I just hope Jagex adds some new content to this old mini-game, like some good rewards like a cape or something to show that you killed all champions. If you truly want to complete this mini-game, devote a month to it, and slaughter thousands upon thousands of monsters until you get it. I think I had a bit better luck than most (only around 32k total kills) but if you just constantly work at it until you get it, you can succeed. I mostly used broad bolts with a rune crossbow (and a cannon on my last scroll [Earth warrior]) because I got a bit annoyed. ;) If you'd rather use melee then a whip would probably be best, though broad bolts do work quite well.
