Like you said , it LOOKS like they are inactive. Just because you search their posts and don't get a huge result, does not make a moderator inactive. Moderators post probably 75% of their posts and topics on forums that none of you have any access to. Yes, often moderators may slip and become a bit inactive due to personal issues, time, whatever the reason, but trust me, we notice it a lot more quickly then the users do. To be quite honest , I'm growing rather tired of finding countless topics telling us that we need more moderators. Everyone makes it seem like you just pick a users name out of a hat and give them moderator status. If the community wasn't being overrun by little punks that insist on posting that garbage, we wouldn't NEED any moderators... BUT, don't forget , this is also the same community that we have to select the moderators from. How are we supposed to add more moderators from an ever growing pile of users that we can barely trust to post properly? Everything is a two way battle, think about it...

Myabe I'm just crazy , but our log of it shows that particular user starting his link spamming at 3:08pm and two global mods starting removing the posts at 3:20pm and the user was banned at 3:32pm. 24 minute response and cleanup time is pretty damn good for a bunch of volunteers I would think. :-k

It actually only applies to Actively running AntiVirus scanners. it is ALWAYS a good idea to run a second program , not all companies update at the same rate and one may catch something the other missed or isn't yet able to detect.

Well as you know, unfortunately I was not involved in the CIC discussions over the past few months. The one problem I always incur in my role here at Tip.it is that I am not able to take on a specific "section" like some of the other administrators. Between all the hardware and software issues , it just not plausible, its hard sometimes to even devote time to issues such as these. If the members of CIC (including reinstating any who left) were to put their heads together, how long would it most likely take to get a full list of the "must be done" items together? I will put my personal guarantee that it will be looked at within 48 hours of its completion and will also see to it that any that, are possible, and reasonable, are done, or negotiated. As for actually "restyling Tip.it", my ears/eyes are always open for ideas and possibilities for new graphics or designs, show me some samples :)

and just who were these 2 or 3 people? Because I don't remember anyone asking me ANYTHING about Clan discussion/Pk forums all summer. It seems the users are the ones who are complaining about the quality of those forums....but who exactly is it that posts in them and makes them so unattractive? it surely isn't me or the admins.....

Seriously , stop posting this same topic repeatedly. Its caused by your profile information being cached. When the cache flushes, it updates itself. Your post count does NOT matter. This is not a server issue, its a server FEATURE to reduce load.

yeah , but what if sendmail isn't running on the host machine ? :-w To be honest , use both javascript AND php for form validation if possible. Javascript will prevent simple mistakes from creating additional and unnecessary page loads, and php will catch whatever gets through the javascript :)

Friend of his used his computer and got him IP banned? Exactly why I asked for a screenshot of the error. I know just about every line of code in phpBB , and theres nowhere that would have generated an error with that text, nor would an admin use it as a ban reason that is displayed to the user. Stop suggesting he change his IP address , that doesn't solve a problem , only hides it and delays it from being identified and fixed. Besides, its nearly impossible with most ISP's anyways.

There is no error in any of our forum software that would generate that type of message. Are you sure it didn't say you EMAIL address is already in use ? :? Provide a screenshot of the error if possible.

I don't see why you feel its that necessary to bump your blog ... :? A blog is defined as a webLOG , which means you add entries or content to it on a regular basis. Bumping your blog isn't adding content to your blog, all you are doing is shoving it in other users faces. But why would they want to read it if you aren't adding any content to it?

I agree with skatedog, Phil is mean and inactive........ But seriously, staff activity is kept up with as much as possible already , but as noted above, if you DO nothice something that requires the Admins attention , we are only a PM away.

This is exactly why the in game chat will never be announced as "official" through our site or forum. The tipitchat was a personal project of Lightning and if she wishes to maintain it, great, but because it cannot be effectively controlled by anyone but Jagex, our "official chats" will remain on our own IRC server.

Well, no it wouldnt , because the image is only downloaded once, just appears twice. I had images stripped out of quotes before and people whined.

It was never posted in the news on the site or forum , it was never official. What players do in game cant be controlled by anybody but Jagex, so nothing in game can be deemed as "official".

The only official chats/channels our hosted on our IRC server. We do not offer any support for chats in game.

Validation ensures cross-browser compatibility. Always get it to standard. Looking cool on Firefox but not on IE (or vice versa) will make people stop visiting your site.

Check the overlay settings in the nvidia settings panel and in media players settings the nvidia drivers notes say Try opening Windows media Player and selecting Tools > Options Go to the performance Tab , near the bottom where the video acceleration slider is probably set to "full" , click on the "Advanced" button There will be a few checkboxes there to enable/disable overlays when playing videos and dvds, give them a try on and off :)

That error is normally caused by our scripts not being able to connect to verify the size of an image in your signature or avatar. In this case its because you are trying to use draynor.net , which is offline.
