hipyhop00
This is just another topic about high levels that are "stuck up and snobbish". I want to hear peoples opinions on the topic so everyone post your thoughts. Im as sort of high level and reply most of the time when asked for directions or something like that but when you dont and people just keep asking and asking and asking i just keep on going with what im doing. Not because im to good for them but just because i finally got into a confortable position and cannot be bothered to move my left arm to use they keyboard, if its something i want but also to confortable to move ill open up onscreen keyboard and type on that. This situation is only for pointless questions when people dont need help. e.g. "what your str, whats your atk, whats you def, whats your hp, whats your prayer, whats your range, whats your mage" Question on hand is that if someone asks you something, is it snobbish to not answer them because you cant be bothered? Also post your examples of when this has happend to you, on either end of the question
antonwhy
Do you think we ever got help? We found other low levels to help us... and became friends. There are reasons for sites like tip.it, its to help lower level players. Its the cycle of rs life. Also, how do u describe directions in rs Wondering what to do with life ..... ValaraZ
I usually answer to directions and stuff but if someone asks my levels i tell them to use hi-scores, been like that ever since rsc. Sick and tired of people that judge you by your str lvl. My best example is from a few weeks back, i was doing something in a bank, quite possibly herblroing when this lvl 34orso walks by and says: 34: valazar Don't know who this valazar is, but i know it's not me. 34: valazar ^^ 34: valaraz me: yes? 34: do you know where is location x? me: yes, it's in blah blah blah. 34: do you have d long i can buy? 34: DO YOU?!?!?!?!#%=?!#%=!#%? me: no i don't. 34: do you have junk in your bank i could have? At this point i've decided to hop worlds since this conversation would go on untill that poor kids' mom fores him off the computer. Once i even added the person after a conversation like this and what did i get? Begging and pleeing how rich i am and cool and how poor he is. So to sum it up, yes, i am a stuckup high level, to some that is. Beg from me and i will be stuck up, be nice and i won't be. Their choice really. Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. jessy87
because i finally got into a confortable position and cannot be bothered to move my left arm to use they keyboard, lol im sorry but that made me think you had a stroke or something and their by paralyzing your arm. and i just imagine some1 trying to hurl their body @ the computer screen so that the arm lands remotely close to the key board to type out 100 words if that. im sorry but the laziness of the world amazes me. if your computer chair has an arm rest i dont see any need to complain about comfort. its not a bed of nails. i do things when people act intelligent or more specifically ask nicely. also, certain combat lvls get my attetion/respect to provide for them 116+ ill feel they are my equal and actually talk to them. anything lower, just sadly does not gain my attention to care/listen unless you are 50-79 80-115 are just people whom i could not honestly care if they were their or getting ran over by a submarine. not that id wish that on any1. Gerthddyn
Well, I'm only combat level 70 and total level ~1090 something, but I tend to help other players (lower and higher) when they need help. Thing is, some people come to expect help - if you help them once, they keep pm-ing you for more. "Where's Ardougne?" I explain. "Can you show me pl0x?" No, I don't have time to walk you there, but I explain again. "OMG you're not helping!!!!!" Yes, I'm trying to! Right now, if I don't happen to be bored, I rarely go out of my way to help people - their reluctance to even say thank you makes me lose hope in the younger generations. Then again - yes there are a lot of higher levels that think too highly of themselves for their own good. If you think your combat level in a computer game determines your value, think again. inferno_char
Ultimately it depends what mood I'm in but my approach most of the time is: Why should I be bothered to help you if you can't be bothered to help yourself? I do a lot of guide work too, as do the rest of the crew. So I've done my part, I dont see why I should 'take you to the Gnome Stronghold' when we are in Varrock. Those kinds of people annoy me the most, especially when there is a world map button right on the top of the game window. Why should I take 10 minutes out of my game time to help someone I dont know and probably will never speak to again? Everyone has Tip.It, the RSKB, and many other fansites right at their fingertips and if they actually used these resources as I did (and still do) then they can find what they are looking for. Perakp
If I don't feel like talking, I put my public chat off. Really. Am I stuck up? - Yes, you could say so. Do I only think of myself? - Well I don't think of others too much, so I suppose so. Am I a bad person for not helping others? - Definitely. Do I care? - Do I look like I'd care? -- There are some days when I help people that I don't know. That depends on what they ask for and if they are willing to pay for it. But if they start with "what's your slayer lvl?" ..... :wall: Take a look at the hi-scores will ya? "Where is ardougne?"..... Take a look at the world map "What lvl you need to kill these?" .... .... read the manual. Those are no real ways to make up a discussion. If they really wanted to talk to you, be friends with you, they'd say something like "how are you?" or "What's the weather like there?" . But usually they don't, and that's why I think I have the right to ignore them.

lordkrohn1626
I am usually patient and will respond to any polite person who has a legit question. I will even respond to a stat level question. Some things I just don't know ...as if once you are a high level you become all knowing...especially questions about quests......I use the walk throughs explicitly because I hate quests and only do the ones I need, get through it and move on. I have never pked or dueled so I am the last person you want to ask about that...combat? i can tell you all about that :XD: I also find it amusing when they ask how much money do you have? I usually will say no comment, but i dont think i amass any more then 7 mil or so at any given time, i make it when i need it, and spend it on what i want. I have everything i need, and have zero desire to have a colored paper status hat...... stuck up? nah, combat is just another number, it just means I can one or two hit most things. big deal. :ohnoes: RS name: lord krohn Combat 138slayer specific: 103 whips, 38 dark bows and 250+ dragon boots dropped to date.Dragon drops: 5 Half shields, 21 drag legs, 8 dragon skirts, and 9 drag meds dropped to date. darkblade986
Depending on my mood, I'll help out lower levels. Half the time, I don't even pay attention to their level. Case in point: I was training my Hunting at Falconry and I logged in. There was another person there training their hunting as well. They were 53 hunting (I was 65) and they asked if I could get them 2 dark kebbit furs. I was dropping them anyways so I had no problem. I got the 2 furs, went to hit trade, and I see "(Level-3)" and I start thinking "oh... that was unexpected." don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
TheKoolAidMan
I'm not high lvl my self, but when myself or another person is trying to talk to a high lvl and they don't answer, I personally think that is arrogant

Hevendor_Guy
If you ask me for help nicely and give me more than 3 seconds to answer you in a completely typed-out way without going berserk, then I'll help you. Take a stab at my stats, and say hello to my ignore list. However, if some little stuck up pure decides to flame my strength or something, I'll take you the duel arena and knock the living hell out of you. O:) There's cake through here, apparently. Bobbington
I am level 114 and some people would consider me a high level. I hate rudness, I am never rude, and only ignore people when they are being rude to me. -I do not give away free stuff -I will not show you the was to varrock from faldor, but I will say how to get there. -I will not respond to insults, or spamming. -I will not respond atall if you beg for stuff via f2p, But it is unlikely I will add you to my ignore list. I try my very best never to use my ignore list, as i find it rude. Even if I dont like sombody, I dont what them to think I am being rude and ignoreing them (apart from the above situations). I keep my private chat on "ON" so if people have me added, and they are only my ignore, they still see me as online, so can still PM me....... it looks like I am being rude when I dont respond..... so i dont use my list. I hate rude high levels, as much as I hate high low levels, and medium levels...... I will not judge people on combat or total level. I judge people for who they are, and their attitude towards others.
bloody_scife
I usually help people who need help. Mostly because I have a generally low level and ask people for help all the time. Politely, mind you. I usually say something like, "Excuse me, could you tell me where to get this item?" Or, "Could you please tell me where this npc is?" They usually help me, but high high levels like level 120-126 have public chat off more often than not. I'm never offended, nor do I keep talking, as these dudes usually encounter thousands of "pmg phat pl0x" every day. 7,436th to 99 fishing on July 13, 2008 [hide=Quotes that I lol'd at]the day the fantastic four come into runescape, i will eat my socks. what kind of topic is this. ihaven't read it yetbut i now it must be stupid.[/hide]

It most certanly(sp?) does not mean we have to help someone just because of having high level. The problem is not with high levels being arrogant or whatever.Problem is with people thinking that high levels are there just to help them with whatever and to answer their every question. One of the most annoying things is the asking for level of skill x,it gets really old after the first FEW THOUSAND TIMES.Don't be suprised when you are ignored when you ask for some level.Hiscores are there.. use them. /End rant. Nedich
Depends what you class as "high level". I'm level 96 and F2P so i'm pretty much the highest there, sure I occassionally see someone higher than me but rarely. I usually get begged and worshipped (yes some guy was worshipping me yesterday)- thats continuosly bowing and chanting "I worship you" encase you were wondering. Anyway if someone asks politely I usually help them by giving directions or directing them to the worldmap. I try not to be stuck up but yes it happens., when I just want to get on with something anyway
