little while after he did but also took a long absence from the game. This article brought back a lot of memories and reminded me of the reasons why I started. I remember looking up to BlueRose (one of the first if not the first to 99 smithing) and wanting to get that some day. Considering the fact that my smithing level is still only 74 I wonder what happened to that dream? I guess that's what happens when I only play off and on.

No there is no "automatic account deletion thingy". I took a two and a half year break myself and came back to a lot of changes (and people calling me a noob because I didn't know where things were or how things worked now) and my account was still active. They had transfered all my stats and bank items to RS2 and I had to get used to a whole new system. Luckily I had a green and red halloween mask that I kept for the last year or so and sold awhile ago. I now wish I'd have kept it since I have decent money-making skills and I got those masks for free from a friend.

Didn't you see the picture from his best pk ever? He had a lot of runes from that. Either that or it was fun to buy runes in the shop and sell them for twice the price back in the day.

Nice article :) I think you quit a few months after i started playing. I was pretty much on my own back then, I was just walking around and training whatever i felt like didnt check the highscore much since i was a noob :)

lol this makes me really want to come back to rs! I don't have a clue why but ya, I'll come back in a few years at least - very inspirational tho! lol. :P Anyways ya I remember some of RSC.. loved that game!!

Meh, 99 really didn't mean anything. The combat system was completely corrupt. Good times though for sure.
