  1. PKers nowadays are cowards. They eat and get mad if you do, tell you no running but dash off to a safezone if they're not winning, and are satisfied with saying "lol" if they manage to escape. If you ask me, Jagex should do one of two things: -Either halve the number of P2P worlds, extend the safezone rule to 30 seconds and broaden the combat bracket (so you can fight more than 10%+5, maybe make it 25%+5?). -Or take out all PvP worlds, leaving only a handful (no more than 1 or 2 member ones) and reintroduce the Wilderness on all servers. Same rules as old Wildy (Wildy level system with no tele above lvl20 Wildy) and make it so that PvP world rules apply for drops (must risk items with a combined value of 75k+, preferred more) and all drops are game generated. In my opinion the latter choice would be a better way to go.
  2. They did that last year with the Grim Reaper's house. When you got closer to his house's portal everything would become much darker. That didn't mean we were getting day/night time back then and it doesn't mean we're getting it now. This only means that we have another member of the Speculation Nation on our hands. Honestly, why do you take every meaningless update (even temporary ones) and twist them into something else? How would we even benefit from day/night time? If you've been playing so long that day turned into night then I think someone needs hobby...
  3. I started playing Runescape in 2003. I played for just under a year, then I got Shadowbane for Christmas (another MMO that was P2P back then) and abandoned RuneScape to go play that instead. That game was loads of fun because of the intense PvP and great community, but eventually I grew bored of it (there's absolutely nothing but PvP there). I came back to RuneScape in late 2005, and I made a new account to play on. 8-) At first it took a bit of getting used to, since this game was mostly skilling and I was no longer used to that. The combat was a step down than what I was used to as well, but I liked the casual gaming. Nothing too serious, just an hour or two a day of goblin killing and Demon slaying. In 2006 SB became F2P and we were invaded by Asian players whom most did not speak English and were very annoying, so I quit and started playing RuneScape full-time. I was amazed to see how crappy the community was and how many rule breakers (of all rules) and macroers were running around, but I had become friends with a great group of people and that kept me playing. : It was very nice to see the game getting new game content nearly every week, and I fell in love with questing and mini-games. The constant grinding for levels wasn't all that fun but I saw it as a challenge, and the diversity of skills was fun as well. So here I am, 3 years later. I still play, although not as much as before. I've taken many breaks from the game, but this has been the only MMO that would always bring me back for more than a couple of weeks.
  4. That's what I thought at first, but whatever "combination" I tried it would always be wrong. I tried this on my main and my other accounts, all had the same outcome. The only "correct" way is the one in the pic there.
  5. 90k normal bones?! Go for Big Bones, it's much more merciful to have to make another 7mill than to have to bury all those bones.
  6. 900k Magic xp an hour?! That's impossible! Camelot Tele/High Alch are very fast Magic trainning methods, but you don't get any HP xp from them. Or you could go with Crumble Undead in 4th level of the SoS. It's good in F2P, and I heard it's good in members too.
  7. Yes, my advice is to not go to BH unless you are on a lvl 90+ account. Even if you are a pure with Prayer you will get mercilessly slaughtered there. Just stick to PvP worlds, and I suggest 75+ Strength, because 60 Str doesn't really do anything. In F2P (where you said you will be pking) Str is everything so expect everyone to have high Str at low combat levels, even if they aren't pures.
  8. I'm sorry but how is that being helpful? To obtain Ghostly Robes you just need to have started the Desert Treasure quest, after that the Ghostly Robes mini-quest will become unlocked. You can find all the information you need on how to do the mini-quest in Tip.It's Ghostly Robes Mini-Quest Guide.
  9. Permanent mutes do not get lifted, that is why they are called "permanent". Your only chance is to submit an appeal and hope it doesn't get denied.
  10. Even if you do that, when you create a new account it will show that you joined in 2008. It's not the e-mail that matters, it's the account itself.
  11. You can't expect everyone to know about every single topic on these forums, especially since 95% of people don't go near the Questionnaires sub-forum.
  12. Well to be honest your topic was kind of like flame bait. I don't go near the RSOF, it's not worth it. I say since all the idiots are already there we should just seal it off and blow it up.
  13. Maybe they added it there by accident? They don't normally do things like this before releasing updates. And I don't think there will be any updates at all today, game content is usually done earlier than this hour.
  14. "There are some things in life that money can't buy, for everything else there's MasterCard" Well you can argue that a very rich man that knows no one he can trust and has no one that loves him will never be happy. But if a you have a tight-knit family that hasn't a penny to its name to pay for necessities (and what if one of them is seriously ill, how will they pay for medical treatment?) then I don't see how they can be happy either. I'm using the above examples to say that even though money can't "buy happiness" I do not believe it is not possible without it. In RuneScape millions of gp are required for us to be able to buy raw material and save us the pain of getting them, useful equipment that will make us more effective in combat, and just about everything else that will make our gaming experience less grindy more fun. Sure, a player can get all those things by themselves and get a sense of accomplishment (and be happy they saved millions) but the time it would take could have been better used doing something enjoyable. This is after all a game, meant to be for fun and a "sense of accomplishment" isn't that important here.
  15. Swordhand20; I do wonder who you think the Tip.it Community is sycophantic to... I've been known to have quite a few run-ins with the Tip.it staff (hell, since the MSSW I've had to endure a 3-day ban already), but without bias, and merely as truth, I know that it was me who had the biggest hand in organising it and getting this many people to turn up... True, and we appreciated it very much. Swordhand20, I don't see why you are so upset for not having won. This event was just for fun, you have no reason to attack Tip.It users and call us names. Your favoured fansite will hopefully have a chance to win next year. I hope you understand that I am calling you a lifeless looser for getting so worked up over this, but I choose not to stoop down to your level and have instead chosen to say it in a polite way. ;) I am also proud to be a part of this great community, because looking at you I do not wish to be part of whatever sewer your crawled out of. Have a nice day, and happy 'scaping! :D
  16. I remember back in 2006 the Halloween event wasn't released until the actual day of Halloween. Just be patient, it will be here soon. That's all we can tell you. ;)
  17. FoG is all about displaying superior strategy. If your Hunter foils your plan to beat them you need to be able to get yourself out of trouble or you'll never be able to get 4k-5k charges even if you read the best guide in the world. With tactical skill, you can beat even FoG's best players. What makes FoG less of a challenge is that most players you'll be paired off with are idiots. These are: Magers: Who fail to understand FoG wasn't intended for free Magic xp, thereby costing them the round (they don't even get enough xp to make it worthwhile) High-leveled players: Who refuse to accept that tanking in the centre isn't a winning strategy Centre area idiots: You always know you'll find them there; making them easy to kill when you're hunting and even easier to avoid when you're hunted. Just keep moving around, never accept a specific location as "good enough" to stand still and gather charges.
  18. I rather like pking 1-itemers. Since loot in PvP worlds is game generated you don't have to worry that they'll jsut protect item and you won't get any drops. They wear no armour so they're much easier to kill that most pkers, they don't carry food/pots/tele runes, and above all they keep coming back to fight you, which means you keep getting kills and drops! The only time they get annoying is when they come back to fight you for like the 100th time (exaggeration) and yell at you for healing. I'm sorry I just had a 100 fights, I can heal if I want to. It's not like you're the one who decides the rules I should follow.
  19. F2P... I guess fighting Lesser Demons in Crandor is a good way to train combat in freeplay. Making money in F2P is very hard nowadays, I'm not a fan of G.E merchanting but you can give that a go if you want. You can keep fishing lobs, that's a nice way to earn a living.
  20. Game content updates are never that early in the day. And for those who think they might be releasing an update with the bug fix, that never happens. It's either one of the two but never both.
  21. I was trying to sell a rune scimmy I got as a drop, I couldn't spare the bank space for it. I get a buyer, I put up the scimmy and he puts up a Combat Hood 0 and 12k cash. The whole point I'm selling this is because I have no bank space, so I decline and tell him I only want money for it. The genius sent me another trade offer, only this time he put up the 12k before the Combat Hood. #-o
  22. I don't PK for profit, I have other ways of making money. I PK because I love PvP. It's fun and exciting, and unlike most RS activities you don't get bored after doing nothing but that for a week or two. Look at other popular MMORPGs, most of them are successful thanks to their Player-vs-Player features. You're fighting fellow players, they have better IQ than the game's monsters (sometimes) and that makes it more of a challenge, thus fun.
  23. Note: I wrote this shortly after the MSSW4 ended. I was fairly sleepy so it might not be written the best way possible but I wanted the details to be as fresh in my mind as possible. I wrote this in story form, so please don't get into technicalities. ________________________________________________________ It has been a year since the great armies have met in battle. I did my best to take part in this colossal tournament, but I had been too late. By the time I had arrived it was all over, and all I saw was my faction ecstatically cheering for their recent victory. I still remember the corpses of those massacred right at the entrance of the ruins. They had been mercilessly slaughtered by the gargantuan faction, now the victor, before they even had time to defend themselves. I was pulled back into the present when my friend told me that we had arrived. Yes, it was a year later and the armies were to meet in battle yet again. I was amazed by the overwhelming number of combatants already present, as we were early. We quickly began looking for our other friend who said he would meet us there. It took us some time to find him amongst all the warriors, but we finally did. He welcomed us, and then asked "Did you bring the capes?" We had completely forgotten! What were we to do now? With a smile he assured us they were handing out capes for those without, for without it the faction members would recognize you as an enemy. It wasn't long before it was time to journey to the battlefield, and the soldiers split into divisions each following a general. We crossed the infamous Wilderness ditch and began moving forward. The march seemed shorter than it was, but it was not without problems. As we were making our way an arrow appeared out of nowhere and nearly hit my division's general. Nevertheless, we kept moving and were the first ones there. The other divisions arrived soon after, and after that all we had to do was wait. A scout reported enemy forces awaited to the west, and one of the divisions swiftly made its way to the enemy's location. I had lost my friends since we arrived, and thought to seek them out. I hadn't been more than a few seconds into my search when a fight broke out. There were spies among us, and they had unexpectedly launched an attack on the loyal soldiers. There was much confusion; no one knew who was a backstabber and who wasn't. Only one thing was for sure, there were more than a mere handful of these double agents and they had been planted there by one of the factions. Our army literally began to fight itself, and reports stated that two other factions were making their way to the Ruins. I frantically continued searching for my comrades, but green capes were everywhere and they were all fighting. I looked everywhere, and was so focused on finding them that I did not notice the backstabbers who attacked me from behind. A blow to the head made me fall on the ground, and I lost consciousness. I was awoken by a familiar voice. I had been taken to a safe place and my two friends were standing beside me. I quickly rose and asked if the battle was over. To my relief they answered that it wasn't, but if I hope to go back to the fight I better hurry. I swiftly grabbed my weapon and rushed back to the battle scene. The few enemy throngs had been wiped out nearly immediately, and the backstabber squad was dwindling in number. Before I knew it the battle was over, and we had won once again! The thunderous cheers of our soldiers echoed throughout the Wilderness. The leaders addressed the masses, and it was agreed that we would march to the cities of the world and wipe out the few survivors of the opposition. My friends and I followed our division to Falador and we felt like we were back during the Falador Massacre, only this time there were hundreds of killers sparing no one. We slayed all whom we encountered, and half an hour later our faction had completely dominated every major city. My comrades and I entered the Falador pub and went upstairs to sit at our usual table. I ordered us a round of Asgarnian Ale and we sat back to drink it. We looked out the window and admired the setting sun shining down on our soldiers celebrating in Falador Square. It was a long day, but we survived it. The other factions will surely want revenge next year, but we'll be ready.
  24. This year's event was nowhere near as epic as last year's. The other fansites practically didn't show up (except fo a few throngs from Sal's and RV) I suspect RSC planted BSers in our team, they said they wouldn't show because they're "too large" for us and would defeat us anyway. Honestly, there couldn't have been that many BSers unless someone put them up to it.
  25. This will make it a hundred times more fun! Remember everyone, the MSSW4 (RS version of the World Cup :P ) is Saturday 18th so do your best to clear your schedule for it. 6 major fansites 2000 players 1 server Who will win this year's MSSW and walk away with all the glory? Tip.It defeated RSC, the reigning champions, last year and we plan to do that again! Be there, show your support to Tip.It! And bring your friends and clanmates, it's fun!
