toasttanker
First off, we all know on January 2nd, the 3k trade limit is coming. However, you can trade more depending on your Quest Points. As we all know, P2P have way way more quests then F2P. Now, before you all start saying "you dont pay, you dont get" listen to my example. BTW, im a member, and i have been for 2 years. If f2p doesnt get any more quests (im not talking about 20 more, im talking about like 2 more) their trade limit is gonna be very low. I'm also not talking about quests like DT or Legends, im talking about a couple stupid quests like "witch's house". Seriously, a couple stupid small easy quests for f2p wont hurt, because its not like thousands of p2p are now gonna say "OMG!! f2p got 1 small mini stupid quest which takes 4 minutes! its soooo not worth being a member anymore!!!!shift+1!!" Feel free to add me in runescape on my tanker "Toast_Tanker"
Warrager
Yeah I agree. I'm F2P but when you have so many simple quests for P2P would it hurt to bring a few over into F2P? I really despise the fact are trade limit is going to be ridicousily small. Maybe 6k? Pretty pitiful...

Bobbington
*Cough*hand in the sand*cough* ..... Whats that got to do with it? ________ It's a good point you raise though, the limit will be very low! I would hope that they put a fix on the f2p figure so that it is not reduced every time a new p2p quest comes out. But to be honest with you I doubt we will see new f2p quests. Warrager
I don't think F2p needs it as much. Why..? F2P still trades some hefty sums. For example I would NOT be allowed to trade 2k coal, 1k iron and 115k gp for 1k steel bars. This is the average trade for me. I'd really hate trading 500 bars at a time every hour... Mak_1027
I wouldn't have a problem with it except the 2 quests mentioned are in p2p areas ...they would have to be quests which only take place in non-members areas.

JimmyMcNabb
they'd have to be new quests written as members ones usually involve member's items or areas.
No_99_Melee
What would be the point in adding new quests if theyre gonna be super easy? The whole point of the balanced trade idea is to make sure people that are dedicated are trading for other reasons then RWT. If an RWT can do it in under a minute then there's no point in adding it. mrrogers
with less valuable items to trade, why is it nessecary?
Warrager
with less valuable items to trade, why is it nessecary? People still trade rares, god armors, 1,000+ of ores, iron, steel bars, rune sets, etc. A 6k or so trade gap every once in a while isn't very good. mrmyk
A 3k margin on F2P is usually more than enough anyway so no, I don't think there's a need for anymore F2P quests. Non-members have had a brilliant year I think with many more updates than I was expecting which is one of the reasons i'm going F2P for a bit now. mrrogers
but what is the big deal? why is a 6k gap nessecary? i haven't traded anyone in a while who is worried about 6k when trading 1000 iron. most of the time, you can get all of the items you need on the exchange anyway. trading between players has become very limited. i will get a gap of about 25k or so, and i will probably rarely use it. nomadmike
:-k As of now I can see 2 possible directions that could happen. 1. The 3k cap is with no quests done. If you have all you get 30k right? So if you have all f2p quests done that would be 30k. If your p2p and you have all quests you get 30k. :| Only problem is p2p has more quests so many people will be ranting :XD: 2. As more quests come out the value one quest gives to your max trade goes down. I.E. 10 quests are out. Each one gives you a 10% increase toward the max(3k for each you do). Now 11 quests come out each is now worth 9.09% to your max you do. :-k This would be somewhat worse because now you are forced to do quests to get to trade better :-s :uhh: Doesn't sound like it will be good We still won't be trading much
aznmidget448
I don't think it's really necessary in f2p to make high amounts of unfair trade. Sure it will be unfair to f2p to not be able to merchant as much, but I guess that's just another limitation from not paying (ooo, I said it, sorry :() But otherwise, it has no real effect on other players other than letting friends borrow money, but Jagex said they will fix this issue by allowing friends to borrow items and return it when they log off. In conclusion, I doubt that they will have too many more f2p quests because there will not be too much benefit for f2p from it and the quests would be pointless reward-wise. However, if they were to give f2p new quests, they would most likely be brand new quests for f2p and p2p since there just aren't enough p2p quests that could be made f2p without introducing new skills or items. mario_sunny
Well, if you total up all the values of every f2p item and average them, it would definately be a lot less than the p2p average. I do personally think though, that 2-3 quests wouldn't really hurt. Although we'll have to see. This year (or should I say last year whoever is reading this post tomorrow) jagex has been really trying to convert f2p. They've updated their member's benefits, given p2p some great high level stuff, ect. I'm not sure if giving f2p a few more quests will discourage f2p conversion in jagex's eyes, however they could just add some silly 20 minute ones that wouldn't really affect anything at all. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . Mark_560
I can't really see the need for a new quest in F2P, to be honest. Only since member's only items cost more than F2P items generally; excluding discontinued items.
bpk_wolfen
the only quests they could give f2p are quests that are 100% in f2p area. And there really isn't very many. I Can't even think of any 99 Fletching 99 Cooking 99 Thieving 99 herbloree 99 magic 99 crafting 99 smithing 99 attack 99 strength 99 defence 99 hitpoints99woodcutting 99mining 99 fishing 99 firemaking 99 hunter 99 prayer
M6c_Magnum
This stinks for skillers :/ I think 96 qp is our max and like 75% of those involve at least one fight against a level over 80 :o [/bads]
Sy_Accursed
There's not many quests that are members that CAN be given to f2p as they require members areas, items and skills and those that don't unlock huge members areas eg priest in peril unlocks the entire swampy, haunted, ghost area beyond tht river. F2P is a very expansive demo compared to what most games offer and still will be even with the trade limit in place. Just another good incentive to get members and actually contribute to the games growth. Plus the thing is every new quest means more QP means 1qp worth less trade limit means f2p limit will get low regardless of stupid quest being thrown over. Runeman231
The trade cap should increase by 1k for every QP you have, F2p would still be really low... Besides, how many macroers can complete Dragon Slayer?

Besides, how many macroers can complete Dragon Slayer? Jagex didn't do it like that as then it'd be FAR to easy to up your trade limit. From simple don't need members or many skills quests that bots can do you can get about 10 - 20 qp That'd mean bots could easily all be trading up to about 13k - 23k Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
vapour
This is lame though. (Not this thread, the quest points affecting trading limit) What is Person X has 100 quest points and Person Y has 20 quest points. Then what? They can't trade? They can only trade based on the 20 quest point limit? It's messed up. Kill_Life
I hope f2p gets more quests, just for that case. But it have to be hard quests/high requirements. Else macroers can just macro their ways trough easy ones and trade more. And then you can start back at 0.
