haggisoflife
Hi Just saw on the Jagex Twitter account that Jagex are up for the "UK developer of the year" award in this years Golden Joystick Awards (http://www.goldenjoystick.com/). No listing for RuneScape, suprising imo as I though HD would have got a mention for its pummeling of Java. Voting if quick and easy (guess who I voted for ;-p) and the list is quite an interesting read Update: - I checked out the site and they have added RuneScape to the "Online Game of the Year" catagory!! **** Update - Jagex got through to the UK Developer of The Year shortlist! Please go and vote for them :-) ****

Crimsoncow42
*Notices fire emblem* I'm sorry, I have failed you. They should make Fireemblemscape. OT: Kinda weird that Jagex is up for an award when they don't have any games nominated, no?
mister_moocky
How's that? Edit: Shouldn't it be "Jagex IS up for an award"? quit
J35u5_M4
How's that? Edit: Shouldn't it be "Jagex IS up for an award"? Maybe he referred to it as a group of people instead of a company :
Makoto_the_Phoenix
Edit: Shouldn't it be "Jagex IS up for an award"? Maybe he referred to it as a group of people instead of a company :3 A company is a legal person. But that's neither here nor there. I'll look more into this award before I vote, since there's a lot of things that have been award-worthy (and some not-so award worthy). It's interesting though that they're only now getting recognized... walka92
indeed, it should say jagex is, not jagex are. it refers to the company as a single, not a plural. the latter would warrant the are. also, cool. I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

Most excellent  And now that RuneScape is also in the running I think it becomes an "are" ;-p
Bauke
I don't know why the people at golden joystick want all that personal information just to be able to vote. I guess I'm not voting. haggisoflife
I don't know why the people at golden joystick want all that personal information just to be able to vote. I guess I'm not voting. My guess is to reduce 'vote stuffing' and ensure that they have your name if you opt into being sent stuff. Also they just insist on an email, name, and DoB. All of these can be 'modified' so that your vote counts but they don't have any info on you (if your concerend about that) But given the high profile of the sites/mags involved (for example - Edge Magazine) I'd be incredibly suprised if they did anything other than what they say they will (ie - only send you stuff if you want them to and use the details for no evil purposes) as the stink that would generate would far outreach any potential gain from misusing the data. They just want the chance of being able to throw some promo materials at you *if you want them*, which considering the costs of award shows isn't that big a deal.

walka92
now the title should say "jagex and runescape are up for awardS" because there is more than one reward otherwise; i voted.
