I know too many cool people from RuneScape to change the past. Sure I've wasted a nice amount of my life on this game, and they aren't people I know personally. I still don't think I'd change it. RuneScape has been helpful to me, it hasn't harmed me as much as it has helped.. Actions of the past, however, are a different story. But that's a different subject.

The ignoring thing has nothing to do with offline/online status. Turning chat on from friends n so on would, n then your topic would make sense. Beyond that I don't report them, merely because it's a waste of my time (if my public is on ever). Not like Jagex really does anything to them, let alone any bots currently.. Keep pchat to friends and -maybe- hope that Jagex does something eventually.

So like... This just happened: ALMOST RECORD FLOOR IN SO MANY WAYS :wall: . My fastest floor ever, and wasn't a speed team either, esp. since I was on the team lol. No one was recording but dat was gud. EDIT: K so I don't know much about how records are determined but this might be record.

On it cap'n. And here are a few of the floors that were good from 93-99 that I decided to screenshot: Faster floors and better death ratios to come :P. Just need 100 now, and then it's on to 120 and 200M :twisted: . 3 months for 120 pl0x.

How far do you think Jagex (or the investors) will actually take this, though? It's going to take a lot for them to release an update that can get much worse than this. They'd have to release full blown micro-transactions where you buy a blue phat for $1k or something ridiculous like that. Come to think of it, what if there were product placement in RuneScape? That would be pretty horrible playing an advertisement. I can see it now... You should reread my post. Read the bold lettering carefully, and see the year progression of Insight Venture Partner's control.. Your bolded text seems to have been removed from the wikipedia article and the article locked due to the revision that added that anyway - I'm doubting whether that is true of Insight. Their webpage doesn't seem to suggest anything of the sort There's some-odd stuff somewhere about MapleStory having the same issues as Rs is today (IVP owns shares there too). Loads of bots, microtransactions, no true players being all that happy.. Can't remember exactly what, cbb to grab it (did enough of that recently), and you're absolutely right but what company would want a bad rep? They probably removed that on purpose. And I would not doubt that the whole ex-chairman of Goldman Sachs thing is true. *points to rl economy*.

I remember back when people didn't want to make videos to help others just to get more popular, instead they just kept methods to themselves or let out the secrets to a select few. Granted this is hardly a secret, and not even close to good money anymore thanks to videos like this. Thumbsdown in terms of the quality of it being groundbreaking. Videos don't make a guide by my standards either. I like that long, thought out, well-explained post with the pictures. Ones that used to exist in Aow a lot. Oh well. Maybe next time you'll teach everyone something that isn't known =P. EDIT: To comment on the merch thing.. Merchanting involves strict participation with the community, player-to-player, yields massive profit, and is harder work (social relations required, also doesn't exist with the GE). Flipping involves quick-sales for small profit (under normal circumstances at least, usually determined by item value and %'s). <- what your video is. Investing involves a long-term commitment in buying and selling, can yield the highest % profits, has the least amount of work and is the slowest, usually. Rares are NOT a real item you flip, you merchant, you invest in unless you commit that long-term stuff, in which case it's purely based on trends and not even close to unpredictable under normal conditions. Also, it's hardly a decent way to make cash unless you're good at merchanting to begin with. MERCHING was coined by stupid pyramid clans that ruined Rs. Ge free-trade now does that by itself, on top of centralized wealth and many rich players. Grand Exchange is horrible.

There's benefits to making your own stuff and gathering your own stuff, like what you said. Your % profit per will go up, your feeling of 'achievement' will go up. It is not necessarily the best way to go about playing, since you can do things for quicker cash and spend the extra money on getting it done faster. Same goes for xp rates. For full DIY (no trading except quest-required things like Heroes/Shield of Arrav or NPC's), you can benefit by not worrying about the price of x items going down or up (that's my main benefit if I were to go full DIY), a different style of gameplay, more 'achievements' so to speak, larger challenges. There are negatives like effort and time spent, but the overall objective of a "Game" is to have fun. Just do as you please. After posting my first bit I remembered something that relates to this post. 8 years ago or so, when I first played RuneScape, I had been basically all DIY. I had bought a nice amt of items that were hard to find like Rune Battleaxe or the kiteshield, but up until I was a member, I got everything on my own from shops and the like. I can say with a nice amount of confidence that I was a happier scaper back before I did trading a lot or became member even.

If you turn the floating cooled pieces black, that is how I pictured Tokhaar-Kal. And it would look a lot nicer than the current one.. Well, moreso the cracks being flowing lava like on a Fire cape, and black plates of obsidian or just cooled magma over that part. A basic overlay of plates on a Firecape, that's all. That's still awesome. And rounded-off edges sort of, kind of like how the Tokhaar is currently. I dislike the jaggedness of the parts in the above picture. But it is pretty damn close to what I want to see. However, I think it's only going to be a cape redesign that follows a theme of the Tokhaars, and not just lava-ish crap. Really sucks. Even then the Fire cape would look badass as that :). PLEASE CHANGE FIRE CAPE JAGEX, PLEEEEEEEEASE <3333333.

Report them to Jagex, either under bugs somewhere if you can find it, and/or the Rs forums. There's a thread for FPS lag, or at least there was. Use that if it still exists.. Hope they fix this shit, sick and tired of 6-14fps when I can run 30-40+. EDIT: Technically it's your comp, but it's because it doesn't run the same shit that the game is coded for or somethng. I'm not an expert on details so yeh.. I have found fps picked up once on a particular server, for only one night though. After that it was destroyed once again. You can A: Report it to Jagex as I said and hope they fix it soon if at all, or B: Get a new computer just because RuneScape is being dumb about everything. I plan to eventually buy a new video card and psu for the ability to run Skyrim correctly, and hope that it functions for Runescape as well. No guarentee on that though :/.

Sounds exactly like me lol. Look into getting Diablo 3. US cost is ~$60. Overseas it's more afaik, like Aus costing something like $95 Usd. It looks really nice and I haven't heard much about the game even though I know a lot of beta players. It's kept it really unspoiled for me :). But yeah, nice post and definitely agree on all of it. Gl to whatever you should choose, you'll be happy with the outcome I think. Unless you decide to stay and Jagex does indeed [bleep] the game up more..In which case you won't need to decide. This. I've quit over less before. Not saying I will atm, but I can guarentee that I'll cancel in the future over this. I've dealt with F2P, just waiting for them to take that away, and then I'm pretty much done with RS. At that point I know they're just going to [bleep] it up more and I gotta get out of this game early, before I start feeling like I REALLY wasted my time and it's not worth playing. Got 99 Strength first, since it's the most helpful lvling and I was also contributing stupidly to a 4-person 99 party. 2 weeks later I got 99 def/att/hp at once. Would've been str too but ^.. NEVER will I give in like that again. Oh well.. Next 99s will probably be: Dungeoneering (Probably 120 before any of the below tbh..) Prayer Magic/Range Herblore Slayer Summoning

Large lamps are pretty rare still and very good xp, but constant xp like that from small/med is ridiculous.. They probably won't remove them without removing the buy option though.
