The "Value" of Charms
Sure, but only for a level 88. For me it's 7th. For me too. Not all of us have 85 slayer. Whatever, but the point getes across, they're the 7th. You may not have the requirements to kill the first, second, third, whatever, but it doesn't make them any better. [hide=][/hide] Except we're talking about some level 88 that doesn't want to train summoning. Am I the only one that sees the humour in comments such as "we're talking about some level 88 that jibbery joo etc...?" Seems a bit discriminatory to me, levelist even. Help, the thought police have arrived! Let us not discriminate against one anther's combat levels. We were talking about a hypothetical "level 88" with cheap weapons and equipment as someone who would sell charms instead of using them, since it's fairly safe to assume the majority of high level players would want to use them instead.

Looks to me like your using a rune c' bow, which would obviously provide a much lower profit. I've done plenty of tests in 2 hours streaks, and I'm fairly confident in my numbers. I'm still not a big avansie fan, though - I don't need the money and I don't currently see a reason to train range.- The "Value" of Charms

Never do werewolf. Either camp at wildy until 70, or do brimhaven, then switch to Ape Atoll at 70 and don't look back until 89.- Maging metal dragons
Earn the money and barrage lobsters to 94, or you'll get it and regret it later when you have 17m XP from bursting lobs (looks at magic XP and whistles). Otherwise just fire wave away...- accuracy?
It lies more in skill the bonuses; I can hit quite frequently when wearing full veracs with a -14 magic bonus, yet still splash a lot with +112 bonus.- Avianise stratagies
Why not? The profit is much greater, and you don't have to bank nearly as often. Try my method; at your range level, I guarantee you will make over 550k an hour if your fast and practice a bit.- Barrow Equipment
Yes, it has the same stats. The KB is your friend.- 70 to 80 Range at Blue Dragons - setup help!
i doubt 70 range would cut it there. cuttingyews - would steel bolts work just as well? and does ava's accumulator attract mith bolts? Just as well as it would at blue drags. Steel bolts are HORRIBLE, never use any bolts below addy. okay. how many addy bolts do you think i'd need? thanks for the help by the way. Go there with 1k to start off with, then do however long of trips you want.- 70 to 80 Range at Blue Dragons - setup help!

Do avansies instead, plenty of guides out on that. 3 times the profit and XP of blue drags.- Getting rid of Junk...
Dump em into the GE at min, and wait a few weeks. Elsewise buy something like an animal mask or god page on the GE, then turn around and sell it.- Bunyip or terrorbird
You have to drop 12 items after going in, bank, summon it afterwords, pick up the items, put them in... It's very annoying, and faster just to bank. Bunyip will help a little, but not much. No really great summons there until you hit 88.- castle wars set up
[/hide] Pking may be pointless I defend myself but without pkers the game is pointless 10 pro cwers versus 100 pkers = victory for the pkers. :) Not a chance, the best the PKers can do is tie, because no one scores. All the pro cwers need is 2 flag runners and 8 ancients - freeze the 100 pkers that cluster around the flag runner, and he's home free.- Earn 10m a week no work!!
Attempted price manipulation at its finest. Let me guess, you invested heavily in these pots, then when it was revealed that PKing wasn't coming back this month, they began falling and you can no longer sell, so your hoping to make us buy yours? ;) Don't buy them, they're obviously going to crash.- Avianise stratagies
does prayer flashing work good? No. Rune knives hit FAR too fast, and it slows you down significantly. Considering how fast you kill them, you have to be efficient about picking up drops and attacking the next one.- Runescape : good for you ? or bad for health ??
You have a very lax position on surgery (which is definitely intriguing)! I would be devastated if I "required" surgery also can you really call any surgery "minor" it's still an intricate process that takes years of schooling and observation before they even let you into the operating room... Nonetheless I've known office professionals who spend their entire day in front of a computer monitor and have no visible degradation of eyesight aside from a bit of "eye fatigue" by the end of the day. Being somewhere near an open window can help out a lot. Focusing on the computer can "bore" your eyes so stimulate them with a greater amount of the light spectrum! The surgury I was talking about is called laser eye surgery it's a very minor procedure that cam fox any major problems with sight, although I'm far from an expert on laser eye surgery I am fairly certain that the effects of it are minor. True, but it does cause increased halos\glare and worsens night vision, bad for driving. I am frequently on the computer for 6-7 hours without a break; simply focus on something far away every once in a while. No vision problems whatsoever.- Avianise stratagies
I guess I'll never convince anyone that there's a way beyond the accepted 'tanking' method. :boohoo:- castle wars set up
I'll agree to disagree on the rest- we're throwing the same points back and forth and never are going to make any headway. I don't have anything new to say because you haven't convinced me anything I've said is wrong, and I'm sure it's the same for you. This part, though- I flash piety pretty well. Been doing it over a year, and can do it accurately while reading/watching videos (which I always do while slaying- got seasons 1-4 of House off my friend recently, that's a lot of slayer :P). It doesn't slow down anything, and it costs a LOT less. Like, enough less that I would have to make a lot MORE than 800k or whatever you said to make it worth turning it on full time. It's the perfect balance between cost and exp rate. I don't use any prayer potion at all because I always take an SGS on tasks with me. I would take this up with Zarfot in a second if I was on speaking terms, but unfortunately I'll just have to sit here and know he's wrong. Ok, we'll leave it at that, and let the OP decide. I was just about to post that if we went through another round :-#. I'll leave the unbiased numbers up so that the OP can decide: If you want to hit 4% harder at a cost of 17.6m, get bandos. If you want to get hit 25% less at a cost of 600k, get barrows. As for piety flashing, its fairly easy with godsword but a bit of a pain with a whip. I can't help but feel that it has to significantly slow down your tasks - you can't do the 2 square jump trick to get to the next monster, and picking up drops\drinking potions requires more, carefully timed mouse clicks.- Runescape is dying. Topic is back after a few months -LooK-
I really don't see this massive decline in numbers, especially when you consider that 60k members, bots and otherwise, quit. Perhaps I'm blind, show me where the big decline in the past few months is.- Avianise stratagies
At your range level, you should be making a LOT more then that, at least 600k profit\65k XP per hour. Your using +10% range and rune knives, right? Broad bolts, no boosting prayers. Can you show proof of 600k profit per hour? Last time i checked rune knives were expensive, 430 each i believe. This would eat into over 200k of your revenue per hour. I don't see how rune knives can give 800k revenue per hour whilst broad bolts give 500k revenue / hour. Please don't post again if you have no proof. When I did timed trials of rune knives, down to the second, I averaged 238 kills per hour. Considering that the coin drops cover the 1.4 knife loss per avansie plus the prayer potions, the profit from addy bars is the sole money earner. And don't forget to figure in that your getting over 60k XP\hour, much better then broad bolts. I went there with broad bolts, and recorded each hit, attacking only the 68 and 71 in turn. My results: 23% 0s, average hit of 13.1. Not all that impressive, I'm not sure why they're considered so great.- castle wars set up
Fair enough, but if he wants to spend money on the best melee armor in the game and use it for Castle Wars, I don't see anything wrong with that. It's useful everywhere. It's not the best melee armor, and the only places it could possibly be useful are Bandos and (I'm still unconvinced) Sara. If you hardly ever get hit, then 25% less hits doesn't mean much. Add to that the fact that there are other major factors in how hard you're hit than just armor (like, oh, DEFENSE LEVEL), and the difference is almost negligible after a certain point. The smaller a number is, the smaller a given percent of that number is, so if you're getting hit all the time Barrows over Bandos makes a big difference. If not... not so much. Plus, Bandos has more ranged defense if I recall correctly. Ranged tends to be a bigger problem for me than melee. +1 more range defence? How much have you played castle wars, in my 500 or so games I don't recall having much of a problem with rangers. I do, however, recall getting mowed down by teams. Again, who cares about dying? If you're flag running, you're in Karil's/Armadyl anyway. Like I said, I'd rather spend my time fighting then dying; running back and repotting are annoying. Yeah. Statistics- learn them. Not a whole ton of difference in the short term between 1/500 and 1/1000- they're both just really unlikely. If they're so unlikely, how come I die at least 3 times a game? And how significant is +4% strength, along those lines? Obviously I'm not powertraining melee- 99 in everything. To all of your prayer in proselyte is better for slayer garbage- I flash piety AND wear Bandos, which is better than any of your methods. As for boss hunting, Sara GWD works pretty well in Bandos, since almost all of the damage you take is ranged from Bree and, as mentioned earlier, Bandos has a huge ranged defense bonus. Plus, with a unicorn and SGS, it's not like my team tends to outlast me in terms of supplies, so offense is much more important than defense there. Same deal with Zamorak and Bandos, come to think of it. Obviously it doesn't work well at Armadyl, but that's because you're ranging. Not likely. Piety flashing still takes quite a bit of prayer, and requires full attention, which significantly slows down the overall monster killing. Proslyte and steady prayer are far better; talk to Zarfot about that :- Avianise stratagies

Ok. Barrows is 17m (3350%) cheaper, with 46 (25%) extra slash defence. 25% greater defence is significant, 4% greater strength is not. 17.6m is significant, 526k is not. Consider that you are usually under attack by more then one person, but never fighting more then one, and that 25% is multiplied by anywhere from 2 to 8. Watching bandos plummet farther is significant, paying 75-150k to repair barrows once every 67 games is not. Assuming that I, as a regular slayer and monster hunter, already own a set of Bandos and barrows (not an uncommon situation), the cheaper choice is to take out my Bandos. 25% extra defense isn't going to cut down too much on the 5% of attempted hits that don't do 0 damage on me. Losing HP just shouldn't be a huge concern at level 130+, and armor bonus becomes meaningless after a certain point. Ok, point by point. I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and assume that the OP, who is using d hide and a glory ammy, doesn't happen to have a spare set of Bandos laying around in his bank, meaning that barrows would be roughly 34 times cheaper. 25% is going to cut down 1/4th of the hits, exactly as the statistic implys. +4% strength is going to result in 4% higher hits, which isn't going to help too much. Think of it as hitting 1 higher every couple of hits that you actually land. Losing HP as a level 130+ happens to be a big concern unless you like to flag run underground, which the OP obviously isn't trying to do. Judging from the OPs armor and the fact that he's planning to do PKing, I'm going to assume dying is somewhat of a concern for him, as I die 4-6 times a game when PKing. If he's flag running, he should be in Armadyl. If he's defending, he should be in Ahrims. Armor bonus becomes meaningless after a certain point? What? Your saying that there's no difference between +150 slash and +200 slash defence? I really can't think of a single thing bandos is good for - If your power training melee, Zombie monkies with 110k XP\hour require proselyte. If you can make more then 328k per hour, which anyone with over 70 range can, proselyte and +10% strength pray is better then Bandos for Slayer. If you make more then 720k per hour, Proselyte and Piety are better then bandos. You have to make in the 5m an hour range for Bandos and Piety to be better. As for any boss hunting, with the possible exception of Bandos where you are never hit, Barrows soundly trumps Bandos. - Avianise stratagies
