I could not disagree harder with the second article. The first was okay, but didn't really get me thinking. Quite a shame. Still, the second article... No, just utterly and totally no.

Exactly. For being out for several months, I have only one of its tasks completed, whereas I completed all other diaries within the first 3 days they got released post-Varrock. Granted, if I set my mind to it (read: few stews and boosts) I could propably complete a few more, but I'd still not be able to complete the entire diary.

People still complaining about lack of High-level content? Excuse me. I'm still trying to catch up to the extreme Fishing, extreme Herblore, extreme Prayer, extreme Slayer and (sorta) extreme Hunter updates we've been given the past few months. Granted, YOU may already have achieved those levels, but I haven't. I don't need to be blown away with epic content every week. For one, it ruins the feeling you get when you actually do get such an update. For the other, I don't like being forced subconciously to grind levels to enjoy new content. As for this week, I can't say I mind at all. I'm usually busy throughout the week, so D&D's are a perfect way for a casual approach to your every day stuff. If not for them, I would've never been able to get the Woodcutting, Mining - and to lesser extends: Runecrafting, Agility and Summoning levels I have today. I've been wanting to up Fishing for a long time (to 80 at least, for SC) and I was REALLY dreading the mindless grinding involved. Free fun XP every 90 minutes for a total of 10 times a week? Can't complain with that one. Why should you? Quests, though fun and enriching, are contemporary. Skill content is just another way to grind x skill, just being faster/slower/more expensive/more profitable than grinding the y-method.

Optimising Familiarisation bonus
Unknown_Warrior replied to Unknown_Warrior's topic in Help and Advice
Your number seem unusually high. A guy I talked with had significantly higher melee stats than mine (99s) and only got as much Crimsons as I. :o Well, I've made a thread about this yesterday and basically everyone advised me against CT Waterfiends. --- Confusing... -
I'm currently doing 40 minutes of triple charms by killing Waterfiends as a task, with Extreme potions and using Piety. This nets me roughly 130-160 Crimson charms in 40 minutes. Just wondering if there's more efficient spot for me to gather charms in said 40 minutes. My stats:
-
Dragonfire by a large amount.
-
Dunno whether this has been posted yet or not:
-
Do you mean the stats listed (ie: 70 Prayer) or the recommended stats (85+ combat stats). If so, no for the former, doesn't matter for the latter (but it'd help).
-
Berserker ring (i) has +8 strength. Onyx ring has +6 in all offences and defences, but not in Strength/Prayer/Range strength/Mage bonus.
-
Why obviously? But okay.
-
Where at? Chaos tunnels or ancient cavern. Ancient cavern.
-
Alright. One question: Onyx ring (i) or Berserker ring (i)?
-
Just a question to see if it was possible for me to use the CT instead of the Ancient cavern... I'll be using a Unicorn Stallion, Verac's flail, Extreme potions, Slayer helmet and Piety. Stats:

Why that does tie in with the NPC, it does not tie in with the idea of Shattered Heart. Remember, it's a minigame rewarding the NON-VIOLENCE aspect of the game. Giving a reward that is directly associated with combat/violence kinda moots the point. Kind of like the other potential spoils I hear about: Dahmaroc's staff, his armour, new spells. All awesome, but does not fit in with the concept. Moreso, it'd be major slap in the face to any skiller who plays this (for whom this D&D is partially intended) to get such a reward: "Congratulations for 30 weeks of dedicated skilling, we'll award you with an ability to change your spellbook (even though you'll probably never use a spell in your life)!"

Just so you know, I've done Deadfall-trapping for Hunter today (at Sabre-toothed kebbits). It seems to be a bit better than Falconry as I got my first rock in 8 traps, though I know this sample is way too small to confidently pull data from, it's something to consider.
-
As it happens, I do have money to blow. Can you casually PM said spot?
-
I think you can, but then comes the point at which you say "do I want to do a quick task quickly, little effort and profit" or "do I want to do a quick task even quicker with quite a bit of loss"........ And I'd say swamp titan tbh. Generally the highest combat familiar you can. I want to finish a task as quickly as possible in any circumstance, even if at a great loss. And I don't use familiars that train Attack or Strength.
-
Can't you setup a Cannon and hide behind a pillar or something and have it collectively attack all the monsters in the room? And I seriously doubt melee would be faster for me. What is a good combat familiar for these anyway? Stats;
-
<_< As I said, I know where the dungeon is. That's not what I'm asking.
-
As it stands, I have a task of ~230 Dust devils. Now I've heard that you could cannon these in the Smoke dungeon, and I'm wondering where this'd be (the spot in the dungeon, not the dungeon itself). Thanks in advance.

15-Mar-10 Lumbridge Catacombs & The Blood Pact
Unknown_Warrior replied to Toad's topic in General Discussion
Excellent quest considering it's novice. The design of the dungeon is superb, while the rewards are very decent considering for whom they're aimed (many people in this thread seem to forget that). It doesn't always have to be epic content. Agreed on the 300QP helm though, I was expecting slighty more for something that takes so long to get... Where can this be found?
