Well for starters, i have absolutely no idea where to get it done. Also, i wouldn't make a special appointment or travel for an hour to get into York/Hull just to get it done either.

Basically, i can't be arsed, and the whole impracticality of the whole affair puts me off it too.

But i do like getting injections, they make me feel hard :P

nope, I hate needles. it drives me crazy and im not old enough. plus, it hurts

Yes, though living away from home has stopped me doing so for a while (too apathetic to look for local centres). It's never done me any harm -- or hurt, for that matter.

Once, when completing the form to check whether I'm eligible to donate, I got a bit previous, and just ticked "no" on all the answers, knowing that nothing had changed since the last time I gave. ...however, I didn't realize that one of the questions started "to be filled in by women donors only". I got a bit of a funny look from the guy who checked over the form, and he had to get someone to come and write something on it, then I had to initial it and date it. That was rather embarrassing. Other than that, though, I've had no negative experiences giving blood. In fact, it's great: they're all really kind when I go, and they almost FORCE me to eat biscuits and drink tea.

I've given three times. It's one of those things that's selfish not to do (I guess a fear of needles is a legitimate excuse) as long as you are a healthy person. I don't do it every time I can, only at convenience (when they are at my school, work, whatever). I was at a hospital a few months ago and I saw first hand how often they use donated blood on patients. Even the slightest loss of blood and they will get a pint from the refrigerator. It just reinforced my reasons to donate.

I haven't yet wsimply because I'm not old enough but when I am I probably will.

I don't know I'm getting punk'd or something and by explaining this the joke's on me... Does everyone know that your blood regenerates itself? We're not talking about a kidney here.

I love giving blood. I've done it 5-6 times, but the problem is that I have a reaction to the needles. Namely I pass out. I've begun to inform the nurses of this and some of them are nice enough, upon my request, to just leave the needle in and let me continue giving while I'm out. The first few times it scarred me pretty badly because I wasn't expecting to pass out, but now I'm used to it and sometimes I even enjoy the feeling of having no idea where I am and how I got there after waking up. Lol

I would, but I can't. You need to be 17 I guess, and I'm only 16.

Why wouldn't you unless you had some type of disease that travels in the blood stream or something?

Not sure if this is true, but I heard that homosexual males can't/aren't supposed to give blood due to their tendency to get HIV easier.

Is this true?

I'm doing it tomorrow. I'll admit that I'm a little nervous. I'm a little scared since I've never given that much before.

Really? ^_^ Good luck! I'm sure you'll do fine!

Well......

I got rejected. I guess I sort of failed giving blood. I had a fever of 99.6 (felt pretty much fine except for a little sniffles that I usually have anyway all winter) and the lady told me I couldn't do it that day. A little bit embarrassing but I understand. She told me that the next person to receive it would be getting whatever virus/bacteria I have.

I don't think so. I thought if you pass out it's not a good idea to keep on taking out blood...

Needles scare the hell out of me.

I would give blood, but I just can't be around needles

How do you suggest they get your blood then?

I've only seen the blood truck come once a year, and when it does I'm unaware of that happening till day of, our teachers don't even let us out to donate blood, grrr.

I just got to give blood, my bloodgroup is - AB, its extrodinairy rare, so I'd say people can pretty much use my blood. I'm only 14 atm tough, but I will give blood :).

I'd donate when I'm older but right now. I'm anaemic (curse me for not eating vegetables)

Ultra Unholy,

Hearted Machine...

I don't foresee doing it. Also, I'm years to young.

i'm too young but i plan to donate regularly when im old enough (maybe once a month?). hey like the phrase, treat others the way you want to be treated. i give others my blood and one day i might need theirs  im not afraid of needles because its just a millimeter poke in your arm or maybe less.

I've donated blood once and plan to do it again as soon as possible. :D

Can I have some? :D
