unknownmasterofnothing
I joined a little late in the 1st boards I think. I remember everyone emailing for scapeboard back without success. A lot of people didn't reregister on forum.tip.it.
Viktorkrum77
There were a bunch of cool people who've dropped out of sight since then :( Yeah, tons of people have gone. BlueTear
At its peak it was one of the best forums ever, I was lucky enough to be active through the entire time period of it and it was great. Everyone knew eachother and mods werent as strict as they were now because the mods were actually peoples friends and it was a better atmosphere Ah yes, the ever elusive Good Old Days. I swear, water was probably more wet as well. People come and people go, and have been doing so since early 2001. Heck, just look through the memberslist of this particular incarnation of the tip.it forums and you'll see tons of familiar faces that just aren't around anymore. It's always that way with internet - and real life to a certain extent, but at least then you have some form of geographic connection so you can run into old friends at the mall or somesuch - and it's going to be for quite a while yet. You can mourn old friends, or get to know new unique individuals. After all, an everyone-knows-everyone atmosphere hardly needs a specific set of individuals? edit: Hah, found this on Rae's avatar: Patient 2424, reporting for service and treatment. -This message was deviously brought to you by:

speedofsound
I only wish I could say I am one of the oldies, sadley I am only a product of 2006. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you." Mr_Putter
I remember scapeboard clearly, there were so many accounts then, but somehow not as much spam. Like, thousands of accounts with <10 posts, making it look like our forum was huge. Now there are a lot of new people, and a lot more pointless spam. However, everything looks better when you look back on it; you'd be kidding yourself to say we didn't have a lot of loserish posts on scapeboard. vmser
"STEEL" corperation? [what the heck]? "Founded by STEEL Corporation Inc. Dmonik, BlueRose13x, Lightning, Starlude, Xentia, Kibble, Rodrigo, DOC IRON 9, Sir Beachy, Stud6900, Hitman X and Silverion" Could be considered as somewhat of a clan I guess. In the original stages of the game there was no equipment beyond steel, I believe the steel plate was once set at 99 smithing... Since they combined a few top miners and smithers in the same 'clan' they just kept the name I guess. bluerose13x would indeed be one of the top smiths, so was dmonik at one point, kimble/hitman x were high level miners, .. From a quick look at the list Id even say thats what eventually turned into Wanderers? As for the .it discussion: http://www.tip.it is registered to Silverion, who lives in Trieste, Italy. Korla
Funny how the only ones who knew about Silverion being italian are the ARENAScapers :) We rock. Aah, scapeboard, and the.dk3 board...that's when AS was created, right? Cause that's about the time I joined...I really have nothing to say, other than that BlueTear is SO right, lets not bury ourselves in the good old days eeh? The domain is also used to host other websites such as an online store, and used to have fan pages for Dark ago of camelot and so (3 games in total) Yeah - smithing steel was a super big deal back then. You had to be an extremely high level to smith steel anything. It was also more difficult to raise your smithing level, as well. When they redid the smithing tables, the entire game and its strategy changed significantly! So back then, the STEEL coalition or whatever was highly regarded and kind of feared. Also, since there were no item banks back then, and you could PK anywhere (unless you were NPK) (there was no Wilderness), there was much more of an intimidation and awe of high level players, I'd say. Also, when tip.it was created, the game was small enough that word spread around fairly easily. The game came out in January, and tip.it came out in February or March, right? I'm not sure, I didn't start playing until that March, but I feel like tip.it was already around when I did. And when I started playing, there were only a few hundred people online and playing at any given time. Everybody hug and spread the love :D

Lightning
Yep i'm still around :) i had to laugh at some of the posts here hehe. Tip.it history is a confusing one really unless you been around for a very long time. if i remeber correctly tipit/runescape started the saem week rs was released, as i meet silverion early the following week and asked me to join him here as tip.it is now that how we use to be except for 2 other fansites, daoc and ac. The fourms got shut down due to lack of monies and so we only had the site. I made a choice to open new fourms at the same time Ruby made ones else where, cause quite a mess for a little while. anyways, forums were opened at proboards (horried fourms, couldn't stand them myself but was as a stop gap) as i knew silverion was going to be away for sometime, so i tryed to make the best i could. I dropped proboards, tryed a few other ones and ended up at dk3. Most sites wouldn't take us on cause of our bandwidth, so was left with little choice unless i wanted to take out a server myself and which i couldn't afford at the time. So dk3 it was, the first boards got hacked. The second grew fairly well but not without their problems (some were serious and users were informed) most remember those days. Then finely the day came when i lost my temper with dk3 after months of promises etc, that i finally got hold of silverion and we decided to try again on tip.it server. so here we are now. The old sites were taken off mainly cause silverion did not have the staff or the time to play the games and so couldn't keep them uptodate. However we do still have plans in the near future i hope to extend tip.it once again. This will happen i hope once i find a game i like to play and silverion likes and is also in either alpha or beta stage. preferly a free playing game as well, though these days thats hard to come by so we will proably have to make exceptions there. I didn't post on scapeboard, but I used to troll a bit I think. I'm pretty sure I bought a mask set from you back on RSC for 1mil? I remember getting my first mil then buying a mask set in hopes of it going up over halloween, and it didn't, so I sold it shortly before rs2 came out I believe. Was that you that sold it to me? I also remember showing my mask set off to Duke Freedom in Al-Kahrid bank.. I think :-s However we do still have plans in the near future i hope to extend tip.it once again.
