  1. The Good, The Bad, and The Queen is probably my favourite so far, I haven't enjoyed many albums from this year.
  2. You're correct. Conciousness is like self-awareness. I'm also thinking this topic is about the conscience, which is like a moral faculty.
  3. Tickets for Rush in October. Second time I'll have seen them. 8-)
  4. I think everyone starts out like that, your eyes just need to get used to them. I can wear mine for 24+ hours without much discomfort (not recommended).
  5. Indeed, I don't need glasses myself, but there have been occasions when someone I know who uses contacts has not had their glasses with them when they've been out somewhere. Then their contacts have started to hurt so they had to take them out and since they don't have glasses handy they have to make their way home half-blind. That would suck hard. It's not so bad for me, because I never really wore glasses before I got contacts. I had a pair I used for watching TV and reading and stuff, but my vision isn't too horrible I suppose.
  6. I've used monthly disposables for a little while now. They're not the greatest, and they get uncomfortable at times, but I don't complain because it's the best alternative to wearing glasses. You'll get used to them easily, and it just becomes part of the daily routine. Just make sure to keep your glasses handy, nothing worse than getting up after a night out and having to put your contacts in straight away.
  7. If that means what I think it means..... :-X *shudders* I think he was making a joke about the 'alternative' colours 'emo' people tend to wear. Dirty minded boy.
  8. Same boat.
  9. And of course, because Pete and Carl played together on stage on thursday, I've seen listening to my entire Libertines collection.
  10. Rainbow - Still I'm Sad, Difficult to Cure Joe Satriani - The Forgotten, Always With Me, Always With You John Butler Trio - Ocean Runrig - The Engine Room
  11. I'm not a chav, or a 'chav-lover', but they get a ridiculously hard time. Fair enough to be pissed off at the annoying ones, but I know plenty of nice people who wear track suits. It's ridiculous that someone can't wear a tracksuit and a cap without being labelled, I [bleep]ing hate the planet sometimes. (And yes, the you could replace the word chav with emo in this post basically.) But to add to that, I know more nice 'chavs' than I do emos or goths or whatever you want to call them. They tend to be pretentious.
  12. Exactly, as soon as you do that you lose any right to moan about the consequences. I didn't say anything about moaning about consequences. If you start a fight, you need to accept the consequences, even if you disagree with them. I still think that fighting has a time and place though.
  13. If a friend gets hit, it's all in. (assuming the odds are at least somewhat alright). There's worse things than getting done in a bit, I'd gladly stick up for a friend, and expect the same. In some situations it's obviously stupid to fight back. I was once beaten up pretty bad with bats and knuckle dusters by about five people when I only had two friends with me. Normally they would have tried to help, but there was about another 15 people with the other group. Sometimes the odds just mean you have to get pushed around a bit.
  14. He didn't have a fight. He attacked someone who didn't retalliate, continuing to hit them 5 more times whilst they just took it. That's not a fight. Well when you try and start a fight it's not as if you swing a single punch and wait to get belted back.
  15. I disagree with most of the people here. Part of the reason for this is because I don't know the entire story and am therefore going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I don't promote or condone violence in general, but I think there are definitely reasons for fighting. How much bother you're going to get into will depend alot on the police in your area. An 'assault' such as this wouldn't be a big deal around here, and I very much doubt someone would file charges in the first place.
  16. Portnoy is another very good drummer. I find it difficult to even consider anyone close to Carey though, even if they're not worlds apart technically. Carey just seems like so much more than a 'drummer'.
  17. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=117 ... ght=#11783 Man.. first post on new forums and I decide to post some crappy space scene. I'm so embarased about that  :x . Of course now I know better, but bleh. Some of my first posts are in that thread as well. I used to be so angry. :D
  18. Ten poems seems like an awful lot to write. I only come up with something I want to keep about once a fortnight.
  19. Maybe not better, but Danny Carey is very very close.
  20. That's a difficult one, most of the things I want to be, I am to some extent. I'd like to be a better guitar player, but I can play well enough for my own enjoyment, and well enough so it's impressive. I'd like to be a better singer, but I can carry a tune and sing confidently. I'd like to be a better writer/lyricist, but just wishing for it takes away all of the charm of being good at it. I guess you could say I'm fairly contented.
  21. Birthdates in the 90s are... Weird. The 90's were growing up times, not born-ing times.
  22. Lateralus by Tool, of course.
  23. Whether or not it'll be any good, I'm unsure. I will be looking forward to it however. I loved Load and ReLoad, and can even get into some tracks on St. Anger.
  24. Musicianship, definitely. But lyrics? I would heavily heavily disagree with that. I like Dream Theater, but their lyrics tend to be... Typical, cheese ridden, and overly progressive.
