  1. Are you logged onto the computer as an administrator?
  2. Cant really get into it extensively , but can tell you this, the HTML only index page is not correct. it may look ok in IE but suffers the same problem as the php image when viewed in Firefox and Opera. I'd work on getting the whole page cross browser compatible before splitting it up , you'll most likely come across whatever is causing your problem. But just a note, splitting a page in different includes/requires doesn't make it template driven. A template system allows you to change variable assignments within an HTML page on the fly.
  3. normally every system that comes with integrated video that shares system memory will have a setting in the system BIOS*. Graphics cards have their own memory on the PCB, you cant really dedicate system memory. I would try updating/reinstalling your video drivers before anything else. *I do not recommend making any changes to BIOS settings unless you are sure you know what you are doing.
  4. whoa slow down , hes looking at laptops , an add-on stand alone card isn't really an option:P Its not really the memory you need to worry about, you could stuff 4GB of ram in the laptop and dedicate 512 of it to the graphics if you wanted and it still wouldn't help. Mobile processors, including video processors are downclocked and way underpowered to prevent excess heat.
  5. Is there a firewall running on the computer? Often times you simply to have to allow the program access to the internet for it to make a connection.
  6. Not sure if this will work on IE6 , but it works on IE7 and may point you in the right direction if it detects IE6. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/sea ... nce2.aspx# clicking on Google in the list will automatically add google to that list of search providers, you then only have to select it. Just tested this on my IE7 as Live Search was the default and I never use it. If it doesnt work for IE6 at all, sorry , worth a shot though :)
  7. guess they just haven't caught up with me yet :P
  8. why on earth would you want to destroy a $300+ ipod ? :-k
  9. You are welcome to go try and find an image on our site that was taken from the Runescape website.
  10. http://brainsnorkel.com/2007/04/08/vist ... and-flash/ That page says that User Account Control being disabled may help , worth a shot I guess . Also found this site which explains the problem a bit more in detail and has links to the standalone package of flash which is said to fix the problems http://www.softwarepatch.com/network-se ... urity.html
  11. Try without the webinstaller http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en Thats the full redist package of 9.0c for users who wont be connected to the net when installing. (44MB) Its basically a big zip file , so you'll need to create a folder to extract the contents into and then run the DXSETUP executable file. It should search and replace missing or older files that are missing or required.
  12. the main problem is your popup window isn't displaying the runescape webpage in your frameset like you want it to . Runescape.com has its own script to prevent itself from being opened in a frame like that . if (self!=top) { if(self.location.href.indexOf("/de/")!=-1 || self.location.href=="http://www.runescape.de") top.location.href="http://www.runescape.com/lang/de/"; else top.location.href="http://www.runescape.com";
  13. I swear every time I read another reply in one of these topics, I lose more and more braincells while the misinformation soaks in. where do you come up with this crap ? Search around for articles and reviews of internet advertising , specifically tribalfusion, you will find it highly recommended and reliable..... If you actually do use google, which as you can tell, I doubt, you would know that they only allow 200 entries in their blacklists, so blocking every single domain someone owns before they even try to advertise it would be horribly counter productive. Hmm , lets see , tip.it was first created in 1997 and 10 years later the traffic and userbase still continues to grow daily, somethings being done right..... Also , I'd personally like to know what everyone else is doing wrong, I don't use FlashBlock, I don't block advertisements in any way shape or form, I don't block pop-ups on the Tip.it domains, and I still maintain a perfect track record of never being "infected" with any type of Spyware, trojan, virus, downloader, worm , etc etc etc. Considering I've been using the internet as almost long as most of our users have been alive, I'd say that something you are doing wrong is what really poses the "threat" from these ads. Seriously, people need to chill out a bit, adverts are always going to flash some "catchy" phrase to grab your attention because they know damn well 99% of internet users never click on them anyways. If you are that easily "offended" by something that is rated PG-13 rated at best, then you really shouldn't be browsing the internet to begin with.
  14. The author hasn't returned so the childish argument about which Anti Virus sucks doesn't need to continue.
  15. Fine, we'll re-evaluate every 2 years like you said. And since signature limits were revised in '06, and avatar sizes were revised just a few months ago , we'll see you next year.
  16. So basically you want us to stop others from posting their ideas because you think yours is better?
  17. I still don't get it apparently. If you have already scrolled past it and/or read it , then why do you need to scroll back up to close it?
  18. Your last post said exactly why this will never happen no matter what the forum rules are . It has absolutely little to do with the rules, the tolerance level , or the discussion subject, there will ALWAYS be somebody who doesn't agree and isn't mature enough to type a proper civilized reply. Humans suck at interacting with other humans, we always have and we always will.
  19. hardly ever used? 137,000 posts in 22,500 topics is hardly ever used? :shock:
  20. Theres one major flaw to your idea.. the 'HIDE' BBCode and the collapsible quotes were both setup for different reasons Hide was implemented because many users requested it for "spoilers" in the movies forum and for guides. Quote was implemented with the ability to keep them closed by default because many users don't want to read the same text over and over throughout the same topic. If you were to open a block of hidden text and then scroll down while reading it, and THEN close it from the bottom, you would have reduced absolutely no scrolling from the page, only added to it. By closing it from the bottom, all you would be doing is moving the text below it (that you have not read yet) upwards on the page, possibly off the visible portion of the page depending on the size of the hidden content.
