  1. Tip.It guides lack content. I'm not really an avid gamer anymore but certain things that I checked weren't updated or as clear as I wish. I'm making a complaint now because it's been years with very little change to the site (granted new updates like gano area guide and nex, etc.). For example: http://www.tip.it/ru...ng_guide.htm#FT It lacks detail on areas, XPrates, etc. Not just the most popular, but abstract areas brand new players could either know about or the more "veteran players" that later on if it's changed to be good use (Beefy bill and Karamja exchanger NPC's, for example). Some areas may be even unpopulated or the spawn areas for that gathering may be shorter distance between than others. The fish guide, my example, lacks specification on rivers. Which rivers? All rivers, literally? Which area content is F2P and which is P2P? Which parts of the guide are F2P and P2P unless color-labeled like so? It's just a big hassle (me switching from F2P to P2P gameplay all the time due to having multiple accounts) and not knowing which will either waste the most time, I.E. powerfishing herring, over something like exchanging Tuna+Swords. It'd be great to have color-labeled XP/h or something like that for gathering skill guides. I saw one guide like that and it was very helpful. It aimed towards lower-end players', mid-level cash/lvlup-concentrated players' and the higher level players' areas. ---- 2nd Example: http://www.tip.it/ru...2monster_id=436 This is (I believe) ALL monsters in the Tip.It Bestiary. NONE show a drop rate for specific items :(. I, personally, think this would be a step up. It gives much more detailed info, very accurate info, and would compete with the Rswikia articles that exist. I'm not saying people won't think you're taking ideas and content from other sites, moreso just expanding your normal site with what was already available. People question credibility with Rswikia because it can be edited by anyone. At least Tip.It has a review of sorts, and if it's wrong, it likely will be fixed by someone trusted. It's what makes Tip.It stand out..But then Rswikia has more info than Tip.It and I guess more info accessability. Please improve open.tip.it/ to something more than just a graphically overhauled version of Tip.It. It's exactly what Jagex did. After all, shouldn't Tip.It be considered the most comprehensive and accurate fansite, not just for the 'noobs'?
  2. Honestly dude, I don't think that ban will stick for long. I'm sure it'll be made apparent and I just heard Thai's tryin' to help you out. Good luck even though you probably don't need it, but sorry to hear about it. The subject itself is sad, but I guess when you try to get shit done as quick as possible, this type of thing will happen (often in fact, it seems..). I'm thinking to myself, is Jagex being careful enough with these mass-bans via IP? I have two answers for each separate scenario, but both really make me squirm typing them. I don't think they've approached this correctly. Scenario one--- Jagex is completely understanding and capable of unbanning those who've done nothing wrong or even close to ban-worthy (quickly reversing the ban) : If it happened to me and I had no worry about being banned permanently, yes I would take the loss. The mass-bans really aren't going to last forever, if Jagex pulls through, and bots ruin my game in many different ways. There's just too many. Scenario two--- Jagex unknowingly banned a ton of players, and since they aren't actively seeking information from players all the time, it goes unnoticed for a decent period of time : Complete definition of what I don't want Jagex to be like. Unimmersed in their community and not actively seeking player feedback. As well as being oblivious or caught up in other things to stop and look around at what's going on to the game in terms of a player's perspective. This is more likely than any other scenario, and personally I think Jagex already fulfills this description very well. They eventually look at a problem and it's already escalated to something retarded and they have a sloppy way of fixing it if it's immediate. Edit : I wasn't around for that penguin glitch, and I have no idea how long it took Jagex to recognize what happened. This is on a (much) smaller scale than that if it truly was like half the active RS players. However, re-spying penguins, even to experiment and see if the glitch occurs, is still unfairly gaining tons of xp or gold if you choose that reward. I wouldn't feel sorry for the majority of those that got banned that way.
  3. LMFAO. So glad you posted that. :) This so much:
  4. I was once told by an efficient bunyip not to post what is well known. On top of that, I highlighted things a level 3 might do to save/make gp before they're lvl 70 combat. Just saying, this thread's title is misleading as all hell and needs to be changed..
  5. Not creative really, Diablo 2 coined hardcore mode for gaming. That or at least made it extremely popular.. I don't think anyone in the world would be dumb enough to play this game mode/on this server. Your thread kind of annoys me, sorry.
  6. Umm ya technically RS gold is intangible, but that doesn't mean it has no value. What, exactly, is your point? That the GP gained has worth according to a handful of court rulings and it might truly be stopping them from doing something like this because of gambling law conflicts. Think I posted on this thread before, but I'm pretty sure Jagex can get away with it because they're not the ones trying to sell gp itself. They're also trying to kill off RWT and that could be convincing enough to be able to start some form of 'casino' in Runescape. Edit: What about online poker? Compare this to that.
  7. RuneScape nudity, oh the horror. The partless areas of the human anatomy!!!! WHAT WILL WE DO?!? Yeah. Overreacting to visual glitches I think.
  8. wot. Blood neck is one of the more useful binds in dg, I'm surprised you didn't break your hood for it... Get your best platebody as a defensive bind instead. Blood neck is pretty useless before 100 unless you're 99 or so, otherwise it'll murder your xp/h, or floor times. They're common enough now not to bother going out of your way to bind. Right with you on the plate though. Not if you know how to handle it.
  9. What everyone wants is a less procrastinated fix. A fix that doesn't just drop em off the game for a day or a week but forever. It's not that Jagex isn't trying, they just aren't going above and beyond what someone would expect them to be doing bare-min. RS is the only game that I know of with this amount of RWT and bots, and Jagex needs to stop acting high-class if they aren't providing high-class. Great anti-bot systems take time, but waiting til they outnumber subscribers is just dumb. Happened every time so far that I can think of.
  10. LOL Oh man, I almost wanna try the Botany Bay thing..
  11. Or perhaps each faction modified their own sword. Now I want to look into the lore myself.. *thinks back on the Sword of Truth series..* Makes me want to cry thinking of those books. If Jagex pulled off that volume of lore for RuneScape, I'd be more than happy. Kind of wish there was something to Rs that was almost like reading a book. Anyone know where you can find out info on the God wars? Like, letters from the gods or is it in the books?
  12. You could say that the different hilts give the blades different properties, and one of them might be cosmetic look based on the given god of the hilt. :)??
  13. I assume it's what the beta has, the bandos helm, all those boots/gloves and whatnot. But there might be a slight chance of there being some other cool stuff up in there.
  14. I thought that the godsword bit was awesome (cosmetic appeals to me I guess), makes me want to own all 4 even if one sucked. I'm assuming this might not come out til after EoC release, but based on it being the 16th BTS...Would it come out this September? Bah, they mentioned new drops anyway so I doubt. Fkasdjamsdf lol. Gonna cry irl if I see EoC released before this.. Was really hoping to come back early for some reason :s.
  15. The dungeon itself gets a remake, as well as new godsword graphics and other things! Check out the video for more info. It is UNLISTED at this time, and may be blocked/taken down at any point. Get in while you can.
  16. Go pking at green drags some time. You will see the same 'people' come back over n over, they all use similar/the same food (trout, salmon, tuna, lobster (the hardcore bots use lobs)), and all have similar 3item setups. All drop rings of dueling or varrock tabs, some have combat or str/att pots. They all tele when they go to eat at less than 70% health and have no food. They all eat at the same time, they all run to the same spot for the same drop, they all attack the same way at the same time..etc.. You've gotta be btmf to not know who is botting and who isn't. They aren't good for Rs longevity because players can take shortcuts that make them end their Rs lifetime a lot faster. They get less enjoyment out of the game by completing more of it easily (services such as questing, random minigames, powerlvling or bought accs/gp..), thus causing them to quit abruptly or permanently a lot faster. They absorb less of the game and have a smaller 'nostalgic' feeling, and probably wouldn't come back as easily. This isn't true 100% of the time, but I figure it's accurate for a decent proportion of RWTing-involved players. Those that bot for personal gain and not RWT are in a worse seat, because when reality hits them (if they really care about a true gaming experience that is), they feel the game is ruined for them completely (evidence such as the Tip.it times post). Either way, the less players that play Rs, the higher the bot ratio is because they want to make gold cheap enough to be appealing. Jagex -may- get a really good amount of money off bots existing, but it degrades and dissapoints the actual players. Once they leave, the game dies a little. Once people realise that the game is a sinking ship, they jump off and leave it as a lost cause. A huge chain reaction occurs, maybe over a loooong period of time, and overall, it ends up killing RuneScape. Edit: I'll add in the Rs population has dropped substantially more than you say. 75-130k now, as opposed to 100-150k maybe 2-3 months ago, dependant on time of day/week/month/etc. I remember the days where a third of a million players was bad @ any time of the day. Now it's like..."Wow 200k? Rs is getting popular!.." You could say that most of the past records of daily population was bots, but I think the ratio of bots:players was smaller. I mean c'mon, everywhere had people at it regardless of bots. Bots didn't bot everything in existance just to turn a coin to sell for irl cash. You didn't see 15 bots at Magic trees, you saw 7 players and 2 bots. And here we are, not cutting magic trees. Not cutting yews nearly as much (almost all bots), not really fishing as much (mostly bots..). There's no comparison anymore, and people who haven't seen the past missed out on the thriving game so many want back. They have nothing to compare it to except just months or a few years ago. And that is absolutely NOTHING like what Rs was half a decade+ ago. It dissapoints me when people let it slide so much.
  17. As far as I know, as long as Jagex isn't providing a way to buy currency to gamble with or anything like that, there's no way they can be attacked. One of the funniest pics I've seen in a while, though. I wouldn't mind a casino in Rs. Edit: Whoever posted something about using items to gamble with and slayer being profitable again is a genius. I BEG JAGEX TO PLS PLS DO THIS UPDATE. It almost overthrows my hatred for EoC.
  18. Posts like that from Jagex get me a little hopeful and a lot more confident in the decisions they have, but they've not touched EoC in that post either. That makes me a little.. displeased. Out of every update that's recent (and pretty dramatic), it should be more widely covered with Jagex posts, discussions, etc. Instead, they just ignore it (hugely, at this point..) and kind of act like it's something everyone in the world wants. Not aiming to turn this into an EoC debate, but I have to say I don't think anyone truly minded certain aspects of the game staying the way they are now compared to the EoC update that will more than likely come no matter what anyone thinks. How long it stays and how much Jagex cares about what we think, as a gaming community overall, is a different story. Opinions vary and all, but I really don't think they know how many players are not ready for this type of switch in gameplay. It really bothers me that they didn't mention that at all. I couldn't give a crap about an account I might not play anymore.
  19. Surprised no one thought of the idea of being able to buy loyalty points/rewards with runecoins yet. Interesting update.
  20. I think I last looked at like 358 days, almost 300M total xp. That includes 5x 99's with over 15m xp each, and 131m-ish dungeoneering xp. I'm also a supporter of those who play for fun and not for xp :), I have a total lvl average of like 79, which is nothing when the majority of that comes from a few high skills. Taking my 5th ever forced break from Rs as well, the other times being just ragequitting. This one is for the issue of becoming far too integrated into Runescape and not RL. Not really regretful, but it definitely wasn't a good idea to no-life this game at any point.
  21. Another new compass. Location: South of the bridge leading from Mort'ton to Burgh de Rott. Edit: another compass that's new/unlisted. Location: Southeast of the Citadel entrance, at the Clan Camp.
  22. Got another elite from the same task, new compass: Location: Southeast the Wilderness volcano, also northeast one of the obelisks that teleport you.
  23. Did anyone else notice that the article itself seems like a giant troll, and the whole first page is about how people feel about Dungeoneering?? Like, am I seeing shit right now, is this real life??? I'd just like to throw in that the article wasn't appealing to me, and thought that everyone related wasted their time. Just my opinion I guess.
  24. This entire thread makes me look like a disgrace, lol. No one has as many hours as I do :(.
