  1. Blaze, Fresi, Grinch, Ieyfura, Ltk, Nexaduro, and Star... You're all banned for missing the SpaceBalls reference that Nexaduro doesn't realize that they made, and leaving for me to read while my stomach happens to be hurting. :boohoo: ~D. V. "Headsh-Doub-Tri-Qua-Mul-Meg-ULTRA KILL!!!" Devnull (p.s.: Seven at once... Not bad, if I say so myself!)
  2. Granted, but you find the USA has been heat-razed in multiple spots by their eyes during periods where they sneaked off, changed into Superman, and had fun while clobbering bad guys. Walls nearby the White House end up reading "Superman was here"... :o I wish that Jagex would change the "25K gp/day - Unbalanced Trade" thing so that it would also disengage if you reached "600 Total Level + 20 Quest Points", instead of only being removable by having been P2P for at least 1 month. (Not everyone can afford to go P2P once, thanks to an awful economy. Further, the loss of F2P HighScores was bad enough, but limiting trade on new accounts without a purely F2P solution was going too far.) :( ~D. V. "Jagex should NOT be controlled by non-gamer-minded investors..." Devnull
  3. It works perfectly, thanks. Now that's just weird. In that case, it would suggest that the Java available to FireFox is messed up. Sounds like time for the main Java install to get reinstalled. :-w ~D. V. "That's some crazy stuff..." Devnull
  4. Problem: AVG will block that, because it uses a packing style that AVG has blacklisted. :( ~D. V. "Sort of sticks a fork in things..." Devnull (p.s.: @Randox -- My RS load up was with something from YouTube active. Can't be their fault, TBH.)
  5. I think Wyvren's right, I just tried to play using runescape.com/game.ws and I white-screened as well. Do you have that url bookmarked, or are you actually being re-directed there from the front page? Guys, I just tried http://www.runescape.com/game.ws and I am having no issues whatsoever. RS has loaded right up for me and I'm not even using the latest stuff while having a whole ton of extensions loaded. So the URL isn't bad, that's for certain, unless Blaze is just lacking the "http://" on the front. :ugeek: ~D. V. "Mileage about URLs shouldn't be varying here..." Devnull (p.s.: Blaze, I still need you to post that List Of Added FireFox Extensions/Toolbars/Etc.!)
  6. In that case, just to let you know I'm not a 'fresh jerk' and that I'm not trying to make any moves on you...

  7. Banned for making me use my own nifty internal filter and ending up with, "What the [bLEEP]? Why, young lady, why?" ~D. V. "Run over by a flashlight..." Devnull
  8. Hiya, Blaze! You just found a FireFox user who's more than willing to help you burrow through this mess. :shades: Before you do anything like what others have posted, I need you to post back with a list of everything you have added (directly and indirectly, doesn't matter which) to FireFox so far. We're going to dig you out of this mess and keep as much working as possible, one way or another. :ugeek: ~D. V. "Not gonna let FireFox burn down in your face..." Devnull (p.s.: Worst case, AVG is messing with you. AVG and the RS Client are known for not getting along.)
  9. (AUTHOR ALERT: READ ENTIRE POST BEFORE TAKING ANY ACTION! THOUGHTS ARE NOT IN SEQUENTIAL ORDER!!!) Noisecontrollers, I just caught up on the last so-many posts, and I'm surprised you didn't mention Norton/Mcafee sooner. Both of them can really mess your system and TCP/IP stack up. Uninstall them, and use the Removal Tools from both companies to clear most of what their uninstallers don't cover out. From there, sweep the registry and hard disk directories and cleanse your system of their installation's presence. And like Sbrideau said, get something else as your AV and Firewall, and before you remove Norton/Mcafee so that you'll have the new ones ready to slap in while you're offline. Personally, my preference for them would be ZoneLabs' ZoneAlarm Pro for firewall, Eset's NOD32 for antivirus, and Acronis True Image for data backup. :geek: BTW, also check Java and make sure that it either talks to your browser for connection settings and/or that it just tries to go directly to the internet. Which reminds me, before you remove Norton/Mcafee, make sure they aren't affecting the path that Java takes to the internet. That could be (albeit unlikely) what's limiting which adapter that RuneScape can go through, and might have some effect even after their removal via things like Windows' policy systems. Heck, if you can fix it via Mcafee's internal settings, then you may not have to go through most of what the rest of us have mentioned. :) ~D. V. "Maybe there's an easy way out of this mess?" Devnull (p.s.: Make sure Windows Firewall isn't trying to apply itself at the same time as Mcafee! That will really mess your stuff up!)
  10. Banned for getting stuck in a non-color noir-type film... :shame: ~D. V. "Looking for something silly..." Devnull
  11. Freeze-over @ Wizzy Tower... Very Funny... NOT... I'll pass final judgement if I even decide to touch RS for the Christmas Event, that is if it will even launch in the first place. After the slaps to F2P, I don't really feel all that Christmas-ish. <_< BTW, Sy, that Green Wizard from RC Guild is female. Get with the program. :shame: ~D. V. "Just not very in the spirit of things anymore..." Devnull
  12. I hope you've set your AntiVirus/Firewall/AntiMalware programs back up after knocking all three out. :o This points to an adapter-related problem. I don't know if anything about that is being stored in the Jagex Cache area, but try dropping that in the recycle bin (so you can grab it back if dumping doesn't work) and reloading it while you're on hardwired ethernet. Also, have you tried doing an "ipconfig /flushdns" (no quotes) while at a Command Prompt? There's an unlikely chance that you might have DNS entries or something that are sticking and causing an issue. :geek: ~D. V. "Going to have to try ruling things out, one by one..." Devnull (p.s.: At anyone knowledgeable enough, is it possible for Windows 7 to affinity a program to a specific network adapter?)
  13. Banned for having an avatar that reminds me of Kabuto Yakushi... ~D. V. "What an eye-roller..." Devnull
  14. enfield, you're really not alone. Thinking about RuneScape depresses me as well, but for different reasons. In all honesty, if you don't find RS to be all that fun anymore, and/or that RS feels like an unwanted drag on your mind, then quitting is really the best option to take. Sure, from time to time your mind will wander back, but knowing that you had good reason to let go will enable you to keep yourself free and unaddicted. ;) In case you're wondering what caused me to quit, it was over matters of Account Security, Login Frequency, P2P Ad Overkill, and Game Applet Usability. (Heck, pardon me while I start ranting a little here.) :geek: Like another MMO, "Dead Frontier", I could not stand the constant hassle of having to login to keep an eye on my account. So the removal of all F2P from the RS HighScores was the breaking point for me, as I happened to use them to watch my account when I wasn't in-game. Seriously, Jagex could have gone to a little extra trouble to filter just the bots out, and keep the whole RS community happy at the same time. But they decided to make it a P2P feature, when it has been part of the F2P game since RS began? I can't afford the $6/month due to the awful U.S. Economy, so I'm effectively being unfairly punished alongside all the damned botters. Worse, Jagex seems to be completely about the money now with their "Rune$cape" styling of their game logo. The runes are gone, and apparently so is some of the game's magical feel it once had, as it is now stuffed full of hidden P2P Ads that pop up when you least expect them. Plus, for F2P, now is some of the Account Security that Jagex is so infamously fond of pushing on everyone about. Who the hell wants to pay for security, when it is supposed to be an inherent part of the game, but they can't afford it? Honestly, Jagex went beyond too far here, and that's when it hit the point of RS looking to me like a nightmare to remain anywhere near. :( Stacked alongside this is the Dominion Tower Update. I got past the Bot Nuke fine, but the DTU blasted my framerates to hell permanently. No future update has caused the framerate to come back as of yet. I used to get ~30 fps in quiet areas, and only ever fell as low as ~10 fps in heavily lagged regions. Now, I'm lucky to get ~11 fps max in quiet areas, and laggy zones cause drop me to ~4 fps. This renders the game unplayable, and I can't afford new hardware either. Again, bad economy to blame for this. Worse, I can almost bet Jagex's servers are somewhat to blame as well, as they've seemed harder to connect to since that time. <_< (I'll stop the rant here...) So, before I go and sign this post off, I leave it to you to weigh the RuneScape game in your mind. Check the emotional drag it is putting on you, both in-game and in reality. If you don't find the positives of RS to be greater still than that drag, it is time to quit and leave RS behind before it can put anymore drag on you and/or cause any more damage in your life. If you're worried about leaving friends behind, leave a Status Update on your profile here on Tip.It Forums, and/or in your About Me section. If you have good friends, they'll understand and they won't try to make you hold onto the RS game, because they'll get how RS is pulling you down when you could be more happy with your life. :shades: ~D. 15. You're welcome. :) Already doing that. As I said before... ~D. V. "Am I sounding like a broken record yet?" Devnull (p.s.: Feel free to laugh at my hand-signed expense... LOL)
  16. Nc, I will assume that you've already authorized your computer for wireless access, seeing as you're at least getting to launch the game's loader. Please try switching from Wireless to Ethernet, and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, hopefully someone will be able to give a few more ideas from there. :-k ~D. V. "Try hardwired, perhaps?" 17. Banned for being like Sonic The Hedgehog, and replying too fast. :P ~D. V. "Here, have a Speed Bump!" Devnull
  18. Banned for getting buried in a snow flurry. :P ~D. V. "That would most certainly put the chill on a fire-type..." Devnull
  19. And why would you do something so mean and painful as ninja kicking my butt? What did I do to deserve that? =O

(p.s.: Are we starting a running joke or something? =P ...)

  20. Hey, Rainy, you didn't say what board they're on! BTW, is Randox really a "she", or is the reason their gender's not posted because they're really a "he"? :o [/joke-with-curiosity] Randox, all my joking and weird curiosity aside, congratulations on joining Tip.It's Forum Staff and becoming one of the Board Moderator bunch! ~D. V. "Woot! We got another Board Moderator!" Devnull
  21. Here's some screenshots, finally... (Sorry for the extreme delay!) ----------------Tip.It Theme----------------- --------------IP.Board Theme--------------- -------------------(Wrong)------------------- --------------------(Right)--------------------- Basically, Deflection and Tip.It Theme are doing it Wrong and indicating as if a New Status was only a Reply, while IP.Board and CleanCut are doing it Right and indicating New Status posts properly. With these screenshots of the "Recent Actions" column, you can see a good side-by-side (well, as close as I could get while fighting with an Image Editor's Cropper, FireFox, and the two different theme's own font settings) comparison of the dark themes versus the light themes, showing exactly where New Status markers aren't being shown on the dark themes. And thankfully, it looks like Status Replies by the Status's Author are unaffected by this bug. :geek: I would almost bet just about all that's needed is like a code copy or such to fix this. :shades: (Knowing my luck, I totally didn't properly get your more recent post to me. Shame on my brain, eh?) As for this... Uh... I think I covered this already? :o <*checks above*> Yup, I did. I'm already heads-up on that, this time. Here's the quote from me about it... BTW, I am glad to hear that the skins have been already put on the to-do list. At least this thread will help in nailing this particular bug. :) ~Mr. D. V. "I like doing to Bugs what I do to Vampires... KILLING THEM!" Devnull
  22. I'll work on getting some screenshots up soon to give a side-by-side comparison between "IP.Board"/"CleanCut" and "Deflection"/"Tip.It Theme" in order to show what I'm talking about. Stay Tuned! :geek: ~D. V. "Beginning to think I should have had screenshots in-hand before I started this thread..." Devnull
  23. Bah, I forgot to indicate where on the page I'm seeing this. D'oh! #-o Look at the column on the right side (where the most recent updates are listed) of that page I linked to, and toggle across the different themes. If you don't see it still, post back and I'll work on getting some screenshots up. ~D. V. "Sorry about the lack of description... Does this help?" Devnull
  24. Hi again, Tip.It Staff... :) I must be a powerful bug hunter or something, because I've just tripped over another bug by total accident. I feel utterly embarrassed that I didn't take notice of this before now. Over on the "Status Updates" Feed Page, located at http://forum.tip.it/statuses/all/, viewing in the "IP.Board" and "CleanCut" themes results in proper indication of a 'New' status posting. However, and this is the bug, viewing the page on "Deflection" and "Tip.It Theme" themes (basically, all the dark ones) causes the username of the status poster to display instead, as well as show it like a reply to a status. If I had to take a guess, I would say some code is missing from those two darker themes. :-k Anyway, I already understand a forum update is pending, so don't go crazy on me please! I'm posting this to make sure you're aware of the bug, in order to enable it to be fixed after the update. (Please?) Heck, I figure this is low-priority as well, so I'll patiently wait for it to happen whenever you'll get a chance and feel up to fixing it. Until then, I'm buzzing off, but listening in from the background. :shades: ~Mr. D. V. "The B.B.F. (Background Bug Finder), reporting in!" Devnull
  25. Banned for thinking ieyfura is a 'he'... Now, go have a look at her profile. :shame: ~Mr. D. V. "Now women won't want to be near you..." Devnull
