December 26, 200619 yr I once heard that the reason why ranger boots keep rising in price is because of all the pures that are created.... But where are the ranger pures? I didn't think that range pures were that common, so why are all the pures training ranged? :uhh:
December 26, 200619 yr I tend to see a ton of range pures, a lot of melee pures, and medium or so mage pures. Range pures I see a ton in the duel arena and Wilderness, of course....But I see them like crazy. [Admin Edit: No naming names in a negative light]
December 26, 200619 yr I've been wondering! I remember when Rangers were 600k.. Shoulda got like 20 at 'em while I could of :x Back to the subject.. I havn't seen many pure rangers, I usually see Mage, Rune, or just Main Pk'ers now-a-days. They're probably loads of them I don't see. :-w
December 26, 200619 yr Melee pures still use Black D hide because it has good defence. Thus they need 70 range thus they need ranger boots.
December 26, 200619 yr Most pures train range so they can get mage defence from black dragon hide armour, and while they train range, they get ranger boots/ robin hat for the bonuses, and as a status symbol, to show that they aren't some poor little newbie. I see it a lot when I train range on my pure. Thats also why most pures have trimmed mage robes. December 26, 200619 yr Author Yeah, I am in pest control every day, and I see some pures ranging, but most people don't use it to PK, so why is there a shortage of ranger boots? Why don't they sell them once they're done with them?
December 26, 200619 yr I don't ranger boots/robin hood hats raised in price because of the pures. I'd say it's because, with the release of PC, most people training combat-related skills use that instead of killing monsters. Therefore, not as many people do Treasure Trails, meaning there are less rewards, meaning there are less ranger boots/robin hood hats to go around, so the prices rose. I doubt they would go up just because of pures. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
December 26, 200619 yr It's just the short amount and with the overall growing population of runescape not to mention that new TT items just came out reducing your chances of the older items. It's not exactly the pures' fault, more just the population.
December 26, 200619 yr That's part of why they continue rising, but really why they have gone from 500k 4-6 months ago to 1.4m is becase Jagex has released two new batches of TT items making them drop more rarely. I wouldn't be surprised if ranger set went to 6-7m in the next month or two.

I was just making a guess :) My mistake. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
December 26, 200619 yr I think it's because they keep getting rarer from a treasure trail clues. I personally think they shouldn't have raised. 600K was reasonable, but over million? They don't even have any bonus over +50. I really miss then they were 600K, I will never sell them again until they change back to 600K, which I doubt will happen. EDIT: Sorry didn't read correctly. I think some pures are rich.
December 26, 200619 yr I just see lots of pures, regardless of style, wearing the hat and boots, probably because they look very nice.
December 26, 200619 yr I see lots of those ranger pures at fire giants in the waterfall cave training. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
December 26, 200619 yr I see lots of those ranger pures at fire giants in the waterfall cave training. Are you sure they are pures? Last time I checked you need to get past some high level monsters during the quest.

December 26, 200619 yr The reason for the price increase is because of the newly added items. With a larger list of possible items, the chance of getting ranger boots from a clue is drastically smaller. Since the new "coif" has been added, the robin hood price was offset, and not affected much. Since no new item for ranging boots was added, the ranger boots took a hit. They will probably continue to raise in price due to the rarity. A circus in Runescape?? Oh my. REMEMBER RUNESCAPE KARMA! Be a nice player, and nice things will come back to you.I'm back, add me if you deleted me. :)
December 26, 200619 yr Ranger Boots are cool but 1.2mil is crazy when you can get snakeskin but has a little bit less. Supposly they rose too because they seem to be a status symbol to pure rangers vice versa with pure mages who wear wiz trim or gold. But may I ask a same thing why are Wizard Boots (Lvl 1-2 Clue) also raising? I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
December 26, 200619 yr Its all about supply and demand. and you ask about ranger pures..ill tell you. At lower combat levels, range and magic are ALOT more effective than melee, since they hit higher, and are more accurate for the persons combat level, say they are level 60, a melee pre could hit like..15 every 10 hits or something with melee, but a ranger/mage pure could hit constant 20's with magic and range at this level, and against people with <60 hp, that is very good, but once they get thier conbat level up, they will train melee as range is less effective at higher combat. December 26, 200619 yr Not true, range pures that have 99 range and 40 def own. 94 magic with that makes one of the best pures ever :S. well today at 11:30 am 14 years ago i was born.. wo0t!!!At 11:30 you should start holding your head underwater wo0t!!!Stop acting such a moron.
December 26, 200619 yr My personal theory was: Because of the new rewards, the change of getting the old rewards have derceased hugely (sp?). You remember the new items quite a while ago? Another thing was, the amount of people training range at high level (and so can use every boots to their advantaget) have inceased a lot, but there haven't been such an grow of amount of people who "power clue". So supply and demand etc. But this obvioulsy can be totally wrong . When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+

December 26, 200619 yr I've been wondering this for a while myself, and it seems as many people put it, it's the new TT rewards that have been released. Slightly offtopic but... Why is Guthans rising in price?
