You spelled existence wrong lulz  I always thought that if a person understood what it was like to not exist, or to simply be dead, he could use his mind to simply die, suicide. It's a strange theory for sure, but it's not disproven yet! Besides, it's yet another thing that the human mind cannot comprehend. Our mind, as said before, only comprehends what it perceives or infers through perception. Since we never experienced what the experience of non-existence is like, we can't reason or prove anything about it. As for the universe, I imagine that it's infinitely forms, and destroys itself, over and over again. Like the dude in the movie K-PAX said, the universe continuously forms and reforms, with the passage of time occurring exactly the same way it did every cycle. That means you can end up in the future if you go backwards in time. All fancy thinking of course, but imagination is nice. Back to the perception thing, it raises the question of how much we really perceive. I'm sure you all realize how limited we are in 3+1 dimensions. Just like a 2D character can't imagine the scope of 3 dimensions, we are quite ignorant of the other dimensions (what, 7 others?) that could are imagined to exist. I mean, things like the String theory (which I only partially understand) attempt to answer unexplained things in the universe from matters we've never percieved, but how many answers to the universe those topics hold, is anyone's guess.

A gundam....rpg?....That sounds almost as bad as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam....Gundam in general isn't exactly the best series anyway. But to answer your question, look for good Gundam games here

Well, it doesn't affect us Americans either way, violence is an American motif! As long as it stays away from nudity, its fine with us.

27 and 28. Not too shabby.

I call hax. It may be a unnecessary research area, but hey, it's something that's never been done before. It's not so interesting that there's an invisible tank, but an invisible something of that size. I mean, you'd expect them to work progressively, starting with a small metal sheet or something. But instead they go ahead and make a whole damn tank invisible. That's something else. Truly invisible or not, it's still cool. I call dibs on the first invisible Hummer.

I'm curious on how lowering the system price while using the same materials can possibly create a profit? Sony and Microsoft make a profit off selling the games, not the systems. Obviously there's more to the price than just the materials. If that were true, a price for any electronic item would never change (clearly not, they get cheaper over time, like with the 360 and ps3). I'm sure that Microsoft makes a profit from the systems they sell now, seeing how the new Falcon chips they use now are noticeably cheaper than the old ones. Same for the new ps3 40 and 80gb ps3 models. I can't give you specific details, but believe me, their manufacturing prices have dropped, and will continue to do so. It's only a matter of time till Nintendo falls suit with the Wii. EDIT: I just realized that by "materials" you probably mean hardware in general. No, they don't use the same hardware, they use cheaper and more efficient stuff. If memory serves, the 360 uses the new Falcon chip (which is cheaper and isn't faulty) and the ps3 uses some 65nm chip as opposed to a 90nm. Don't ask me how or why it makes things cheaper, but apparently it does.

You play videogames and you are cool and your music is cool. You must be fat. Aww, paperclips loves you too.

Just started myself, a lvl 3 soldier...It's fun so far, but no point in finalizing since I barely played the game (finished the Beacon tutorial mission though).

It's not an RTS, it's a sim. Big difference. It's not so much strategic combat as it is just management and development of your people. It's a novel idea, a cross between The Sims and Civ. Just curious how they explain where life comes from... And apparently you can upload your planets and life forms so that other players can experiment with them...Or blow them up! Fun fun.

Backup people, no need to kick a dead horse (that is, to hit rayoxide over and over with flame). So far most people here seem to have the idea "Hm, others are in agreement, better fall in line and start pointing fingers". It's unfair how most people here seem to prefer saying "you're narrow minded" and "stop hating" than actually respond to his question. For one thing, ray does have a point, nobody can say it's wrong because it's a fact. One, that much of rap does use obscene language. Of course, "bad" language is relative, but there's a reason why R&B songs appear on light music radio stations, but very little rap does. Adding to that, there's a reason why the "parental advisory" sticker comes on physical albums. For another thing, I like rap, I don't like metal. Hopefully that tidbit will give me some leverage on the rap vs other genres case. It's not true that rap as a whole treats women badly. Some do, granted, but most just use women in their music videos to sell it. Sex sells. All genres use it. And as for drugs and alcohol and such, that's hardly an issue. They don't have so much to do with rap as it does with acting hard, being a gangsta. Hence "gangsta rap", which for the most part I dislike. Ironically, my favorite rap (tupac anyone) from the 90's hardly has a problem with womanizing, but it does fail the language part. It may go contrary to what I said before, but whatever. Oh, back to ray's point that rap has bad influences. He wasn't so much saying that rap was the only bad genre, but that it had a higher ratio of bad to good songs than is comfortable. I agree with that actually, at least how it's going nowadays. I don't know if hip-hop is dead as Nas said, but I think rap is. Honestly, I think rap had a one-two blow to death. Songs like Crank that, This is why I'm Hot, and my personal nemesis, Party Like a Rockstar (anyone else see the pure irony in that?) is killing the genre. Rap is most definitely music. Good or bad is opinion based of course, but it's music.

I have 27 plans, 26 of which involve sacrificing Grif to buy me time. The 27th plan just involves shooting Grif anyway for the hell of it. (If you've seen the Red vs Blue video, you would get it) 1) Simmon's idea of climbing up into an attic and pulling up the ladder. Take that! 2) Grif's idea of going to Antartica. Zombies can't take the cold. 3) Sarge's idea of shooting Grif. They're all equally good.

To make sure your headset works: 1) Does it work both ways (the speakers and mic) for other games? 2) If it does, then it just might the d-pad thing. 3) If not, your headset is faulty, they're pretty fragile actually. You might have to get a new one. You could always check if it works by talking into it of course. Join any lobby, and speak into your mic. If the audio icon pops up, you know it works. If not, it doesn't work. Remember to click the "on" switch! The power button with 1/4 light icon just shows what controller that player is using. You're first player, so you should have the top-left circle light lit up. Second player gets the top-right lit up, and so on. That circle only shows up for your screen, nobody else on xbl can see it (just as you can't see anybody else's). To play with your buddy, add him as a friend, and when he's on, invite him. To invite players, click the xbox guide button (the big X button in the center of your controller) and go to your friends list, choose a player, and invite. If they join, you can do pretty much anything with them, campaign, custom games, matchmaking games, theater or forge. If you want to play matchmade games, you'll have to choose a playlist that allows the number of players you have in your party (for example, social slayer is 5). All party members will be in the same team, and will always stay together. It's pretty nifty. To get more credit into your budget, just delete items. Different items will have different values, like vehicles have much more value than say, a gun. I really don't know the point of a budget. To keep the game balanced maybe? But who doesn't want a hundred tanks on a map like Guardian?

This is new and exciting information. IIRC the Microsoft loses money per console as well. They did at launch anyway. I think they make a significant profit per console now. The PS3 became slightly cheaper to build too. But both companies compensated with price cuts, which are better business moves than just getting profit per consoles. Price cuts increase sales, which is better than selling less consoles for a higher price.

All my games are M, my dad thinks any game without "violence" on it isn't worth playing. But once a stupid salesclerk lady mentioned "sexual themes" and it almost blew it for me. Luckily I stuck wit teh shooterz and now I'm all good. I hope they aren't around when I play Mass Effect though, heard there was a sex scene somewhere in there. Same theory for your folks. It looks like they don't mind violence as long as it's simple shooting or hacknslash, so stick with those games. Stay away from other games until your parents gain your trust, upon which you can play pretty much any game your parents would care to not bother nitpicking on.

Should States in the USA have the power to..
underu2000 replied to TheLastTemplar's topic in Off-Topic
Interestingly enough, we just finished this topic in my own AP US class. General idea was NO, the States did NOT form the government, but the government was formed by the words "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union"(preamble of the constitution). The people represent the nation as a whole, not the states. If it wasn't mentioned already, the States vs Federal powers is an age old debate, since the times of states rights advocates Jefferson and Calhoun. First note the Supreme Court case McCulloh vs Maryland of 1819, where Maryland tried to tax the Second Bank of the US. The Supreme Court ruled that the implied powers under the elastic clause of the constitution allowed all necessary and proper measures to be taken by government. And second, no single state could impede any such action taken by the government. Quite simply, ALL federal decisions were supreme and higher than those of a state. Now let's look back to the Jacksonian era at 1831, where South Carolina nullified the Federal Tariffs of 1828 and 1832. Jackson in response intended to use military force, while South Carolina threatened secession. Eventually there was a compromise, but The President's Nullification Proclamation issued by Jackson held some interesting points: The people of the United States formed the Constitution, acting through the State legislatures, in making the compact, to meet and discuss its provisions, and acting in separate conventions when they ratified those provisions; but the terms used in its construction show it to be a government in which the people of all the States collectively are represented. We are ONE PEOPLE in the choice of the President and Vice President. Here the States have no other agency than to direct the mode in which the vote shall be given. The rest of the speech Main idea? The United States is NOT a confederation of states, it is one and a unified nation, formed and operated by the people as a whole, not the states as a whole. The state governments are merely inferior subgovernments for regional organization at this point, and have no power over the Federal government, which is in reality the entire nation, and all the people and states as one. PS: I got this info out of my various textbooks by the way, and I feel really geeky doing this on a friday night. If you'll excuse me, I'll redeem myself by doing something...less geeky. -
I don't think Bubs plays much FPS's, he's more into Zero Wing and Barbie: Pony Adventures, that kind of thing. :anxious: [take covah!] Anyway... I guess tf2 wouldn't be so much fun with the lack of players on xbl, but other than it would be fine. If it's the controller vs mouse thing, it's not much of a problem imo. The halflife and Portal games would also be more or less the same as the PC version.

Yeah the 360 version = horrible as well. What're you talking about...The 360 version was fine. It may not have had the player content you get from PC, but otherwise it was near identical.

Well, it's only being done once in your life, might as well be as big as possible. Did I say once? I meant it should be that way. Personally there is nobody in my family, nuclear, extended or in-laws, that have had a divorce. I still can't figure out how so many Americans have divorces. Being Indian, we have HUGE weddings. Astronomically sized, even the wedding coordinator woman was frightened by my sister's wedding. For the actual ceremony, around 700 people were present. And that's only a little higher than average to similar weddings I've attended. Myself, I would like to have a huge wedding too, something to remember for the rest of my life. It's not so much about materialistic ideals as it is to have so many family and friends witness the beginning of a marriage, with the most pleasant and optimistic setting possible. It's being idealistic of course. PS: Oh, to defend llamster, he wasn't insulting your cousins for having a large wedding, he was criticizing their divorce. You have to sympathize, especially the way you phrased it in the original post. Getting divorced in two months after an extravagant wedding is among the most superficial and hypocritical things you can think of. It's not fair to say they're pathetic, but it sure sounds shocking.

Yeah, get it. What's this I hear on free Halo 3's with your 360's? It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a free Halo 3!

It's not pink, it's lightish red! Or better yet, "I can't believe I died for this war". as Church said. You would think so too after being teamkilled

Be Thankful - Halo Theme For GH3 Released Free Tomorrow
underu2000 replied to Skill_Caster's topic in Off-Topic
Halo theme as in, the Mjolnir Mix, or in the sweet-and-sentimental (which is totally bad for this) piano thing of Halo 1? I'll assume it's halo 2s mjolnir mix, it's the only one with electric guitars anyway. Uber cool: -
Sounds great, although I wish there were more maps... 800 points for 3 maps is a hefty price
-
Not me, not at the 5'6'' I am. Only two of my friends can do it. And one just walks up to the hoop and drops the ball in. Rather tall, he is. Nice shot yourself. But best do as everyone says and clear out the face or something.

A simple wired connection is your safest, cheapest, and most reliable bet. Myself, I use a 50ft wired connection from my external modem to my 360. None of my friends use a wireless connection, seeing it has a bad rap on its connectivity. But a curious thing one friend did is that he drilled a hole straight through the wall and floor, connecting his 360 with a mere 25ft cable. Somewhat drastic, but it helps with the multi-floor problem. There's only a few options. Either the wireless adapter, or you plug it into your router/modem. That, or you connect your 360 to a computer monitor to make it closer to the modem/router. Here's the xbox.com site. Hope it helps
