  1. Success rate, xp nerf, and alch nerf would be the easiest way to kill off the stupidity of the rune smithing currently. Then again, Rune wouldn't be so uncommon in f2p unless the success rate was well balanced. You can still get it as a drop, you can buy some or most off shops for a relatively low amount of gp. Members get rune so often off monster drops it wouldn't matter. Completely separate f2p and p2p GE transactions and maybe this would work well, I think. It'd make f2p crazily different, with unknown effects on the game itself on both p2p and f2p versions. It's an idea worth thinking about really but only because I like dynamic changes and this would change RuneScape largely. They'd also have to fill in a lot more gaps with new items, and probably add success rate somewhat like Ceremonial items in Art workshop to those P2P crafts such as shields, godswords and dragon plates. Spirit shields maybe not due to their rarity but probably have it be more beneficial by changing the way you actually smith them. That's something entirely different and I don't think it'd be as easy. On top of that, rare items such as dragon slices and whatnot might be destroyed? You'd have to require other semi-rare materials such as much more common (item name) ingots from something else (like dragon ingots from any metal dragon ingame, instead of rune bar drops or something), and let those be the items that destroy when you aren't successful instead. I haven't read your thread because I doubt most people have a good balanced suggestion/wasted my time posting this already. I'm sure Jagex has some tricks up their sleeves for the future of this but for the most part, they really don't take players' thoughts into consideration very often at all, at least saying so on a post/thread. I will tell you they either steal ideas or think of similar ones sometimes though (*cough* yeah sure Jagex, I see what you do). Keep being creative with suggestions and you might see something like yours in an update :). They will never give credit to a player for their idea.
  2. Think it's a stupid thread, no offense. Too much stuff we won't know until beta is out is involved, on top of the fact that none of it can be accurate due to testing stats etc. The 139 character is wielding a friggin' Dragon defender as a weapon..

    Hex Hunting

It's possible to get any slayer monster in any floor type. Some are rarer than others, and Soulgazers are the rarest of course. If my memory serves me I've never seen/heard of a Soulgazer in a furnished, abandoned1/2, or frozen floor. They definitely are more common in occults, and probably the most common in warped. Also, the more rooms spawned in a dungeon obviously mean more chances at seeing a monster. Solo med or a decent-sized large are best. Drop rate/spawn rates (not confirmed, just what I believe they are) for Soulgazers/hexes is about.. 1 Gazer/8-10 floors (large, 1+ 99 slayer), hex is ~1/16 Gazers. People devalue the Celestial surgebox in Dg too much. It's a very very useful bind, a lot more useful than a few precious seconds saved crafting cosmic or law runes. And if you have either for doing C1/2 floors, you should try doing 3-5 person C1s. They are faster than solo can ever be, as far as I'm concerned. You save more time by maging warriors than you do with those runes you have bound. Hoods are decent, a great bind if you know how to use it properly. I currently have one, and I constantly break it for plate/break plate for hoods. I went through 6 or 8 hoods in about 10 days now, trying to figure out which I like more and I seem to do better with the hood. Of course, it takes getting used to and knowledge. You should be unequipping the hood while mages are present (not skeletal ones) so that you can hide in another room/behind a blocking wall/chair/etc and re-equip it. That way you are using the hood to it's full abilities. Hex makes hood a hell of a lot better (imo), considering when I dungeoneer I usually solo Gd's. Mages get wrecked by my bow, and I can re-equip my hood or not have it disabled as often. Kiting and trapping monsters that are aggro to you are also another good technique for hoods. PBA and P2h have their own uses, due to their attack speeds and max hits/stats. They're close to the same in almost everything so there's not much worry there. Blood necklace is a great bind, but it's more for people with plates because if you're alone and have a hood, it won't do any healing effect + it's harder to crowd with a hood without dying. I'm not sure how often you die or whatever, but having no defensive bind (plate/hood) will make things a lot more difficult. It's generally not worth binding all offensives if you want to get better xp/h, or just have less of a hassle when enjoying dungeoneering. Here's my list of recommended binds (Definitely get a Celestial surgebox, foreveruseful): P2h/PBA - Plate - Blood neck P2h/PBA - Hood/plate - Empowered fire staff P2h/PBA - Hood - Hexhunter bow (break Csb for sagi (p++) arrows obv) P2h/PBA - Plate/hood - Primal gaunts All of those are subject to your opinion, there's no particular order. Once you hit 120, you have access to a 4th bind that is really dynamic. Here's a list of best-to-worst, Imo: Blood necklace (with plate) Sagitarrian body (pref with hood but works with plate, equip mostly when ranging, requires hex) Primal platebody (with hood/sagi body) Shadowsilk hood (competes with gauntlets because plate or hood alone are decent) Primal gauntlets Primal maul (for when you need to crush monsters, maul can make a big difference compared to P2h/PBA) Primal rapier (Only worth it if you don't have a staff for when you mage demons, it's only used for a few monsters/bosses) MAYBE Celestial robe top, as far as I know it's never been done by someone who's smart Primal plate+legs are probably smarter than Celestial robe top due to mage being accurate on mageables to begin with. My current binds are Hood/Hex/P2h/225 P++ Sagi arrows. Can survive fast floors with this setup, works well against most bosses. It's my favorite, also. Hope I helped.
  4. Thx for the unexpected b-day msgs.

  5. Ffffffffffff-KEKEKEKEHEHEHE ON VID?????!? HEHEKEKEKE Moonki mayse...KEKEKE VIDEOIN' TELL ME!!?? Too much salvia? What in the world are these guys on..
  6. Decided that today was the day I could finally sell feathers, and what happens when I first put in the offer? Insta-sold, very strange lol. And me noobing it up in dungeoneering.. [spoiler=OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE WARNING -Hide yo peepol] 3M from Kal'ger and P2h bind, then onwards another 52M xp :|. Btw, Praying wolf does NOT reduce damage from monsters in floors.
  7. I think there'll be a special drop or something for the weekend, and I would guess QBD is up next.
  8. Rip being almost higher dg than bruno :(. Got this in the floor with him after he got 111, I think. Check out da name of the king that gave me hex.
  9. Let me add in that pvp killing does not work the same way as pvm. You have two things to watch out for during pvp kills; you aim to kill them overall, but the chances are they will tele or run. So you also are going for a max hit KO to prevent that, unless it's a DM (no one ever does deathmatches anymore I think..). Just because it's high dps does NOT mean it has the best overall ability to kill a player. Chaotic crossbow is the best of both worlds, and is truly the king of the range game. I decided to solo Arma as soon as I got 99 range, with my EEK and Ccbow, and I'm pretty amazed at how well it performs. Dungeoneering may seem tough to grasp, but with a few guides and some practice, you can learn to not care about losing a chaotic in the wild. They are extremely cheap and easy to get after a certain point. @Powerfrog (above) I did not know the rates and such, thanks for the interesting info..Still isn't really worth it, seeing how obvious the difference is. That's probably a really large dif in damage for the speed boost msb will give. It's not exactly high up there overall anyway.
  10. Tormented demons use three prayers, changing to your last combat style after a fixed amount of damage with it. You should aim for using a chaotic crossbow there because of it's accuracy, and the damage the bolts can inflict is huge (500+ maxes with rigour, ovl and adamant bolts). I'd say the top 5 choices, in order from best to worse for pvp specifically are: (Include best ammo for each if possible, it makes a huge difference) Chaotic Crossbow Karils Crossbow Rune Crossbow Dark bow spec switch, with msb + rune primary Possibly tied or close to that of a Zamorak bow + arrows. Personally, I say Ccbow>Zamorak bow>Karils>Dark bow>Rune c'bow. Zaryte is really expensive and is probably only good with rigour and void, let alone including ovl/extreme range pots. Really cheap to use, however. Also, as far as I know, the God arrows deal the same damage as rune arrows in terms of rune arrow range strength. The actual effects come from the bow itself, if not only the special. Therefore, msb really isn't useful for them. MLB sighted might be considerable, but with the amounts of healing done in members pvp it's max hit isn't worthy of use.
  11. I'll look at the guide to see if it says burst or barrage rate, seeing as you didn't say which. Thanks for the confirmation and info, though.
  12. Alright, figured since I recently got 99 range, I might as well go for max combat. I've got a list of questions (if you can possibly answer) to help me calculate costs. It'd help me greatly to know any if not all of the following: XP per burst (have been told ~180/burst) XP per barrage XP/h for mage for either/both Charm rates per hour or average crimson per x kills I've got limited funds, hoping this doesn't cost a lot. I'm aiming for going from 90 to 95-99 mage, and hopefully enough charms to comfortably get 91-96 summoning. Already have about 18.2k banked (total charms), which should be enough for close to 88-90 from my current 75. If there are any guides you know of, please direct me to them. Thanks.
  13. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING FOR A WHILE. I got called stupid for it, even. Probably because people are so concentrated on getting the most xp with the least effort. I prefer to play the game I pay for than to just afk it so I get all the rewards or better items, areas, etc. Yes, it's somewhat acceptable to have stuff like bonfires or runespan for semi-afk exp that is better xp/h. Yeah, I can understand wanting the cooler stuff first, but this isn't Grand Theft Auto. It's not cheating, per-se, I will side with those who think there's so much in RuneScape to do. (opinionated) Content will get boring. However, the fact that there is a benefit to afking greater than the methods that are not is unfair. Runespan is in it's early stages and is testing this now. It was meant to help kill off rune supplies to make normal Runecraft profitable, or even good money. So far, it's done nothing. Too many runes come from combat, I suppose, but whatever. I don't want auto-retaliate to just be the best xp in rs for combat after this, IF IT GOES THROUGH. Style-changing monsters will be entertaining and challenging, and since some bosses do this anyway somewhat, it could benefit that end of Rs. Anyway, with all that said (aiming for people to agree with the above), a few things I think we should expect to see: -Style-changing during combat (probably won't be there during beta due to the overhaul for npc's), such as needing to switch to stab/slash etc. -All weapons having controlled/defensive/etc training if realistically possible on the weapon (I.E. Granite maul has no real control, so no controlled training option), no matter which attack style you choose to use. This would eliminate a large amount of weapons, but who knows. Perhaps damage will be higher, lifepoints increased, and weapon damage more based off of stats instead of skill level. Skill level would outright be for requirements in this case. (hoping for this because I suggested it after I saw how useless LP update was) -Two-handed weapons having defensive stats, shields and some armor possibly having offensive/more offensive stats. -Being able to set attack styles to X attack mode without resetting when switching. (such as being able to Crush on a Gravite 2h, then switch to a scimitar to slash without getting controlled xp. Normally it would turn to stab (controlled) with a scimitar switch from G2h crush). I can't imagine how they'd do that but I want it and it could happen depending on their system. -Character movement changes; Currently we use a point-click movement system (idfk the official term). With chats so heavily used in Rs, I doubt there will be WASD movement. Mouse control movement is more likely. Such as holding ctrl down to move the camera with the mouse, using the mouse for performing actions and whatnot, arrowkeys to move your character around. The second option would be like World of Warcraft movement, perhaps neglecting arrowkeys entirely, or using them for camera movement still. I do not expect a character movement change, but from an inexperienced point of view it could very well hurt bots' ability to function as easily. I mostly just want more sensitive and accurate camera movement. -IF MOVEMENT CHANGE IS INCLUDED, a very very messed up way of fighting. Kiting monsters will be harder, being able to dodge attacks such as boss specials in Dungeoneering also, etc. 2nd biggest reason I doubt movement change will happen. Top 3 are (1) the work behind all of it, (2) the severe amount of changes, (3) Jagex's history in going over the top revamping everything very quickly. This is a large project, but character movement is much larger. -Magic attack styles such as what is seen in the Moia saga for Dungeoneering, released last month. I have imagined this coming for years, and I really hope it does. Magic needs a little more 'oomph' behind it, in terms of regular spells. You can go ahead and say this or that is unbalanced, it'll ruin pvp/combat triangle, whatever. They can probably fix that with a few added effects or melee/range specialty content anyway. Bakriminel bolts already show part of what Jagex wants, too bad it's only one item.

    Bonfires

Think they deleted your character n made it level 3. Also, newly registered accounts get a kewl cape n stuff for FREE!!!@#!!!!!!!!!! Am kinda pissed because I don't get one. EDIT: Read 2 posts above, whoops. Not my fault rs website is slow as all [bleep] n doesn't load..
  15. It looks like WoW abilities mixed with a game from around 1996... *cough* Nox *cough*.. Hi DOS mmo online gaming!
  16. Jus' saying, Diablo 2 had much more [bleep]ed up level-xp ratios. I think 97 was halfway to 99, and 99 was like 3.7B xp..
  17. If you use IRC, get a BNC to help avoid ddoses. Pm me about it if you do. Call your ISP and demand an IP change because you're being ddosed online, maybe even state that it keeps happening on a game or something and explain why they would? Include RWT into the picture and I think they might even take action if they find out who did it o_O.
  18. Years ago, I heard of Rs ads appearing on tv. I never saw any in America, and only heard of it once.. Not sure it was true or not. Miniclip generation..That really didn't degrade Rs. But thanks for thinking highly. (Silently thinks to himself "Actually, I was an ass back then....") EDIT: Keep in mind they're trying to show some Runescape ads to those who have either never even seen the game, or do not play it/haven't played it in a while. You are a player who has seen this game as of recently, knows a good amount if not most/all about the game itself, be it quests or monsters or battle-styles. If I saw it I would think RuneScape was almost like...Dora the explora-type crap. Then again, people have played Wizards 101. That is death compared to this.. I'm sure they will have a massive increase in players due to it, if the ads aren't short-lived and are shown in a good-sized area.
  19. Craziest [bleep]ing weekend in Rs history. Brb buying lifetime setup for my account.
  20. You lose 10 pounds of body weight, and to celebrate you take a trip to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. I wish that sometimes the cute girl that I randomly speak to irl offered me contact info.
  21. Someone should write a god-damn book or a news column for this crap..So much..text....... And Nox get's all the ladies =(. Personally (decided to skip like 40,000 words, only posting to Nox) I think you've got somewhat of that 'filling the void' effect (just keep reading, it's not a huge deal). It's easy to be in love, but to actually love someone and be really good friends with them is hard to find in my books. That's what I feel a true relationship is, or at least one that's healthier long-term. I don't know how long yours last, and don't know how you feel about the girl. I feel that if an opportunity to try something new happens, I run with it. You never know where it ends up, and if it makes you unhappy overall, or off and on, end it. If something else blossoms with someone else and you think it's better than what you currently have (take it as seriously as you want, but imo feelings get cluttered and you can have bad decisions if not clear-minded), go with it until it's at that point you need to end your current relationship to start one with the new person. But, that's me. Cynical in a way, seems logical, may or may not work. I try to learn from past mistakes and what I felt comfortable with also. Running with it definitely is a good choice, though. Worst case scenario is they're worth leaving alone for a little bit :P. Overall: Make your partner or whatever happy, equally as happy as you are or better. Don't get into super-serious relationships when you really aren't ready (look on the past for better insight). Do have fun and not [bleep]ed up emotions, I really hate it every time I get into that.
  22. My uncle's cat with the latest fashion in Feline, the "Lion cut". I lol'd.
  23. Mine also got worse recently. Decided to basically not play RuneScape until a fix comes. And lol @ runespan. The only thing I can look forward to is being able to murder death/blood esslings (they better look cool), and Runecrafting not being BORING. In all cases, I probably won't be able to run RS on runespan release day at this rate :-# . Yes, I am kind of mad lately :(.
  24. I hate it when I go to log in and RS is [bleep]ing down :(.. I wanted almost 105 dungeoneering today. Now I'm like 4h behind.. All I can say is that A) Somebody spilled the tea on the server lines again B) Tip.it Forums has about 300 new registered users EDIT: Gonna try a few things. Playing classic, and loading the french/german servers.
