ddaanniiellh Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 I was reading old news from the Runescape site and was reading about before they were releasing Runescape in 3D, and there were many things that they wrote about, but in the end never used. I searched, but never really found any posts like this before. Here are some of them: 13 February 2003 - The biggest update ever... Things like bank-to-bank trading, multi-player combat (e.g. multiple people against one dragon), and rare weapons with special moves. Excited? You should be! I'm assuming this mean you can trade between different players banks, but correct me if i'm wrong. This was never used. 31 March 2004 - Upcoming RuneScape updates New features & skills Treasure hunt mini-game with a variety of rewards, including some new rare items. Summoning spells - summon skeletons, demons, etc...! A quest journal for you to read and recap what point you are up to in each quest. No more coming back to a quest after a break, and wondering what you are supposed to do next. More random events, to give more variety, and lots of chances to win unexpected rewards. More pets and followers with different properties and abilities. Special organised game events on holidays. Many new monsters such as Orcs, Lizardmen and more. In game versions of our boardgames such as chess and draughts. ... Clan support, to allow you to optionally form your own clans with your friends. The summoning spells were scratched in the end Are there lizardmen (I really want there to be :D )? Clan support never really happened, even there are clans, but theres nothing really supporting them on the Runescape site. Jagex has promised a lot of things, although many took more than a year before it came out, do you think all they promise will be done? There are several others, such as updating Varrok (at least it doesn't look like they did), that also never occurred, that they promised more recently, do you think they will still happen? Kewl_Sabre Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 I'd argue against the clan support - team capes that are P2P only don't help much with the majority of clan wars being F2P. Same issue with POH's. They're improvements, but I wouldn't call them outright clan support. Mementh Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 Bank to bank trading was to deal with the issue of noting and was fixed with notes for everything summoning.. they still need to work on it :) Clan supports coming.. esp with the new chat options they say they are working on they still need MORE PETS The following statement is true. We have many clues of summoning coming up, and we already had the variety of monsters quadruple (even more) since rsc, and they dont neccesarily have to be lizard men. Might encourage me to play on my "main" a bit more. i know the age issue is not gonna happen.. at least not for people like me they did not start keeping good records till members came out.. but i started in may/june of 01.... Reguarding the names.. they have a sticky widget.. they can't change the name because its linked to the account name for billing they have to find a way to remove that... or move the billing name from the account name.. :( The following statement is true.
