honeo
This week I just bought a cannon and cannon balls. I am all pumped up because I have never used a cannon before and my intentions were to get fast range xp. So I went to my favorite place to train, rock crabs. Not to my surprise, the place was flooded with people. A few people say hello, or hi to me and I say hello back of course. As I set up my cannon I ask them how they are doing or how their day is going. Immidiately they see the cannon and they say.... "bad now." I am like... alright. People through-out my session come up to me and say, "Cannon Noob", or things along those lines. Am I really a noob for using a cannon? Common Phrases Used: (With my responses) 1. Cannon Noob! - Alright. 2. Why don't you world switch? - Why don't you world switch. 3. You are being rude, you are screwing up everyone's xp. - I have a right to fast range xp, you can world switch if you would like. 4. Take it down just for a second please. - (Sometimes I do for a few moments.) Why? You know I am just going to put it back up sooner than later. 5. Use knives/bow/arrows. - Cannon xp is much faster. Those are the top 5 responses for using a cannon. Why can't I use a cannon without being a noob? Is it really noobish to use a cannon? I personally don't believe so, what does everyone think? Trojann2
You bought it, Use it, It's their fault for not wanting to be more effciant and getting levels faster. Now, If you just walk up and Plant it down while they were there first. That's rude. But, If you found an empty world, and they come and call you those things. They are purely just wanting to pick a fight. Aresgodowar
not your fault they cant either afford a cannon or think its too noobish to use one. to further piz them off run around the area to attract more crabs :D or you could just use trojans amazing range spot. Rebdragon
Funny thing is, they can steal the monster back before the cannon gets around. Free 30 on the monster before you attack it  . WolfhunterXZ
Don't listen to them, they're either 1) Jealous because they can't afford to buy one or buy cannonballs or afford the time to make their own cannonballs. or 2) Lazy idiots, I like the cannon, it's fast range xp, cept I'm not using one right now, PC is even faster :P lol Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
Mamong
I've got no problem with cannons, especially on slayer tasks as there are heaps of monsters, but for something like rock crabs, if a bunch of people are ALREADY there and training and you plonk a cannon right in the middle of where they are training, thats a bit rude. :shame: [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]

CRAIGMEANIE
how much xp can you receive from a cannon on average with 2k c balls? Because i always wanted one to get 70 range
tomdavies90
how much xp can you receive from a cannon on average with 2k c balls? Because i always wanted one to get 70 range i think it's like 2.5 exp per 1 hit so you hit average of bout 15, so lets say 30exp per one so for 2k thats 60k exp....not that good, i don't see why everyone loves cannons...for slayer, yes for training no...if you wanna train range fast go fire giants they are much better exp and you lose no money... what is even worse than this is people who use cannons in single combat areas....that is noobie, all they are doing is taking up all the spawns and confusing themselves because they get attack by one, try to hit it then get attacked by another try to hit etc Sig by me.... xana
the thing is you can use a lot of cannon balls fast geting a lot of xp or something like that By 'fittest' do you mean 'most selfish brat with the fastest internet connection?'
flipantfish
Do what I did with my cannon. Go to a non-English speaking world that was really empty, head off to dags (no-one there), set your cannon up and away you go. If anyone comes and gives you grief, who cares you can't understand them anyway. A wise man once said "Never drink on an empty stomach and never post with an empty head"
Intse
When the person using the cannon completly ignores the other people and just ruins their training i would consider it noobish.Though you can actually use cannon without annoying other people and get even better xp  by just switching worlds.. Yeah i use cannon during slayer but i actually bother to switch and search for an empty world.. Reason why cannon users have a bad rep is because very few actually bother to consider with others and switch.

I also switch to find an empty world, I do think that it is pretty rude to plonk down a cannon in a really populated spot. This is most annoying on the lesser demon spots in karamja as they are always busy. However, you should not feel ashamed of cannoning, its good slayer and range xp, dont worry about the people who call you noob, they are most likely jealous Best Barrows Chest: guth skirt, dh helm, dh axe, racks, gp (23/08/06); best tt reward: robin, guthix helm, guthix legs, nats, rune legs

Not going to hop all day when im going to be called a noob no matter what. Michael
You've done the quest and earnt the right to use the cannon, and if you're already training with the cannon before the people that complain then they should be the ones hopping. DarkDude
Going to a server with people already there then setting up a cannon is a "noobish" thing to do. When I used cannon at the Enclave I had to switch to find an empty world. Occasionaly If I saw 2 worlds with 1 person in them each I'd ask if one of them wouldn't mind changing. Back then you can change instantly so it wasn't much of a problem and they were happy to do it most of the time.

Make mine a third vote for "you can, but that's really rude and lazy of you to not hop a little to find a less than populated world." I'd bet dollars to donuts that you like doing it in a popular world, annoying people, thinking you can "show off" to those that don't have one. Does doing that make you a 'noob'? Well, I don't use that word. But it does make you the kind of rude, anti-social person I'd never want to be around.

Before choosing a world I try to pick an Isolated world on the list, and go there. I do not show off my cannon, there is nothing to show off. 3/10 times I will go to a world and there is a cannon already there. I am just using it for the xp. Not to make everyone mad and be rude.
