February 17, 200719 yr Whip is only expensive because we made it expensive, so you can't really categorize items by their price and compare them. Whip has a bad special to balance out it's amazing attack bonuses, just like how it doesn't have a strength training option. I honestly don't see the point of this thread. It's quite useful in Castle Wars and other situations.
February 17, 200719 yr most people would use the spec against monsters not for the energy but for the damage, which still is pretty poor. thats why some people use the dds spec instead of the whip spec, even against monsters

Jagex didn't make the weapon and say it should be worth 2M. Thats why the alch price is quite low. Us players have set the price for the abby whip. [Tip.It Mod][Retired][Add your Steam name here!]

Could be just me though :wall: ah but you are being too technical. you have only looked at numbers. with a dd and u spec. thats 8 hits opposed to an abby whip's 4 however if you keep getting 0/0 rather than an abby's 20-30 dmg because your missing your target, hmm lets see here, thats ~100 dmg for the whip and for the dd, half miss and the other half would be half dmg, so ~25 dmg, not 30 times... nowhere close, but i'd still take the aby whip* *just a senario, obviously this doesnt happen much... especcially the higher lvled u goi
February 17, 200719 yr The only application I can see for the whip spec is in cwars. Everywhere else, the DDS is superior. People don't seem to get that Jagex is not going to keep improving stuff forever (or at least shouldn't), because it upsets the balance of the game. I am vividly annoyed by people yelling for weapons and armor with level 80 skill requirements. One, it would make Barrows absolutely obselete, and two, it just makes the game too easy. People generally don't like games with overpowered weapons tbh... Now the case of the whip special still may not be as extreme as that, can you imagine what the wilderness would be like if whips had a spec as good as the DDS?
