It is a good rule BUT obviously the clubs themselves want nothing more than to win, I can't see why they should HAVE to play english players. If importing players makes the quality of football better then why not do it?

October 17, 200718 yr It is both the players and the coach in my opinion. Alot of the team are prima donnas who vastly overrate themselves and expect to just turn up and be put into the team, no matter how hard they train and how well they play. I'm talking about Rooney, Lampard, Ashley Cole, Crouch (although it could be argued that he does try, but is just [cabbage]) and to an extent Gerrard, to an extent, although either him or Lampard has to play really. All these amongst others, mainly big 4 people but not all of them (can't fault Ferdinand or Terry (much)). However the team needs a good, strong coach to either sort these out and get them to put the effort in, or drop them. Mclaren isn't that coach.
