  1. I play other MMORPGs, as well as console games and single-player computer games. What, I'm a gaming enthusiast! :P So on a general scale I'd say probably least of the time?
  2. I haven't bothered to think about this since I switched to a digital monitor nearly a decade ago. -.- Too much of anything isn't good, but there's no reason to blame RS for anything you can think of. This is like the topic talking whether or not RS is bad for the health of pregnant mothers, since when was RS a craving?
  3. Methinks this is a "How can I make money?" topic in disguise. :P A good way of making money is using your brain to do research and find a good way to make money (depending on G.E prices) and not sharing it with anyone and everyone so that all will want to try it and cause it to no longer bring profit. ;) Or just use the "everybody knows but cba to do it" methods that involve using skills or collecting raw material.
  4. I'd work day and night to release a weapon known as the Great Axe of Noob Smiting. This very powerful weapon can be used to PK beggars anywhere in the game on non-PvP servers. : Other than that I'd try my best to fix certain annoying aspects of the game (such as people being able to freeload in the Trawler mini-game). I would try to decrease the use of automated messages for things such as players trying to show they've been unfairly banned/muted. But above all I'd make sure Jagex mods are seen interacting with other players ingame as much as they used to back in the day. I'd also Have a "famous RS player" account of my own which I'd use to pass on as a non-Jmod (remember S H A R K ?).
  5. Whatever happened to the almighty "Jagex will NEVER e-mail you" thing they always raved about? Well congrats on a free month of membership, as we say here on Tip.It you just saved enough for a Big Mac. Never heard of cases like this though, and you said they charged another guy by mistake and the guy found out? That can be dangerous, unless they fix everything that guy might have a chance to steal your account (credit card info can get past recovery answers you know).
  6. I'd love to see a holiday event as long as the good ol' Christmas 2005 one, it's by far my favourite. The rewards weren't all that special but the event itself was very fun because it required a bit of creativity and wasn't something you could finish in 5 minutes. They said it's going to be a quest, (even though ti will only be available for 2 weeks) so I'm hoping it will be better than usual holiday events. :
  7. Well I don't think so, no. Like you said kebabs heal randomly, sometimes you get a "bad kebab" and you get no healing at all and you find one of your stats was reduced a bit. It's not very wise to rely too much on "randomness" when you're pking, you don't always know 100% what to expect and I doubt the pkers are going to be patient and wait until you get a kebab that heals you well. In my opinion players that rely on kebabs in pking get owned 95% of the time.
  8. It's always nice to help other players, especially if they're new to the game and don't have much cash. But beggars are a completely different story. I hate beggars, I wouldn't even give them the time of day if they were trying to get me to give them free money so they'll stop annoying me. Tbh no even if it's just 10gp he shouldn't have given it to that noob, beggars don't deserve anything. And I liked how you got rid of him, should have thought of it myself haha!
  9. I'm definitely going to be there, so will my clan (because I'm making them help Tip.It, even the ones that like Zybez haha). Honestly, it's either going to be Tip.It or Zybez. The other fansites are better off just picking a side and hoping they made the right choice. Zybez? This is TIP.IIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!
  10. I don't recall ever seeing someone use "1337 5P34K" on Ti.It forums before unless it's to make fun of people who actually use it. And I'm sure if anyone were to use nothing but leet speak in their posts the mods and admins would delete them. The Tip.It community is smarter than most RS communities, we don't need to worry about leet speak here. :) (except for the occasional idiot, but that's not really something you can make sure it doesn't happen)
  11. Haha, I liked the "organized crime" reference. Honestly, there's a reason why nobody likes merchanters. Screwing up the game's economy and spoiling everyone else's fun just so that *you* can get what you want? It's corrupt, and to quote Lord of War (movie) "Just because it isn't illegal doesn't mean it isn't wrong".
  12. Revs can be a pain sometimes, but so were pkers. They serve to keep the anxiety of having pkers sneek up on you, makes being in the Wilderness more exciting! :) They're not hard to kill, unless you're like level 30 and hanging out in lvl 45 Wilderness fighting the high-leveled Revs. :? Though they're over-powered in F2P, not even players can hit as high as Revenants can in freeplay. Teleblock was a members only spell, so why can Revs use it in F2P? I won't write a whole page about this, I think everyone knows the rest. nerf revs in f2p kthxbai
  13. I only report someone if they know they are breaking the rules and keep on doing it. I rarely report for Rule 1. Everyone has a slip of the tongue, and you have to admit the chat filter is way too tight. And like those before me have said, sometimes people are just having a bad day. But if someone is cussing at me for say, beating them at Fist of Guthix then I report them without a second thought. Item Scamming was what I reported people for the most for years, but since the December updates I haven't seen one case of item scamming, that rule is obsolete. I don't report people for Rule 12 either, why should I care if someone is interacting with another human being? [/sarcasm] It's only breaking Rule 12 if the other person doesn't want to share personal details, and most players who ask that question are new players who just want to make friends, and don't fully know the rules.
  14. Haha, the OP wanted to keep track of people who are with the idea and those whom are against it. He hasn't chanmged it from the 1-0 state because he's the only one not against it. I remember creating a "white market" was one of the suggested methods to combat RWT's black market a long time ago. But Jagex said that they refuse to ever to anything like that. A while back I was on Wikipedia and I came upon an article on Jagex. There were quotes from a Jagex official (maybe Geoff Iddison, can't remember for sure) and he talked about RS and the "next MMORPG" (MechScape I guess). But what really caught my eye is that they mentioned Jagex is planning a third MMORPG to be released in 2010, and that it's possible for that one to have an item mall instead of a in-game subsciption.
  15. Yes, because they're not human and they don't make mistakes. Personally I think they should relax the Bug Abuse rule. A bug like having a familiar in the G.E might be cool, but it doesn't give you an "advantage" that you can use to gain anything. In extreme cases like the Falador massacre they would have good reason to ban players, but they have to keep in mind that sometimes when people get golden opportunities like that, it's hard to resist. (free party hats, who would say no?)
  16. Don't let that guy get to you. The fact that he gets so frustrated because he lost one round in a computer game means he has no friends to spend his time with instead. I was once paired with a level 126 (was on a F2P world) and I beat him... Twice! FoG is all about strategy and if that guy is too stupid or too cocky to play good enough to win then forget him.
  17. Would be nice if they put more work into already-existing skills. I don't see why we *need* 2 or 3 new skills every year. Also I'm hoping I'll live to see the day they raise the skill cap to round it up to level 100 in each skill. Not much hope for a higher skill cap, not after one either.
  18. I don't believe I've posted here yet, so here we go: Good job with the new server, although I have a fast internet connection I managed to notice it now takes 0.22 seconds less to load forum pages. (Yes, I have the capability to notice that) Now everything should be smoother for users with slower internet connections as well. =D>
  19. I was expecting the Durial event to be mentioned. Yes, it was a bug and he broke a rule by abusing the bug. But stop and think about it, who in Durial's situation could have resisted being able to get free party hats? Even if you say you wouldn't have done what he did, were you to have truly been in his shoes you would have done the same thing. Yes, Jagex claims they take extra time before releasing updates for QA, but they're kidding themselves. Their QA sucks and everyone knows that. The blokes at Jagex Towers decided to take an approach where they let the community do most of the QA for them. They let the players find any techniques Jagex see as "imbalanced" and they get removed. I'm largely against this. Although it may seem smart to let the game's community flush out certain things that Jagex employees would have otherwise never found in a million years, it's still no excuse. They should realize that players who indeed spend months trying to find and perfect techniques find it very annoying when Jagex suddenly remove them and all their hard work has gone to waste. We're not the ones on payroll, players shouldn't be the ones Jagex uses for QA.
  20. The game is 2 minutes per altar so 8x2=16 minutes per round. You get tokens depending on how well your team did in the game, and I noticed it also matters how much help you've been to your team (unless you win all the altars) so it's not easy to give you an accurate estimate. The max is 1k tokens per round, and say you play 3 rounds per hour so 3k tokens per hour. I'm not sure what Death Altar tele tabs cost, but what I do know is that the RC Mini-Game is not a good trainning method. Yes, you get double the xp from RCing there, but the time it takes to play a round, divided by the xp you get for say, 28 ess in each altar is very very slow. You'd train faster RCing the old fashioned way.
  21. It's just for looks, Maple Shortbow is much better (for F2P). This is just one of thsoe items like trimmed armour that offer no better bonuses and their only purpose is to show off to other players then realising it wasn't worth the extra money.
  22. This is just one of those branding obsessions... I wouldn't buy something just because it has the RS logo on it. Paying extra for a brand name that most people don't care about kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion.
  23. I've never used RSC forums so I wouldn't know. Well it doesn't have to be so that a user needs a gigantic post count to be able to create topics. I'd say 50 post count is good, but it could be something like 30 or 25. If it's a new user, they'd be busy discovering the discussions they haven't been a part of. And by the time they take part in the ongoing discussions they'll find they've reached the required post count to create their own topics. Not to mention it would also help cut down on topics like "Hi I'm new here!" which get locked anyway.
  24. Some douche bags think they're being funny if they create a new forum account and post half a dozen spam topics per minute. This happens mostly in the General Discussion forum, and it's happened on many occasions (the latest being a few minutes after I made this post, it was what gave me the idea). A few months ago a guy did this, and although his posts were deleted, the forum account used to spam was not banned (not even temporarily) and I've seen him post in some topics (can't remember his username, something with a T). So why not make it that forum accounts with less that 50 or 100 posts cannot create forum topics, either in all or certain forums. It would help cut down on the spam a bit.
  25. It's rare nowadays... Sometimes I try shouting out "Hyt!" in an area with a lot of players, but most of the time people just answer with "What did you call me?" :wall: Of course sometimes I get a "Hyt!" when I least expect it, I once logged in on a noob account of mine in a random F2P world, and I use the Forsakenmage cc when on that account, and someone recognized me from the cc and gave me a "Hyt!" :D
