  1. Congratulations excl, you deserved it. Send our regards to The Blokes at Jagex Towers!
  2. Congrats, I told you it would happen. Enjoy.
  3. You're forgetting how freaking HUGE the galaxy is. Remember, Galaxy =/= Solar System. Comparing our solar system to the Milky Way is akin to comparing a speck of sand to a beach. It makes perfect sense to me that it'd take a long [wagon] time for us to make a half-rotation that slowly. :-s I'm not sure what you're getting at. We get on the right side of the sun every year, so it happens every year. If you're going to take into account the 'wobble' of the solar system instead of being generally the same side, 2012 will be about 6 degrees off the centre region. It's not unusual. Besides, the precise location of the centre of our galaxy is unknown because it's flooded with light.
  4. well it's not that i'm looking for some utopian mix of runescape and LOTR but its not entirely impossible in a fictional setting to have elaboate robes that can resist melee with enchantments... it was more a remark on there being other ways to do mage gear rather than the standard BULKY ARMOR = MORE PROTECTION No, but it would be far more interesting to have easy and effective spells that prevent close combat. Also, consider that if magic armour will suddenly have decent melee defence, meleers will simply use that armour to fight against mages.
  5. Jagex have already done a good job on the Translation front, and Spanish might well be the next candidate. Or it could be Dutch, or, I don't know, Swahili? It's all about potential player bases, where the language is popular, is widely spoken in a large/growing online community, but also where a high proportion of speakers of the language don't also speak a supported language. If there are enough online spanglophones* out there who don't speak English or Portuguese, then it's a very likely candidate. *spanglophone [n. One who speaks Spanish] isn't a real word, apparently. But it should be.
  6. [setup]Gosh, I don't know Serephurus, how many Scientologists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?[/setup] Is it a scam? Probably. Is it a cult? Yes, but a strange one at that. Is it a religion? Since people believe in it, scam or not, it's a religion, sadly. Is it a joke? I doubt it, and if it was, it isn't now. People actually believe in it.
  7. Jagex scrapped that idea. [hide=While Guthix Sleeps spoiler]In the time between Temple of Ikov and While Guthix Sleeps Lucien got the Staff of Armadyl even if you took the anti-Lucien path in Temple of Ikov.[/hide] [hide=Curse of Arrav spoiler]In Curse of Arrav quest (Zemouregal's notes) it is revealed that Hazeel was resurrected even if you didn't help him in Hazeel Cult quest.[/hide] It was probably too hard to design sequels for quests where you could choose from multiple paths. Yeah, I can imagine. It's wasted content if they don't bring it back together, I guess.
  8. I voted linedancing, it was very well coordinated and the overall effect was awesome. I just wish that it could have gone for longer... I could really sense something really epic coming up just before the 2 minutes ended.
  9. Yeah, everyone seems to be moving to machines in which a 64-bit OS only makes canonical sense, and I've been sitting on 4GB of RAM for almost a year now. I haven't moved my machines to 64-bit since RS always seemed to break, so I figured I'd ask about it. If he ever opens up the question thread, I'll ask about officially supporting Linux with complete documentation on the main site. I'm doing an alright job with the community, but it's always nice to know if the OS you're running on is officially supported... I run 64-bit Windows 7 RC, and it runs perfectly fine. The only 64 bit platform which it might not run on is 64 bit XP, but that's not widely used. It was a very good question though.
  10. Black people using the n-word is like kicking someone when they're down. It's offensive, yes, and most non-black people don't (and shouldn't) use the word because of its racist past, but if black people use it, it's cruel and unfair to anyone who rejects racism. It's just as bad as encouraging racism itself.
  11. LIKE AMG UR RITE U SHOOD B ABL TO BURN ALL UR LOGZ N I THOT DEY SHOOD HAZ COOK X WOOD N DEY DIDNT??? Y DO U THINK DEY SHOOD HAZ CRAFT ALL BODS N BURN ALL LOGZ IN BANK AMG DEY SHOOD HAZ A GET 99 RC BTN 2 Yes, you're a worthless noob -.- Well, that was inappropriate. It was only a suggestion.
  12. Haha, you're way too late. They've already fixed it.
  13. I suppose it makes sense to get the stuffed head/s back if you remove a trophy, because you can't buy them, so therefore you're not making the skill any less of a money sink. Other than that though, Construction is simply meant to be expensive no matter what you do with it.
  14. No, it's a suggestion. ;) I reckon there needs to be some kind of failsafe involving a warning message that can be toggled. I've yet to unintentially alch anything worse than a Rune Scimitar, but I can imagine how bad it must be to alch a whip, or worse.
  15. No, you can't have a full gaming experience with a demo, otherwise it wouldn't be a demo. If it leaves you longing for more gameplay, it's a demo, but if it gives you the option of continuing to play the game without starting over for as long as you like, it's not a demo. You can't have a demonstration that theoretically lasts forever.
  16. They are perfectly entitled to advertise their own site every so often. It's the most cost effective advertising they could possibly do. The summer RS update 'drought' is an unrelated issue, since the sites are generally handled very separately.
  17. Pretty much everything in the game involves pointing and clicking. You can't do anything about that. It's up to the player to make sure they don't injure themselves, but in my experience, the vast majority of people reach their boredom threshold long before damage can be done.
  18. Apprarently it's the result of a flaw with the current game engine. It's mentioned on the Dev Blog here: http://devblog.runescape.com/view_post.ws?post_id=27, and will be fixed when they update it.
  19. In a way, some quests already have this, such as the Hazeel Cult quest, and the Temple of Ikov. I suppose we will see more of them as we go along.
  20. I use Mithril, I reckon it looks the best.
  21. Will H replied to life97's topic in Rants
I think the new animations are very good, much better than the originals. I don't understand why anybody would think what we used to have is better in any way.
  22. MA is a terrible minigame anyway, it's just really poorly designed and way beyond Jagex's abilities. I couldn't care less if they moved the world, it's not going to make it a better game.
  23. Yeah, that's a big flaw about construction, there's no major support for redesigning a house without spending gps by the bucketload. Admittedly, everything about construction involves spending gps by the bucketload, so it's consistent, but this time it's unfair. :( Let this be a lesson: Treat Construction like chess. Plan ahead. Lots.
  24. Some potions have very few uses now, Super Energy included, but that doesn't mean that they're completely useless all the time. I'd bring one to a particularly lengthy quest, seeing how cheap they are now (678gp on August 26).
  25. Oh, so that's what they've been doing. Cool. I really like the fact that they're properly introducing a sky, it's only a matter of time before we get a weather system. :ohnoes:
