Kill_Life
Hello all people, Virusses, crashes, "I had pics on my other computer", "I lost them all". We have all seen them before, those words and sentences. This will discuss your safety of Runescape and Pictures! The big question is: Are you safe with your pictures and Runescape-account? Losing pics is the least, but it's still something wich isn't fun at all. Now, losing stuff on your Runescape-account, or even losing your account, that's worse! Scanners, Firewalls, Bank-Pins, Back-ups... Do you even have any of these? An easy thing to protect your stuff is: Bank-Pin. Most people have this I think. But is it enough? If your account get's stolen, it has no effect, since you can removeit in 7 days maximum... Do you have scanners and other things that keep your computer safe. Do you scan frequently? People must really do this a lot more! I don't visit dangerous sites! No problem for me! Keep on dreaming boy!! Now, you mustn't get all crazy for this, but when you scan, some people will be surprised... When you visit a site, the site won't say in big letters: "This contains keyloggers and other virusses, gotcha!" Tough most sites are safe, always be carefull! Most people trust sites to much in my opinion. You are playing with your account... And not only your account, everything that happens on your computer! I beg you people, scan frequently. But if you don't, and hope it will go fine. Hey, no problem, ain't my computer. Also, because you don't visit dangerous sites... Most likely you aren't the only on using your computer and surfing the Internet? Now, for the Pictures. Losing them isn't that a biggy, the memory stays. Tough, losing them is very annoying. Always fun to look at. Just put them on a CD. Atleast that's what I did. My computer can crash, Pictures will remain. Unless my room burn down, wich I hope will never happen. Runescape Safety, Runescape Safety... A very big deal! What do you to keep your computer safe? Do you even keep it safe? Is your Runescape account safe? Know people who aren't safe, freak about safety? (Some kid in my class scanned his computer once, over 400 virusses isn't nothing!) Tell about it, and do something about it. (Also please be aware of the new Msn-Virus, just want to say this, cause it's really hard to remove!! And it spreads like hell!!) ~Kill Life, trying to be as safe as possible. Not becauseI want, because I must! (No, not from my parents or something, lol.) Umega
The only 2 runescape sites I visit is Tip.It and RuneScape it's self. : I'm too scared to visit other sites. :uhh: No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
Dalcyte
The only 2 runescape sites I visit is Tip.It and RuneScape it's self. : I'm too scared to visit other sites. :uhh: +1 i think it's stupid to go to any other runescape sites. My brother does go to bad sites occasionally unknowingly, but usually i run a spyware doctor scan, it p0wns spyware and viruses, like did u know the imageshack runs a type of spyware called elite bar? anyway, if u want to know if a site is bad, ask someone else or go to this site, it's a site run by macafee, not necessarly the best anti-virus protection, but it will let you know if a site is bad. I usually just type in a domain name and see what it says about it. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
Dago
Hehe, all of you windows users have to worry about this stuff... Macintosh has got da powa. I'm not saying that windows is all bad, just I think its funny how you have to worry about this stuff, all the time. Edit: Kill_Life, I think your kinda overreacting. You can't worry about everything all the time or else you'll go crazy. If you worry about dying everyday, then why are you living at all?
cloud_nz23
The comp I use has mcafee and it has never had a problem with these things, and firefox blocks ads so I cant whine. Even when I was using an obsolete windows computer RS never caused any problems. Common sense prevails. Btw, is this general f2p chat? Sounds more like a rant to me.. :?: <~[ FLAME_ON!! ]~>on/off RSplayer since 2000
Brandon_N
There's street smart, then there's computer smart. I'd say I'm both. That's really a long post though :wall: The answer is, I scan daily, and am careful about the kind of files I accept. - Brandon PS: I've learned the hard-way by loosing two computers. icecube
Let's see, I consider myself pretty safe on this computer. Though I don't really care about the sites I go to, unless it's blatantly a scamming/phishin site, or contains a trojan/spyware. I scan every other day, have active firewalls and change my password on RS rather frequently. Haven't been hacked once, nor have I ever found a keylogger on my computer. alkatmsu
Hehe, all of you windows users have to worry about this stuff... Macintosh has got da powa. I'm not saying that windows is all bad, just I think its funny how you have to worry about this stuff, all the time. Not so much. I have AVG Antivirus (free), use the Windows firewall (free), Opera for my browser (free), and I never get any popups, viruses, spyware, etc. I use AdAware (free... catching my trend here?) to scan for cookies and stuff once in a while. Just don't open or install anything stupid and you never will. Set that stuff up once, and you never have to worry about it again.
oreocookie987
The only Runescape related sites I use are the main page, Tip.It, and then my GES Forums and the OOC Boards. I also have Adaware SE which I run weekly on my computer for a full scan. I also have my entire hardrive backed up. I think thats pretty safe : Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian. Dago
I just find it strange how some of you actually have to scan your computer now and then. I go almost everywhere (well, not everywhere) and I have never had a problem. Never had a problem with viruses, password scams, or pop-ups. My computer doesn't even tell me that there is a virus around, because there is no virus that exists on macintosh (its true you know).
