well i done the quest and it gathers iron arrows..im wondering is it anygood and what does the upgrade does and what does everyone else thing about it? is it good? is it even good to bother with?

well the upgraded version makes steel

 

 

 

currently 1 get a steel arrow in my quiver ever so ofter ( moving around increases rate) i also have gotten steel knive and steel dart this way, but those seem to be at a lot mroe random rate and shouldnt be counted on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

this back pack is awsome for a lot of thing... pretty much everything except pking you can even train range with like a crystal bow and as you run around youll gain iron\steel arrows you can use later( or sell even) this makes agility and a lot of long distance running activites extra money makers( rcing anyone?)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

in short this is a plan awsome little extra that you should have equiped unless you really need a better alternative( using this for barrows insted of god cape would be really pushing it and i dont think it would be worth it lol)

heres the plot in a nutshell

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

your mission... gather 2 undead chickens: one to be used as bed fluff and the other to be used in a reward for getting chicken number 1

 

 

 

after some running around and more item gathering and bad puns and anoyances you get, in essence, an undead chicken in a backpack that uses a maget to find arrow heads then makes arrows and puts them into your quiver.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

more you walk around the "faster" you get arrows, currently ive gotten about 300 steel arrows 1 steel knive and a steel dart just from doing what i normaly do while having it equiped

The attractor doesn't work if you have an axe or pick equipped or in your inventory... the metal ruins the magnetic attraction, likewise weapons (other than ranged) and metal armour. And you need to be on the move for it to work so combat, mining, woodcutting are out. Agility and runecrafting would be good, thieving, farming, hunting not too bad. Other things like collecting herblore seconds, picking and spinning flax etc are also good.

I was using rune so possibly not.

its quite good but u would have to walk around ALOT to gain enough arrows to sell easily like...1k

only chest armor stops it from collecting metal, because the chest plate/chain wraps around to your back where the thing is loctated, and is closest to the device.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

btw +4 ranged cape is a good rangers cape. i was hoping the usage of steel arrows armor the device would encourage it to be a better collector, but i dont think it is.

It worked fine for dragon weapons, with a wc axe, just they really aren't counted as metal.

I think it is deffenitly worth it. And I'm very pleased about the newest quest rewards anyway. :mrgreen: (balloon travelling, herb patch without disease, rabbit foot amulet and now also this amazing device :D )

Certainly does... doing that at Lunar Isle now.

How do you upgrade it? Can you just equip it and go do stuff you usually do, and get free arrows and things? I really didn't get a clue about what some people talked, I haven't done quest, you know... #-o

So has anyone done any averages yet of how many arrows are collected? I really like this item so far, it is making me wanting to do it now.

i think it's good..no doubt about it, especially for skilling =D>

I love it, I'm saving up to train range. To give an idea of the spawn rate: while running around the patches to farm trees, I gathered 45 steel arrows. (In approx half an hour).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Only problem is, I might never use them. I use mith arrows right now because my range is so low and I get frustrated with steel arrows. After that, I was going to move on to the crystal bow...
