Contrary, gears has a horrible storyline. Perhaps you mean the backstory, or the setting, which is interesting. But the storyline in the game itself is somewhat idiotic. The redeeming grace is that it's wickedly entertaining. Anyway, I'm curious about CoD4. Back when I first heard of it, I thought it was just another game in the wave of semi-futuristic war games like World in Conflict, Tom Clancy's Endwar, etc. But now I hear that it's the best shooter of the year, which makes me interested. Dilemma is, Mass effect or CoD4?....

I'm surprised all of them either returned or took the wallet. I would have just looked in it, been unsatisfied, and left the wallet where it was. Moral dilemmas are for losers. Granted, if there was a wee bit more cash, I would have definitely returned it. Cough cough, ahem.

Do languages "I once knew but now forgot" count? If so, I would have known a lot of languages. To count; English, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam (heard of that?), and Tamil. Scraps of Latin, French, Lilliputian(<-joke) and 1337 . At this point I can only speak English. Properly? Idk, you judge. EDIT: Score Write: .5 English, .5 Spanish, .5 Arabic, .5 Hindi = 2 Speak: .5 English, .5 Malayalam = 1 Understand: .5 English, .5 Spanish, .5 Hindi, .5 Arabic, .5 Malayalam = 2.5 Total = 5.5 (that's pushing the max I can do now)

Former Harmonix Dev explains PS3's inferior ports, etc.

Ah, moment of truth, what is it that you defend the ps3 so much for? HM. Isn't this every game console that has ever existed? Of course there will be some good games. But relatively the ps3 has rather fewer good games than the 360 or Wii, a dozen if you really stretch what a good game can be. Thus, ps3=fail in this area. Has features? Check. Has got good features? No. This is what the entire article was about, eh? I think you can imagine what my response to this would be. NOBODY said that. What people said is that it doesn't plague the 360 like how you insist/wish it does. No, not really. Keep in mind most people here own more than just a 360, meaning we have experience over a variety of consoles and the pc. Conclusion = We're not fanboys, so for heaven's sake stop defending the ps3 so desperately. -
It's quite noticeable, but it doesn't drain the experience or anything. It won't bother you unless you have your game volume on very low, and especially not if you have your xbox live headset on.

My God, is there no end to the "Must I get a 360?" threads? This must have been the 4th one. Answer: If you have a choice and are looking for a new console, 360 is your best choice. Honestly, I wouldn't buy another console so soon after buying a Wii, but hey, your choice. I think we established the 360's library is the best one of the next gen consoles. Not just Halo 3, but plenty of other games (especially shooters). It has a great online feature. Xbox Live is as efficient and useful as it gets, will set you back 50 bucks/year though. Graphics are better than that Wii, and can challenge the ps3's. Hey, it might not be innovative like the Wii, but it does its job as a console for gamers just fine. It's more hardcore, but imo that's why you can rely on it for good gaming.

Indeed we are. A GAME console, is bought to play GAMES. The GAMES make the GAME console great. I mean really, why the hell else would you buy a ps3, short of using it as a coleman grill? Aha! Contradiction, but at least this statement makes sense. No, lots of games doesn't mean each game is good, but it means there'll be a higher number of good games. More good games = better choice. Actually, most, if not all of us know the ps3's line up quite well. You know why? Because there's like a dozen good games! It's not that hard to remember them all. Idk, the 360's lineup? Not saying the games in the ps3 line up are bad, it does have some good games, just the overall, the 360 lineup >the ps3 lineup. Get a 360/Wii then.

No not magically, but its called "sending in the thing and getting it fixed", assuming you even have the defective version. THe new systems DO have the falcon chip, and gamestop and eb games stock those. Whatever you have, you're covered either way, and thus "teh 360 iz br0k3" is no longer a problem. If you bothered to actually think of what he meant, you wouldn't have to unnecessarily call him an idiot. Name calling only rebounds back on you. You misunderstand. The 360=future, and the ps3 =future. They don't call them "next-gen" for nothing. Don't ask me to elaborate, since you were equally vague there. Lies. You clearly know nothing about the 360, and I'm shocked seeing that you have one. Not only was there gears, there was Call of Duty 2, Dead Rising, GRAW, Prey, Saint's Row, and many more. And that isn't even a quarter of the first year's exclusives, not even half of the good ones. And as for those three exclusives you just referred to (I'll ignore gran turismo as a killer app), remember that two exclusives are lost for every one that remains. In fact, I think the only reason non-fanboy ps3 owners are holding on to their ps3s are because of those two games. They're the only signs of the ps3's "potential" that's been MIA since its launch. Look here if you want to see all of them Note the 360's 44 exclusives vs the ps3's 8. Like what? The dual-shock controller?[/sarcasm] Well, it's true that the 360 sold at the same rate as the ps3 for its first year, but why don't we look at American sales alone? American sales from launch And Japanese sales Sales from Japan since launch Now where do you think the ps3 is getting all of its sales? mind you, I don't think the ps3 is a failure either, but it's far from the truth to think it's in overall superior than the 360 or wii at this point. As for the future, the nex-gen wars aren't quite over, we'll see eventually.

Only one thing to say. What in heaven's name are you talking about? . The Playstation doesn't have a series to accompany its systems? Have you ever heard of the ps2, and its 1+ billion units of software sold? To name some, metal gear, fintal fantasy, rachet and clank, devil may cry, jak and daxter, kingdom hearts, ace combat, grand theft auto and tekken? I can understand that the ps3 may not have many games, but assuming that the sony consoles as a whole were a failure...is sacrilege. That explains it. But no, the ps3 may not be the most innovative console to date, but the sheer amount of risk sony took by going with the tech of the ps3 makes up for that. And really, ever heard of dual thumbsticks? Or the first rumble controllers? It does get annoying when people see the Wii and assume motion sensing is the ultimate invention and makes nintendo the most original company ever. Jeez, give sony some credit. The psp is not necessarily a rip-off of the gameboys. It is logical to think that, seeing that the only handhelds in the market were from nintendo, and sony decided to make some competition. Much like microsoft made the first xbox, and sony with the first playstation. Being more pro-microsoft than anything, i won't disagree that sony is doing a bad job. It doesn't mean they're bad or anything. It's beyond me how the wii is selling how it is, but regardless, it doesn't establish anything. The next-gen race isn't decided yet, not by a long shot. Somewhat contradictory, seeing that the gamecube was unsuccessful because of its lack of good games. I would say the Wii doesn't really have much in the way of blockbuster titles either, but my argument is null because of the wii sales figures. Figures, hm?

1) Um no. 2) Been there, done that.

Bubsa, what you say! Captain, you have no chance survive, make your time! I have a degree in Engrish. For those who have no idea what's going on Hmm...

All hail the Terminator!

That's absurd. I'm sure you already know that the entire thing is a joke on Colbert's part, and there is no way he could be president even people would vote for him; one state winning does not make, assuming he was allowed to run in the first place. I'd do hate it when people use take obscure details as final proof of America's "demise". It's ironic in a way, seeing that America has remained stable for centuries whereas pretty much every other country has a new government every ten days. Anyway, no. Like kashi said, things might get awry if people actually do vote for him. He would be another Ralph Nader.

"Some" fun games with the ps3 as opposed to the "many" fun games of the 360. Matter of fact, I can only think of resistance as a fun ps3 exclusive, all others you can get on the 360. As for features, really, there aren't any you need. I mean, try googling "ps3 features" like I tried once, and it won't even turn up anything useful. To be perfectly honest, the only useful feature is the backward compatibility (it's not a compliment, I'm saying you're better of playing ps2 games). And that's just the old 60gb one, with the 80gb version's compromised backwards compatability (and the 40gb doesn't have one at all), it's hardly any good. Debatable. Unless of course you talk about the red ring of death, which I don't think is much of a problem anymore. I dare say resistance is the only shooting game you've played. If you're in for shooting games, get the 360. Well actually...If you're in for any genre, don't get the ps3, get the 360 (or the Wii).

Gah, they refused to give me my free taco. I hate them so. I should report them to their top brass, they aren't getting away with an atrocious sin like abstaining from donating tacos to the needy!

I don't see how A-Rod leaving the Yankees has any relevance to the world series, or how it makes you happy in the context. What, the breaking of the evil empire leaves hope for Boston to perhaps win another one? Yeah, I wanted the Rockies to win. . They were doing so good compared to every other team before they played the red sox, and it would be their what, first world series? Man, I'm disappointed, although I can't say Boston doesn't deserve the trophy.

I was in taco bell complaining how no one stole any bases the first game! Go figure... :-s

Halo 3's 11 levels was more than Gears' what, five? Although gear's campaign is more fun, especially when playing for the first time. I have to say halo has more replay value though.

What would you do if you had a week left to live

Am I the only person who would try to find out how to stay alive?...I'd spend the first one or two days taking care of business, and the rest of my life fighting to stay alive. There's no way I'd just walk over to the grave. You'll never catch me alive!!! I mean, dead!!! -
My turn! Combustibility is just the property of a substance to react with oxygen exothermically, not necessarily fire. I think reb meant that wood burns, as simple as it gets. Thing is, when playing against another person with much at stake, the last thing you want to do is fight them again, and it most definitely wasn't a good fight if it they almost won (in my book, a good fight is one you win easily  ). The point is, people tend to enjoy their victories, and why not? They deserve it right? After all, a victory is more valuable than courtesy to most folks anyway. But if a guy is just being a jerk....Well yeah, he's just being a jerk.

Fallout 3 isn't made by BioWare, it's made by Bethseda, same people who made Elder Scrolls. Or are they somehow affiliated since I last checked? Kotor = pwnosity. Kotor 3, pwnosity^3. Kotor MMO?.....I dunno. I'd rather play a stellar rpg that I could finish at my own pace than pay monthly for an equally good mmo. Just me though, an mmo might be a good move.

So sayeth the Anti-Xbox, so it will be. Not.

Not completely true. Although the creative mind of Bungie is leaving, the rights still belong to Microsoft, which means they can milk it as much as they want with other developers. For example, Halo Wars and Ensemble Studios (a mediocre game I expect). Regardless, I would prefer them creating an entirely new series, keeps the creativity flowing.

Calling them African American is a lie. It's brutally simple actually. They are descended from Africa, but are otherwise completely American. Same goes for others, like Asian American or Native American. I dislike "black" because it emphasizes on distinguishing groups by their skin color. It may be accepted as norm, but I usually don't use it in public places, but maybe to my black friends who are used to it. That's assuming they are all American and descended from Africa. You may say the ALL are? But according to the out-of-Africa and independent development (not sure if that's the official term), we are ALL descended from Africa. It makes more sense to group them into the ONE thing they have in common rather than a general area of origin. I dont see how you get offended by black...people call white people white people all the time. I've never seen a white person "up in arms" about that. Don't get so technical, you know what I mean. If you lived in another country and come to America, then it goes "[insert country] American". It doesn't have the slightest bit to do with anthropology. And yes I mean they all are...If a 100 people came from Africa, doesn't mean "they all are" African? At least that's what I think you're saying. And seeing that I'm not black myself, I don't get offended. I said it sounds offensive, or at least not the best kind of nomenclature. Referring to races by their skin color seems primitive and like a step backward. I suppose there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with it, but it's just a personal taboo.

have you ever been in a us school to say that? HahahAHA! The schools teach US as a good-hearted country and its only goal is to spread and protect the ideas of 'democracy'. Load of bull. I seriously doubt that. It's kinda hard to convey that idea when dealing with slavery, the civil war, native american policy and american imperialism. It's especially not true because the state governments doesn't regulate much other than basic curriculum, all the other details are left to your standardized tests and your teacher's opinions. At least here in New York. East Coast > West Coast anyway.
