Login Pin + Screenshot Logger Protection -New RSOF Thread-

Recommended Posts

Hmm...I really like this idea, it could also stop auto-login bots. If it was made that you have to enter it even if your password is incorrect, it could help even more with people that try to cheat to get into World 1 & 2.

READ THIS AND YOU WILL KNOW WHY THIS WON'T WORK

Keyloggers now have the ability to take screen shots, and record them when you click. This makes this completely useless, and if you happen to have a Trojan virus, they not only have keyloggers, but screen recorders. i know this as my friend was hacked, and hid bank broken into, and all his money and items taken. then on the following day had nearly 30 black marks due to the hacker's actions on the account. This was a great idea, but it really is pointless now when hackers have found ways past it.

A minority of keyloggers have always had this ability, but the majority don't. This would stop most of them.

this guys said it, thats why on screen keyboard dont work as well too.

On-screen keyboards wouldn't work anyway.

haven't you heard of password crackers? if all passwords were 4 number long there would be only 10 000 different password. and every account would get cracked.

and what's wrong with the system atm? you have a password. a bank pin and recoverys. the only things you could ever possibly lose are the thing in your inventory.

This is on top of passwords, not in place of. Passwords are still mandatory.

Login Pins would not replace passwords. Please read the entire post next time.

And I guess you wouldn't mind losing that party hat you were wearing?

well it is a good idea but yea you remove your pin to hop b4 then you have to re enter it i dont think this is a good idea sorry

Lol, I'm not sure you understand a word you just said. I don't.

Aight, first off you need to make it so that when you hover your mouse over one of the numbers, ALL numbers disappear.

Because keyloggers works like this (or they can, work as this):

Everytime you click the mouse, it takes a blackandwhite screenshot of the screen with very low quality.

Because of this, the image becomes very low in size, and can be sent withour much fuzz to the person who sent it to you.

This is why a keylogger can get you're bank pin, it gets the four clicks, the person who sent you the keylogger looks at each one of them, and sees what numbers are gone. And voila, they know your PIN!

Now, if we made it so that all numbers dissapear on clicking, people making keyloggers would have to make a screen record feature, and they'd have to make it enabled all the time since they obvioulsy don't know when you're gonna log in.

That is 24/7 screen recording, even WITH low video quality, it would be a big big mess to send those extremely large video files over the internet.

Secondly, you need to have this on forum login, and all other stuff like that too.

Otherwise, of course it should be put into the game.

And since it would be optional, it doesn't make any sense at all not to have it. Jagex should realise :|

No, I really don't play anymore.

Most keyloggers do what they are named for: logging keystrokes. But there are some that can do what you have pointed out, and they are the biggest threat. Your solution is the best that I've seen.
