15-Nov-2011 - Coming Next Week: New Website!
This is just as big of a blow to fansites as F2P. Not only will Tip.it lose a lot of traffic from this new wiki but the removal of F2P highscores will affect tons of features Tip.it and other fansites provide. Things it will affect for F2P and fansites: Stat Trackers Stat Signatures Quest + Skill + Combat Calculators Runescript commands All of the above now either can't be used by F2P or are a lot more tedious to use. Think of how this will affect how F2P clans have to go about checking minimum requirements for members as well; there are just so many implications that this will cause and so many other viable solutions to the BS reasoning behind this change. Not happy with this at all.

It's not a "free" MMORPG anymore.
Normally I'd be one to say you have to pay for content but the highscores are such an integral part of the game that cutting F2P out of them is probably one of the worst decisions they have made over the past couple of years. I hope that Jagex realize their mistake because they are going to kill off their F2P community if they continue down a road like this.

The Hunger Games
So the first full length trailer was released earlier today and I have to say it looks absolutely amazing. I loved the books, and from the looks of the trailer they hit a lot of the characters bang on and captured the book perfectly. Hopefully the full movie will be just as great as the trailer is making it seem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-5ANq4sAL0 Anyone else excited for this film?

Everyone who helped did an amazing job on the new site! It's nice to finally see it finally ready for an open beta after all the years of hard work put into it.

Introductions & Farewells
A big welcome to everyone who's just recently registered! :) I believe it's been moved to a hidden archive. Was there a particular reason you needed it? I might be able to move it back to General Discussion temporarily.

You'd also probably want a DVD/CD Drive like this one and you'll need a computer case as well. (You could probably go with a cheaper case if you want to stick closer to your budget)

*Presses button* Did it work? *Locked* Yep! (Not really any need for this to be open)

What is it like to write an article for tip.it
^ See above post/this topic here for more information on submitting an article. Anyways locking this as it doesn't really have any discussion value, you can PM an editorial panel member or admin if you need more information about the Times.

You'll need a graphics card, something like a GTX 460 to run games on mid-high detail. For the Windows 7 disc you can only install it on one computer so you'd need another copy. Check to see if your school is part of the MSDNAA, if so you can get a copy of Windows 7 professional for free. If you're really constrained to a $500 budget then forget the SSD as your money would be better spent on a decent graphics card + CPU. Also just to note flooding in Thailand is causing a hardrive shortage so you're going to be looking at paying more than usual if you buy now. For example I bought this drive a year ago for $88, it's $220 right now. Just keep that it mind.

Music Sample for the twitter teaser this week: I'm guessing this means we have a quest coming up next week.

The New Guide to Pyramid Plunder
That's not a bad idea. Only downfall with that is you'd all have to be able to reach the same floor level to get the most experience as well.

Sticky in H&A
I see the point of keeping it just so we have a place for people to post but honestly I agree that for the most part it is useless. Let's get a few more responses and if the other moderators/users agree we can unsticky it.

when I got to view new content it says no new content found
Moving this to Forum Updates & Suggestions. I'm having this problem as well, I'm sure a tech Admin will be able to fix it when they have a chance.

Yesterday...
Please just use the Today topic anyways, it's redundant having two topics that people are going to post pretty much the same things on. Thanks!

Remove offenses that are dated over 2 years
I think we try to look past old offenses the majority of the time so adding a standard procedure of ignoring offenses older than 2 years wouldn't be that much of a change imo. Basically what Kimberly has said is more or less my thoughts as well.

25-Oct-2011 - Bot-Nuking Day: Making RuneScape Fairer and More Fun!
I was thinking, even though Jagex is going to take a financial hit from this, if this fix really can permanently stop botters then a lot of resources (legal, anti-bot teams, account recovery teams) they've been putting towards this can now be used elsewhere. The number of servers could also be cut down which could save some money. I think a large majority of bots were F2P anyways so Jagex isn't really losing money over them leaving; in fact they'd save the money that was being used to host servers which basically only contained bots. If they market it well enough a lot of old players might come back after seeing how things have changed.

Additional Content Sidepane
Could we get the list of recently updated blogs added back to the Additional Content sidepane? I feel like it was one of the main sources of traffic to user's blogs and would be handy to have back there.

25-Oct-2011 - Bot-Nuking Day: Making RuneScape Fairer and More Fun!
I'd assume so. Hijacking accounts and botting are substitutes to each other when dealing with real world trading. If the cost of botting goes up it would be more profitable for these companies to just go after player accounts. Of course if players were smart they'd just tighten up their security and we wouldn't have to worry about this at all.

They're definitely banning bots, many of my stats have jumped in the past few hours, including 99 fishing: I know it's probably still early to be certain but so far Jagex seems to have been somewhat successful.

Have you tried doing a hard refresh? I don't think I'm having any problems seeing your updated picture.

21-Oct-2011 - Bot-Busting and Bonuses For All
I actually think they planned it to be this way for a few months now. I'm sure they only added that bot busting insider session because they realized that they could get this bot fix out in time for Runefest. They probably wanted to have a session to finally be able to boast that they solved the problem. (Assuming this fix is successful)
