..If they seriously introduce Texas hold'em (preferably no-limit) with bettable Runescape GP, even if it's just for users verifiably over 18, I will love RS and come back from years of retirement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And oh, nevermind the violence, killing and murder quests in RuneScape. Gambling ruins the world! It's just a game, get over it. And I'd seriously come back for that update.

No house in Texas Hold'em, lol. You play against other players which means Jagex has no advantage, somebody must always win (and it can't be the dealer because he doesn't play). Unless there is a GP fee to play the games.

i couldnt imagine jagex intrducing casinoes and such it would make the game less medieval for them

How about more people go gambling, more money drain from the economy, better economy, more stable prices? Barrow armor going up in price, yews and other raw materials going up in price.

Agreed. I've always liked the whole medieval aspect of Runescape. With recent updates (the whole balloon form of transportation :shock: ), I feel as if it's already fading. I'd hate to see it completely kick the bucket with modern-day gambling :shock: :-k

um...if I remember correctly., one of the major ways for soldiers to pass the time was to play card games. also people bet on different things such as chess...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

my idea on it sis they add mroe games to games room(3 games for how big the game room is :wall: and allow people to bid money(1k-100k limit) against whoever they play against. would draw more people there and bring back a bit of fun to runescape besides killing stuff and training stuff.

But when you think about it, it would/could be a big money drain. If there were 32 people in a tourny, and they lasted abou 10 minutes.. then that's what, 19.2m drained from one touney an hour? If there were a lot of tournaments going on at the same time, it'd drain huge amounts of cash.

Considering there is no REAL LIFE money involved in the betting ( the monthly fee for members doesn't count since its not part of the gambling ). I doubt there'd be a need for an age restriction.

They shouldn't have all out gambling because it would probably promote the players to gamble in real life. Theres two problems to that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. A lot of Runescape players are too young to gamble in real life and could result in bad behavior.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Adults could gamble and loose all their money and have to cancel their Runescape membership.
