  1. Where would these SATA cables come from? The hard drive package? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't put non-SATA cables in there... Also I asked previously whether my processor would work with the motherboard because of the slight inconsistency. (I'm posting from my phone so I can't copy and paste the lIst right now - look up. The motherboard normally comes with all the data cables you need, including SATA, IDE and SLI bridges, where applicable (so for example you won't get an IDE cable if your motherboard doesn't have an IDE port). Of course, you can still buy extra SATA cables from virtually any computer shop.

Oh my god, Narnia. lol I can't believe, after years of pleading, we're extremely close to changing weather effects. I don't want dandruff snow effects  I like the obviously fake snow-flakes near trollheim  I'd only want weather effects if it had another purpose than high cpu usage, such as elementals like dagannoth mother when the weather changes you need to use the opposite to water/ice = fire etc that'd be pretty neat I guess Jagex would do really well if they talked to players about what role weather and time would do to the game. Should it be purely graphical, vary some aspects of the game (respawns of some creatures being slightly quicker during the night etc.) or vital to the game (some creatures only appear during certain weather conditions). It depends on how much impact the effects would have on CPU and RAM usage, since so much of RS's appeal lies in it's capability to run on virtually any computer with Java and a browser. Oh, and particle effect for the win! It's been a long time coming, the screen overlay effect is so ancient it's gone beyond retro. It's just awful.
  3. Probably, but that's because good coding requires an agile and creative mind and a lot more dedication and effort, unlike hardware installation/repair. If I had those qualities, I'd put them to better use and get a mathematical or science qualification and go from there.

If they can spawn camp for a decent length of time, you've basically lost. It's an endgame condition, a legitimate tactic, unlike when in most other games.
  5. I used a dragon skirt for a while because I could then have a whip at the same time. I then bought the legs when I had a bit more money because they look better. The skirt just looks worse than the legs, and that's why it's a lower price. I'd really like to see a graphical change to them to match the heavy looks of the legs. It's not even much to do with the extreme male gender bias of the population, the skirt just looks worse.
  6. Can we download the desk too? What the hell is an Online Microphone anyway?
  7. Cheers, but be warned. The triplehead2go tells your OS that you have a really wide single monitor as opposed to three monitors in a row. This means that maximising windows will cause it to fill all three screens instead of the screen it's covering most. That's great for some games, but will really damage your experience for browsing and using most other programs.
  8. I agree, multiple monitors will revolutionise how you use your computer. There's something deeply satisfying in placing different windows in different screens as opposed to flicking through them individually. I am a proud user of a triple 19" monitor array, and I think I'll always use at least two monitors in the future. [spoiler=My Computer (Copied from Tech Pics Sticky)] Admittedly, playing most games over more monitors don't really work because the graphics usually aren't designed to cope with such a freakishly large screen. Runescape just about manages it, but it's a bit too laggy for me because one screen is running off integrated graphics. It might be acceptable with two discrete graphics cards. There's also the disorientation factor, but I've never tried it for a really long time to see whether I can get over it or not. [spoiler=Triple Runescape Screenshot]
  9. Woo Chrome extensions! I'm going to give Chrome a try again!
  10. By speed do you mean by their RPM or their cache etc..? Cuz they are both 7200RPM, it's just the caviar black have 32MB cache and 2processors which makes it faster...(Read around 115MB/sec, right now my drive read is around 77.8MB/sec). so you are saying the extra cache and processor won't be used..? or did you mean by the RPM of the drive..? Read and write speed will be at the lowest speed, so yes, there's going to be some processing power that's not used. That's why it's ideal to have similar hard drives, but not necessary.
  11. In terms of compatibility, JBOD (basically what you're doing) is relatively nice and flexible. Even if you can't go for a RAID array, you can put in as many drives as you like so long as you can plug in a power cable and data cable to every one. The disadvantage is that the speed increase will be negligable and it will pretty much run at the speed of the slowest drive. Go for reliability for your new drive, but not for speed.
  12. Of course, make sure you have one of those tiny motherboard speakers plugged in, or you won't hear anything.
  13. Eight dollars is not that much. On a 28-day month You are paying 29 cents a day. That is a quarter and four pennies. That is equivalent to turning three aluminum cans into a recycling factory(We get 10 cents a can we turn in). Paying 29-cents a day and skipping a few days of membership is not that much of a waste. It is one less coke you will have to buy in a month's time. OT: This might work later on, but not now. A lot of people get confused with some of the current options available. The real problem is those very teens who do pay for membership, then overcram themselves with game time. I understand people are trying to maximise their gains versus costs, but it encourages addiction. I love the idea of timecards as they are more casual-player-oriented. Currently it's either you play excessively or you lose out, and it shouldn't have to be that way. If the membership was expensive, I'd agree with you. But most people realise that £3.50 is an insignificant amount of money to pay per month. I'd also rather have the freedom to choose whether I play or not and it will make no difference money-wise. I don't want to feel pressured when playing, it's hardly casual.
  14. Sounds nice, but I have 3x 19" screens, so it's not for me. Multitasking is becoming more and more widely used, but I think getting additional monitors is by far the best way to do it.
  15. I have always thought of this world as a transition instead of a start or a finish. I was somewhere else before I was born, and will go somewhere else when I die. What I do in this world may or may not be important to other worlds, just that I live in it and interact with others to, in a word, experience. The nature of the so-called 'afterlife' doesn't matter for any of us who aren't planning to die any time soon. It's like asking "What happens if you go into a black hole?" All we can say are wild guesses until you actually try it, and you won't be able to see any more funky things that happen in the world afterwards, or tell you guys what's in there. I hope it's a utopia, a.k.a. heaven, but it's only a hope, but I'm cool with that. I'll find out soon enough anyway. EDIT: Feel free to come up with inventive ways to launch people into black holes.
  16. No, the member's system is great for us and Jagex, there is no need to make any changes.
  17. Sounds like a hardware problem, but it may or may not be your motherboard. I'm afraid the best way to do this is remove and replace parts with ones you know do work, booting each time, until it works again, then add your old parts until it stops working. Then by deduction you can work out what's faulty. If you don't have working parts to spare, or feel confident about going about this, get a PC repair shop to do it for you. Oh, and that information is a POST (power on self test) screen, indicating detected devices and stuff, but most motherboards obcure it with a logo.
  18. I don't think that Revenants are meant to be killed, Jennica's ring is basically pointless. They are only really there to make the Wilderness dangerous, and aren't actually meant to simulate PKers. That assumption only arises from the fact that PKers used to do the same job. I reckon that if they had the player's walking algorithm as well as running speed, that might be all that is necessary. Having the individual creatures biased towards certain combat styles and not others would be a helpful twist, but isn't vital.
  19. Unfortunately, Google Chrome can't handle Java very well, which is odd, considering how often sites use it. Why not have Firefox as a dedicated Runescape-only browser, and Chrome for everything else? That's what I did for a fairly long time.
  20. I don't think we will ever see a non-combat prayerbook. Prayer as a skill is strictly combat only, whereas magic is a combination of combat and non-combat elements, where you would find something like 'bless crops' (a.k.a. Fertile Soil [Lunar]) and 'protect from traps'. What we have here is a prayer book focused on improving your own stats, and a prayerbook focused on lowering or benefiting from your opponent's stats, with a bit of leeway. Still, you can never have too many ideas for prayers and spells.
  21. I'm loving the 'My other shirt is trimmed' T-shirt, and pretty much all of the items listed so far look pretty nice. The descriptions made me lol.
  22. I'd say it's still worth it for the mid-high range player and upwards. As far as saving your items goes, it's a bit of a hit and miss issue. The places where the chances of death are higher are also usually the places which are not quickly accessible, so gravestones aren't guarantees by a long shot, but every little minute helps, and at least it's a one-time fee. It's up to you though, there are good deals and bad deals in the game, and it's up to you to decide whether you could put that 500K to better use.
  23. I'm sure the game will last far longer than the the 3 and a half years to make up for the subscription, but I'd much rather control membership over a monthly basis. I go members for up to three months then semi-retire for about two months then repeat, more or less. If I put that in the equation, I would be investing in eliminating a frankly tiny payment that happens in about 5 or 6 years time. There really is no point.
  24. Pretty much everyone knows GoP is a glitchfest, it just amazes me how Jagex could let a potentially good minigame go to waste because they don't bother to polish it.
  25. I'm afraid that as far as computer hardware goes, a lot of the parts rely on the fact that it's all one piece and hasn't been bodged by a proverbial guy in a proverbial shed. I've been there, it doesn't work. Optical drives are precision instruments, but despite that they're also quite cheap. You won't have to change any files if you get the same model of the drive, and if you get a new one, you'd only have to add in a new driver, which I would think the company would do for you.
