Ever had a brain freeze in RS? *EDIT: added better story*

(this happened a year ago, but still kinda funny)

Well I was like 123 combat or so, I had just spent a month woodcutting and fletching *shudders* and decided to go click a bit at my slacking slayer level, so I grabbed the blue gem out of the bank, blew the dust off of it. rubbed it and found out that when I had stopped slaying last, I was doing abbysal demons and had 47 to go on this assignment.

Sweet, cause they are pushovers, so I grabbed my dharoks, whip and some cakes (easy to keep your hp hovering at 21 with, I keep it there because I always wear a ring of life, due to an early death here from a lag while at 11 hp) grab my earmuffs and enjoy my scenic walk as I swaggered to the house of slayer.

Well I was flicking my eyes back and forth from the TV to the computer, donned my earmuffs and clicking my way up the rope to the floor right below the abbies, walk calmly around the corner "WHAM!"......huh? I look over from the TV dumbfounded at the sound..."WHAM.....WHAM! OMG, why aren't my earmuffs working? "WHAM!" I am getting owned by the green gobs of death as they whip balls of ick at me!...I scramble for the stairs and make it to the next floor with 8hp left......oh wonderful....then my brain thawed from it's frozen state and the dim lightbulb in my head illuminated....you stupid ####! it's nose peg, nosepeg that you wear! Not earmuffs...I looked around fervently hoping no one saw the big bad 123 almost die due to something this stupid.

For some reason banging the keyboard and swearing does nothing to raise my stats back up so I can tele and rewalk my dumb ( i ) back to the house. So I eat cakes til I feel like a piggy, and waddle my butt back down and scurry for the rope...yup you guessed it "WHAM, WHAM WHAM!", and I am back down to the ground floor...with like 23 hp......took a nice slow stroll to the bank while ridiculing myself all the way.

Funny now looking back, but at the time I was furious with myself, more embarassed then anything else. How about you? Whats the dumb thing you did while your brain was "frozen"?

EDIT: Just remembered my all time best blunder; I was pcing 5 prayer levs to get to 125, having tired of dumping millions into bones. I made 4k vials of unidentified nitro, donned my dharoks and ran to pc. The routine was, board boat, drop 3 vials to lower hp, go into game, click strength prayer and own portys quik and hard. was quite impressed with myself, well anyway, couple days of this, it got to be reflex. Board boat, drop three unid nitros, go into game.

Well i got a realllllllllly long lag, and when you lag, you get kicked out of the game and back onto the pier. So....(yup you can see it coming can't you?) I jump on board, drop a vial...oooooooooooooh this is a pretty town. As I run screaming to the bank and run like a fat man after a cupcake to get back to PC. Iarrive just in time to hear everybody laughing about the dumb 124 who died on the boat. With over 300k in GP (wasnt banking in between, its all about timely runs) dropped a nice whip, berserker ring, rune boots, dharok helm etc.

I made someones day, so off to the forums I went, purchased what I had lost (except ring, they were hard to come by then) and back to PC I went.

Sigh

Not changing Protect from Melee to Protect from Range, when I was in barrows withover 600k worth of stuff. :(

Not paying attention at blue drags, and elves, lost guthix stuff both times.

Or I'll just forget what I was doing, lol.

I've lost a whip twice while reading these forums lol, that kinda counts, but nothing as bad as your near death..

I've had plenty of brain "farts" while playing (a sudden lack of knowledge of what you were planning to do) and they tend to get annoying. Like for example I could be heading to the bank to grab stuff to go do hunting. I get there and go "what was I getting stuff for?" 5 minutes later I finally figure it out...

I forget to bring my antifire shield to green dragons, so i have to tele usually

After it happens I usually swear at myself and then forget what i'm doing again...

I go brain-dead and waste lots of time activating Lunar spells because I forget the seal and such.

hehe yeah I have done more then my share of brain farts, like walking all the way through the wildy to do a clue, heart pounding, looking out for white dots, get to the spot and figure out you forgot your spade...rofl.

...or another of my favs, going to khramja to the dragon dungeon, pay the guy and go inside and figure out that you forgot your axe to cut through the vines...rofl, omg I have done that like 5 times... :mrgreen:

Lol awesome story. Had me laughing the whole way. :D As far as stupid moments I'm sure I've had too many to count. Had a small one just now, wasn't anything like yours but I just recently bought 9.3k green hides to get 80 Crafting. I've done nearly 3-4k of them before I remember that you can hold the Ctrl button and click somewhere to make your character run to that spot without having to toggle the run option on/off. I was doing a LOT of needless extra clicking. :oops:

Heh, I used to have that problem also, but since, I have found a way to get around that; Just destroy it, then everytime you need it to go back to Lunar Isle, simply talk to the Chief on your way to the docks to get another. That way you won't accidently leave it in your bank, and it also saves 1 extra space in your bank. :

Misclicked and put on the Magic Boosting prayer on above Protect from magic...Came back to a 49 and lived... =P~

omg i did same thing at specters once brought earmuffs instead of nose plug unluckily for me i got killed :cry: but guy there was nice enough to give me my stuff lol

I always have brain farts while doing quests. Like if the quest requires a cut pine apple, i would go to karramja, pick the pine apple, walk back, go to start the next portion of the quest only to find out, i forgot my knife. So i walk to the bank to get the knife, and i cut the pinapple. Then i walk back to begin the next step and i see that i need pinapple pieces. I love quests

I forget what I'm doing very often, and forget to bring stuff I need to enter certain areas, such as the crafting guild. I keep forgetting the bring the brown apron :wall:

For probably the most amusing story of this genre, ask Leesters about his cannon story.

As for me, I can't count the amount of times my clan calls a PK trip and I go out there with black dragon, MSB, and no arrows.

I forget what I'm doing very often, and forget to bring stuff I need to enter certain areas, such as the crafting guild. I keep forgetting the bring the brown apron :wall:

Haven't really experienced any deadly yet. But I usually have these brain freezes multiple times especially when doing clues. Usually forgetting the spade and have to run long ways to retrieve one. Once I forgat it twice, the coordinate were at the bedabin camp in desert I think. Of course I didn't have enough gp with me for another carpet ride so I had to run back to shantay pass, banked and took some gp for another ride and bought ticket and back at the camp I relized that I still don't have the spade... :)

The most embarrassing was when I had coordinate next to the sleeping troll at the troll stronghold and of course there had to be someone else doing the exact same clue.. :P He was already fighting the sara mage as I go and dig.. And dig and dig. He kills the mage and says that it's right here, I'm of course like what the... When I don't find anything and then decide to look the clue again and notice that I have forgat the clue itself into my bank...

I actually did the same thing, but I didnt realize what was going on til i made it up the stairs and started fighting abbys. I remember staring at my stats and being like... wtf? Then i noticed the nosepegs and it hit me. Felt like a [developmentally delayed].

Completley off-topic and not concerning to RS in any way. One time when my alarm went off for work in the morning I was very confused as to what was going on. When I finally realized it was my clock making all the noise I walked over to it but couldnt remember how to turn it off so I think I started beating it on the desk til it turned off. Thats the part Im not so sure on, but my clock never did turn on again.
