LinovUSA, pardon my being the 'voice of doom' here, but you're going to need a faster PC. From what I can tell, Jagex is using systems with a ~3.5 GHz minimum (very likely much faster) for their testbed. (In my personal opinion, an unrealistic minimum for their testing, which blocks them from seeing these speed issues because their system is too fast to enable them to notice it.) It's why people like me with ~2.4 GHz are lagging down in the ~5 to ~10 fps (usually less) zone. Put simply, Jagex couldn't keep their code unbloated, and anyone with a system slower than ~3.2 GHz is going to suffer until they unbloat it. BTW, those speed estimates are per-core, and core count doesn't matter due to RS not utilizing multiple cores properly. :( Before I go, for reference, I survived the Bot Nuke with ~15 to ~30 fps. It was the Dominion Tower (a P2P feature, even though I'm 100% F2P) that took me down finally, reducing me to the state I mentioned in the previous paragraph. I don't know what Jagex messed up, but I hope they fix it someday soon. I can't even properly pop on RS for my friends/buddies and/or the Tip.It Community's Unofficial "HYT" Clan anymore. :wall: ~Mr. D. V. "I got [bleep]ed over by Jagex, badly..." Devnull

The "You're Fired" Game (Over 1K fired)
D. V. Devnull replied to Blaze The Movie Fan's topic in Forum Games
You're fired from Minute Maid's NorthWest Production Plants because you were tossing Oranges around the production floor with some other people which I wasn't any of, knocking one of the dispensers askew, and resulting in a huge liquid mess that causes production to be stopped while cleanup happens. (Gross!) :-X And as for this... Okay, this is a little overboard. The only reasons I was on RS was to chat with some buddies and do a test-check to see if the lag was gone. If needed, I was also reminding myself of why I don't play RuneScape anymore, which I most certainly ended up doing. :-( ~Mr. D. V. "Bad day at the plant, eh? BTW, overboard much?" Devnull -
That is your opinion, not everyones goal is max xp/h. I like to collect all emotes and clothes before doing stuff like that. I feel the same way as you about this, essiw... It's always good to have a few pieces of Random Event clothing and some Emotes at option for that odd occasion or something. ~D. V. You're fired from the Permanent Sig Club for not realizing that was actually a hand-typed 'per-post' signature, and not part of my main (and rather more permanent) signature. :boohoo: ~D. V. You're fired from Lunar Station 3, because you were not able to stop a maniacal computer from causing a tiny kitty to get sucked out through one of the AirLocks. ~Mr. D. V. "As if this would ever [bleep]ing happen..." Devnull -
Regarding this... Good thing I turn off my notifications, save for the inline one. :twss: And now for this... Granted, but the chain slips the first time you ride it, and you have to spend a few minutes getting it back on. Thankfully, you had your tools with you. :anxious: Let's see... What to wish for now... Ah, yes... I wish that my family's second computer hadn't failed about 9 months ago, and also had not developed any other kind of problems... Poor thing. :boohoo: ~D. V. Stev, unless you disable the verification checks via your Java Control Panel, you'll have to follow what Kimberly said. I know it's a pain to have to deal with, but that's your only options unless you can get the applet's original creator to release a better version for sites like Tip.It to use. :geek: ~D. V. "Not my fault, but sorry anyway..." Devnull

Banned because I don't believe that for a second. It gets too crazy in here anyway for voice recognition software to work right. Hmph. :notalk: ~Mr. D. V. "Not possible... Or maybe I'm teasing?" Devnull -
Granted... But, you forget to use those skills. (I think that happens to too many of us IRL anyway!) I wish Tip.It Forums' "View My Content" thing updated a bit sooner... Waiting 24 hours is a pain! <_< ~D. V. "Feeling the slows..." Devnull

Granted, but you accidentally mess every wish up because the wish-granting genie executed them just like the kind of messed-up wishes that occur in this thread. I wish I had a sign that said "Welcome to the 'Corrupt a Wish' thread!!!", and had no problems with it whatsoever, including that it could not land up harming me. :P ~D. V. "Doing my damnedest to make this hard on you..." Devnull

Hi there... Pardon my slight rant, but I agree. I wish as well that there were options for both these Examine Pop-ups, and the Attack Options when right-clicking. Consider yourself to be not alone on this. :( ~D. V. "I think I'm still on-topic here?" Devnull

Granted, but you respawn immediately in the same place, so whatever killed you keeps killing you again forever. :-o I wish I hadn't thought of something that morbid right then. :-( ~D. V. "You have to realize, this isn't personal, right?" Devnull

Heck, I'm having that issue all around F2P. This issue has been ongoing since the Dominion Tower, which hit me even though it is a P2P feature and I'm 100% F2P. Bot Nuke didn't even bother me, but the Dominion Tower release sent me to hell for performance, and it has been that way since then. Like with you, it has been getting incrementally worse, but extremely slowly in my case. :( We can hope Jagex will fix their half-[bleep]ed junk, but I'm not holding my breath. *facewall* :wall: ~D. Banned for getting in the way of me banning those two. :P BTW, glad to see you, Ms. 'star_in_the_sky'! |^_^| <*kisses her on the cheek, and runs off*> ~D. V. "I'm even teasing the ladies..." Devnull -
As an offside note... Heck, Oracle and Browser makers have made it so that Jagex is not constrained anymore. They've been implementing "-Xmx256m -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true" parameters for some time now. Problem is, Oracle and Browser makers even let Jagex override my own settings to jump the RAM Heap to 384 MB and keep 2D DirectDraw turned on, which causes me problems to no end regarding maintaining performance. I wouldn't be at all surprised if others are having issues due to being unable to set their own tweaks. :( @ OldJoe -- If Oracle (and Sun MicroSystems) had never split Java away from the browser like this, I think things would be running less laggy and allowing for better multitasking. But that's just me. :-? ~D. V. "Knowing the [bleep]ed-over feeling..." Devnull

Granted, but it backfires and freezes your timestream instead. :( BTW, seeing as 'turtle drink' just caused a gap... <*plasters 'turtle drink' with a can of red paint*> Now, I wish I would not ever get too warm or too cold ever again. ^This. It would be nice if they would do away with the maze random altogether. Or at least change it so you can pick a reward like the other randoms and at least get some xp out of it. Or they could just make the timer on the Maze Random about 2.5x longer. That's literally the only thing that ticks me off with the Maze, because your time (and therefore the reward) dwindles way beyond too low before you can get to the rewards due to an overload of in-game lag. It has always frustrated me to no end. ~D. V. "Mad at the Maze Random!" Devnull

They make me so mad! Here, let me blow you away for that thought! How? Simple. <*watches BlazeTMF get blown off the side of this thread's cliff by DVD's own Thu'um*> Next word: SPLAT! ~D.
