Creation of JUNK!
Fletching willow longbows is probably the worst AND most marketed way to make junk. Look at it this way: your making ~"50k" in "junk" per hour. Fletching XP is very bad, nothing compared to yew longs - and no one says you even WANT to train fletching. Are you trying to say you have no way of making more then 50k an hour? I could easily name half a dozen money making methods over 500k an hour, and there are hundreds over 300-400k. Don't bother with trying to create "junk"; there is currently no easy made junk item.

Familiars and Ranging
Neither does mage, if you want to be specific. Mage is even worse, as the "holding" spells, designed to balance out the skill, keep your familiars from helping. I wish your familiar would attack when you would, instead of when you were under attack. Scrolls are a little expensive for everday training, and worse yet take up a combat round, meaning that you get to fight less. Oh well, use a BOB or healing familiar instead. :

i can now make cubes!!!
Gratz. Cubes rule, but they splash a lot. With maxed mage bonus (except for 3a ammy, I'm not giving up fury's bonuses) and 99 magic, I splash a lot on mid-high levels in melee armor, with almost any spell. One 113, in full rune, was decimating me. I splashed 4 times in a row... with ice blitz, +116 magic, and +15% mage. I'll have to try again when I get my wolpertinger and see if the +7 magic bonus from that helps any. Cubeifying is still fun, albiet expensive/ \

Rune mining in wildy
This belongs in help and advice, but I'll answer. Yes, I believe it still is, but some decent armor and prayer are recommended. Pray range and head behind the nearest tree, then log and hop. Not too difficult.

Do we need more Account Security in Runescape?
Yes, but think of all the legitimate retired players that simply cannot remember many details, but would like to have their account back. Jagex could easily tighten up and get rid of most of these "hackers", but in doing so many legitimate retired players could not get their accounts back. Its all about striking a balance, really; and between IP logging and account tracking, they seem to be doing OK on this end. Without looking at how many legitimate players try to recover their accounts, we really can't point fingers and say Jagex is at fault. Which would you rather, a 1/10,000 chance (random guess) of being hacked after retiring, or a good chance that you won't be able to get your account back if you've forgotten your passwords and do not have them saved (or they were deleted)?

Windows Vista vs. XP [discussion]
So, which do you prefer and why? I used to hate vista; even on my high end machine it felt like a slow, bloated resource pig. I downgraded to XP and loved it; my bootup times were under 18 seconds with out a CF or SSD! I used that for a while, but strange errors and problems begin to pile up. I also missed the start search, breadcrumbs, and other handy features of Vista. `I finally decided to tackle it a different way: I installed vLite (A legal but Microsoft-hated tool for stripping the parts that you don't want out of Vista. I knocked out roughly 3.2 of the 4 GB Vista installation files, while leaving everything I would possibly use, including games. I integrated all of the updates, along with SP1. I put it on a flash drive, booted off of it, and proceed to install it. The instillation, from the time I turned on the computer to the time I was at my desktop was less then 10 minutes. And that's with a 20$ flash drive! From then on, I was more and more impressed. I did quite a bit of tweaking, taking out services and other things I did not need. My entire Vista install was under 3 GB on disk! With vLite, its possible to make an install file of 285 MB (Windows XP is 550), and an extracted size of roughly 850 MB (Windows XP is several GB when its all said and done). However, that took out some features that I thought I might need, so I was happy with mine. I went back to classic, disabled all startup items, then sat back and started using it. The verdict: Vista just needs a little slimming down. It now runs far faster then XP, and I mean fast. Startup is a very short procedure (Haven't timed it), shutdown is ~3 seconds. Firefox launches in roughly 1 second, and the machine never bogs down with 30+ windows open. Prefetch and Superfetch are obviously doing their job quite well; I can't remember the last time besides restarting I waited for my computer to catch up! Photoshop takes a couple of seconds to load the first time, 1-2 seconds after that. Sure, this is a good system, but Vista is running far faster then XP ever did. My only complaint is that hibernate takes slightly longer then in XP, as Vista appears to write all 4 GB of information in the RAM down, instead of just what's running. Which is fine with me, as that way it also seems to save the memory caches. Bottom line: I dislike Vista, I'm OK with XP, I really like vLited Vista. I use many older programs and software, but have had no compatibility problems. Networking works better, faster, and smoother then in XP. Go vLited Vista!

DFS?
DFS should be a free, common drop, and defender should be 25m+. I've had a DFS for a long time, and I love the looks, but its worthless for melee. Maging\ranging in PVP where you are under attack is the one thing it is good for. +45 slash isn't worth a significant drop in attack bonus, and dd++ specs are far, far more effective in defender vs. DFS. So buy it if you plan to range or mage in PVP, but leave it in the bank any time you want to melee. Get 68 summon, and the small defence advantage will suddenly look even more insignificant. I virtually never have to pray melee on black demons in proslyte, aside from +15% strength, thanks to summons. I used to use DFS for everything, until I tried out my defender again. DFS has its (small) uses, but defender is king for anything melee.

investing
Have you looked at the price graph? They are fairly stable, and unlikely to make you much profit. Flipping items works much better then investing, anyway; Just use ~50m for flipping and fast profits, then use the rest for short and long term investing. Master wands were set to skyrocket when I bought for mid the other day, but now they can't be bought at max price. Not FTP though. Stay out of investing unless you have at least 10M, although you can start trying to flip air runes with around 700k. I like to flip them in 100k amounts, but they really don't provide that great of a daily income. Still good for roughly 30 seconds of work; retrieve runes, write it down in the log, put them back up, collect cash, log, buy more, repeat.

Worst scam before Unbalanced trade removal?
Trust game. It was so convincing that I saw people being scammed, told them so politely, then watched as they laughed at me - and lost their items. Buying\Selling scams were bad for unprepared traders - the old "warrior for whip" scam was very common. So were the "arena book, 2 guthans chainskirts, 2 verac's skirts etc." scams. I love the trade limit, RS is so much better with the majority of the scammers gone. In W2, scammers usually traded me more then legitimate customers. As for mechenting, I never made much on w2, maxing at 1-1.5m an hour. Now with the GE I can make 2m easily with 5 minutes work. Sorry to turn this into a rant or what-you-may-call-it of sorts, but I really appreciate the updates, including the GE.

Do we need more Account Security in Runescape?
No. Account security is almost exclusively the users job. As for length of password, do you realize that virtuallyy no passwords are broken by brute force; even cracking an 8 character password over the internet is basically impossible without the hash (And I'm sure Jagex secures their servers enough to prevent that). A few stolen accounts might come from dictionary based brute force attacks, but I'd like to think that not many people are dumb enough to use simple words for their password. I'd be willing to bet that a very high percentage of hacks are due to keyloggers. It takes a real techie to mount a brute force attack, and the chances of success are low. If they could brute force, you'd think someone would have hacked into, say, Duke Freedom or Zezima's account? Sure, their passwords are probably long and complicated, but length is the only thing that matters in brute force. Mathmatically speaking, its impossible for anyone to crack a decent length password over the internet without the hash, unless they have large rings of zombie computers. Anyway, keyloggers are the ones responsible for nearly every hack, and the blame lies directly on the user. All the security in the world Jagex could think of could be easily thwarted by a keylogger, and it doesn't make a difference if your password is 8 or 20 characters long. These are due to people not having updated antivirus\spyware, and\or downloading things that they shouldn't (limewire etc.). Jagex can't change these things; its all the end users fault. And I do know what I'm talking about, I've removed dozens of malicious programs from customer's computers, and any one of them could easily be used to "hack" a runescape account. Keyloggers are almost pathetically easy to set up and run; any half decent script kiddy can try and hack a runescape account. Basically all Jagex can do is secure their servers, which they seem to be doing quite well. Stop trying to blame them; its our (or brother\sister\wife\mother\father\cousin) fault. I never worry about changing my RS password or being hacked; I'm considering removing my PIN. Feel free to quote this post and try to argue, I'm in a good arguing mood right now. \

Is barrows very profitable anymore?
Meh, it depends. If your fast, efficient, high level, and willing to speed through everything like a machine, you can make decent (~400K) an hour profit. If you do 1-2 trips per run and lollygag around with a godsword and whatnot like most barrowers I've seen, expect mabye 200k. I aim for 8 minute runs, including banking; I don't always hit that depending on my tunnel brother, but its not that far off. That was back when I did barrows for a couple of days steady, made roughly 12m off of very lucky drops.

When and where to use "Noob"
DEFINITLY not at castle wars. I stopped playing that because I got tired of 5 guys ganging up on me and calling me a noob for kill a few of them then dieing. /facepalm (<-Let's get a smiley for that) Yeah, castle wars used to be horrible for me as a level 83. Then again, I had no clue what I was doing, and nowadays I can't stand those people that destroy your carefully placed barricades because they "need to get through". Sometimes I really wish we could attack our teammates... I've found that the higher level I get, the less I get called noob. Obviously there are still the jerks that will insult you no matter what, but I've found that summoning a geyser titan and wielding a godsword at level 132 seems to discourage the "noob" comments. I really don't get bothered by insults, I just turn "infuriatingly logical", and counter their every insult with the most complicated phrases I can manage without getting killed by my horrible spelling. Its actually kind of fun for me. Still, the only times I see fit to use the word noob is in a "retort" i.e. when someone calls you, say, a "defence noob". Just reply with "strength noob" or "armor noob" or "weapon noob". It doesn't help much, but its interesting to see their reactions. Thankfully those calling me "x noob" are low enough level to be taken out in a few hits... or farcasted and prayed against if I'm in a noob extermination mood (The main reason I bring ancients to fight pits...). I find that very satisfying, however juvenile it sounds. I figure its an online game, a chance to escape from the pressures of everday life, not to take every insult you hear personally.

Guide to Extremely Fast Melee XP
No, borrowed items have dots on them. Get it right. Anyway, went to that spot. +15% strength and geyser titan for range XP, camping with prayer pots. Averaging well over 100k XP\hour. I'd bet with piety it could approach 110k total, but I found myself being limited by the monkey spawn times even in a full world (Much better then DT, though). I think this is my new training place... now delete this guide before it changes into green drags... or dt skeles... or tanning dragonhides... or avansies... or ankous... or plank make... or enchanting bolts... or chinchompas... or all the other great things that got killed by a few guides. Especially green drags, I used to make over 800k an hour there with my method. Now its 5 level 100- to each world, so many that even with piety and max strength bonus I can't get half the kills I used to. Anyway, nice guide, and I hope this method dosn't become too popular! (Prayer potion requirement should scare people off)

Windows don't overlap?
Resize the rs window and the show window so they don't overlap. If you don't have enough space, there's no simple way to do this without z-indexing.

I have presented you with a rant about the censor
"fixing" the censor, as you put it, requires far more time and effort that you apparently realize. Making a censor that can take out almost every way that offensive words can be spelled is a huge task. Making it so that that censor never censors anything its not supposed to is an almost insurmountable task. Jagex has done a very good job on both accounts. Sure, a few things slip around, but most are fine. I rarely find myself inconvenienced by the censor; almost every time the problem is inadvertent starring of players names. Besides that, they are constantly refining it. I would commend, not insult, them. (And really, what's the big deal about "random gibberish" being censored?)

Ring of Wealth
It increases the chances of rare drops, in a minute someone will post the god letters post with the drop wheel slots >.> No one knows the exact amount it increases by, or even has a clue (I'd peg it at 10% as a random guess), but we do know that it does NOT increase coin drops at bandos, does not affect coinshare drops in any way, and only affects RARE drops. EDIT: I'm getting tired of people saying they got certain super rare drops without ring of wealth after taking it off; unless your sampling at LEAST 500+ of the rare drop, be it visages or hilts without AND with ring of wealth, you can't point to that as evidence. Guess what; I got a visage in under 100 iron dragon kills. That means that in the next 2k kills I did I should get 20 of them, right? No, I got zero. For good or for bad, ring of wealth does not change the percentages a large amount. Jagex says it increases rare drops. Period. That means visage, d legs, or whatever other miscellaneous drops people say it ruins. Again, don't post saying you got X rare drop without it, and none with it, unless you've gotten several hundred of X rare drop. (Which is, for all reasonable purposes, impossible). I don't see a whole lot of discussion value, and all I see is pointless, incorrect posts where people are trumpeting their opinions as facts. I'm sure someone will quote me and say the same thing about my post, but I actually am basing it off of Jagex's information instead of 1 lucky drop I got.

Does anyone know the EXACT time the GE updates?
Every item updates at a different time and length, in my experience more frequently traded or volatile items update more often then the rarely traded or stable ones. Some of the high cost ones, like SGS and AGS update less frequently then the lower cost ones like BGS.
-
Item Lending
To this I would add: SGS is the BEST for non-competitive (lootshare/coinshare) god wars or DKs, the healing makes you last WAY longer and use WAY less potions. BGS is a cheaper alternative to the SGS or AGS for monster hunting- the special can be killer if you hit high on a high defense boss. SGS is the best for "just killing things" IMO, can't beat that special. Use the extra prayer for turning piety on for a while between specs- this makes it more powerful than any other weapons. Free piety = win. AGS is the best for competitive boss killing where lootshare is off, but if you're not doing that, SGS is better and BGS is arguably better (boosting the hits of the whole team for the whole kill vs. adding 25% to two of your own hits). I've got to say I don't entirely agree with those views. Admittedly I've never owned one, but as I said before I've done quite a bit of research. SGS would not be as useful as for some due to my unicorn, but could still be used in many places and I am favoring this one. BGS special is GARBAGE, I almost always miss on high level bosses. AGS is nice in that it means I can get into any team, any time. I'd like to find out if the special is really worth that much.

Item Lending
Thanks for the advice, but I've EXTENSIVELY researched all of these (meaning watched at least 5 hours of video, read dozens of reviews, talked to 50+ people, posted several times on the forums, and bought the easy-to-resell two and tried them myself). I'm interested in hard data; specifically what percentage of an accuracy boost does the SGS special provide? How does AGS spec effect your base hit and accuracy? How well do both of them hit on certain armor combos? I need to try them myself, dueling the same person over and over and recording hard data. Thanks for trying to help though, and I'm not being sarcastic. As for my combat level, the only PCing I've ever done was to get 82 magic. I just don't like slayer, and what people think of that really doesn't bother me. :

Item Lending
Ah, so we made a forum. Except that no one wants to lend their godsword, and all us begging noobs are clamoring for one. Guess I gotta run around begging, I'm not going to drop 90M on an item only to find out I can't sell it and its not worth the money. As for the not paying, due to all the confusion about it I'd rather not risk it and get caught in the crossfire. I'd be willing to pay a few hundred k every hour of the day just to play with the ga... lets end that rythme. (sorry, random moment. Unusual for me...) Hopefully everything will settle down in a week or two and I'll be able to get my hands on one?
-
Item Lending
Is there a sticky here to request\offer item loans? I'd like to try a sgs\ags out for a few hours in the dual arena before I buy one, too hard to sell :wall: I looked for a sticky but didn't find one. I don't pay (Not risking getting banned), so finding a loaner will be hard.

Waterfiends, Guthan Style
Sorry, but this method just isn't that great. Sure, you can stay for long trips, but the bank is a minute or two away and guthans spear is a HORRIBLE weapon. I personally use near-maxed strength bonus + piety and a zammy spear (shared training). Yes, I have to bank every 130 crimson or so, but I can get well over 100 crimson charms per hour, and still come close to breaking even.

Offtime Runecrafting worlds, we need subtitutes
How often do those specific servers go down? No one knows about the substitute worlds, and it is simply too hard to convey them to the general RS population without lots of cooperation and LOTS of time.
-
Offtime Runecrafting worlds, we need subtitutes
Downtimes are so infrequent and far between that it really isn't worth it. The difficulties of communicating the world change to millions of RS players without Jagex's theming help makes it somewhat impractical. Its a nice idea, and if enough people try to do it it could possibly work, but I don't think there is enough need or interest to make it happen.

1UP reviews Runescape HD
To all those people that thought the graphics updates were not important, trying playing on a high resolution LCD screen. You either squint to see the tiny window, or lower the irresolution and deal with a blurry, non-native screen. Fullscreen alone would be amazing for me, and much to my suprise I f ound that the new graphics really increased my enjoyment of the game. Quests and boss fights are much more realistic and enjoyable. The only downside is a few annoying glitches, but I'm assuming they will be fixed. Jagex seems to be broadening its horizions; New graphics, new bank, raised subscription, lots of new stuff for ftp, Jagex store, Runescape novel, new player tutorial etc... Hopefully they'll attract plenty of subscribers, resulting in more income and hopefully updates.
