Unhealthy is one thing, but hard drugs are often highly addictive and can lead to people turning to crime to fuel their habits. That's the danger in my opinion. What may start off as a pastime at home that doesn't harm others could potentially lead to something that drives crime and does harm others.

Yep, alot of the youngsters on this board will cross their heart never to smoke. Hell, we all did at that age. I guess thats a good thing, too.

As stated earlier in the thread, I only smoke water pipes, and only at the local "hookah bars" once or twice a week as a social thing. I think its a reasonable trade-off to hang out with all of your friends to suffer through a few puffs, only in moderation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You're quite dumb. More and more kids every day in high school smoke more than ADULTS to probally. I'm saying this from first hand experience. I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's your choice if you want to smoke, why whine about it? :?

I rarely smoke. When I go out with friends and they all light a sigarette, I'll take one too. No to look cool, just for having a good time with my friends. Im not affected by the addiction, so I can smoke 10-20 in one evening but then be clean for a couple of months.

Exactly the point I was trying to make earlier. I'm not promoting underage smoking at all, because noone should do it, but just having ONE with your buddies isn't going to kill you. Its when you start to get careless and get addicted that the problems start.

I personally don't belive smoking is too harmful in the short term but in the long term is can do some nasty things. I dont smoke mainly because i dont see how being high is so good and everyone acts like its so much fun. If i where to smoke i would prolbly choose weed since there isnt a chance of getting addicted like other things. Also drugs does not make crimes (well maybe it depends how you put it). For example if someone has a lot of weed or maybe is growing then it could lead to violence since it is so expensive because of it not being legal and grown/sold everywhere.

I tried that when I was young, with bubble pipes lol, it was fun. But it's much less cool with real tobacco. I don't smoke. I can only vaguely see the purpose of smoking if you're ALREADY addicted. I've seen what it does to people, and have seen extremely strong people have difficulty with it. I know people who although they havnt smoked once in years who have occasional thirsts. I dont think its worth it.
