It could be a creature you summon to help with cooking or farming. Hasn't anyone seen the Fruit Bat image on the front page on one of the previous updates? Yeah but then why is there another pouch with a bat wing?

I think #3 is actually a crab vlaw. clues that lead to it is in the varrock herald cutoff of the billboard iamge a while back. the anagram in the title says something like "a granit crab net" plus the author of the article is Annette fisher (a net fisher). all signs would say the granite crab helps people fish and so I think that pouch is the crab. #20 (the tree) is an ent. look at the wierd tree stump-shaped image next to the dev diary announcement on the main page. right click it, and choose "save as" and it will tell you the image is an ent. #15 is a frog obviously and 14 is probably that squid thats been discussed. #5 might be a sheep? #21 looks like a bat wing. i think #8 is a blue jay and #11 is a raven and #12 is a flamingo (look at the thread about the newly found website ad, it has a flamingo)

I don't know about you guys, but the pic looks photoshopped to me. even if it is true, the graphics in the pic look a bit odd.

Well I'm taking the liberty of identifying whatever summoning animals have been disscoverd through the knowledge base and announcements and ingame: Eggs: Blue Jay Vulture Robin Raven Develepment diary pouch image (left to right, starting from back row): Spirit wolf Ent (yeas i'm fairly certain its an ent. right click the tree shaped image next to the announcement on the main page and select "save picture as") crab claw sabre tooth kyatt? (perhaps you can summon it then hunt it for free exp?) troll? Beaver? the next one i can't even try to guess... Blue jay Turnip (yes its a turnip. find the turnip image enar one of the announcements and choose "save picture as) bear claw? Raven? Peacock [next row, left to right] mini dragon? that squid thing we all know and love frog Huh? a FRUIT? The next two look like dragons... next one looks like a... uhh.... not even gonna guess... tree. ent? type of fish, or a bat wing next two i'm not sure of finally a horned animal. a graahk?

well lets see now. the dev diary says that skillers WILL benefit from the new skill. plus theres the pouch for the crab, as well as the granite crab anagram. it seems obvious to me that the granite crab is probably used for fishing. Just a note: the dev diary said the anagrams CONTAINED those words angry, granite, and net. it never said anything about the fact that they MUST be in the anagram. perhaps that was just a bit of a throwoff. it explains why it seems no one finished the banshee anagram. BTW i have confirmed the names of at least one of the summoning monsters. that big sea serpent from the summoning art wallpaper? called a Hydra. Right click its image next to the announcement of the wallpaper and choose "save picture as" and it shows you the name. I did the same with the tree shaped image next to the dev diary announcement, that shape is an Ent. Plus, looking at the comic with the final piece of the summoning logo, there's a book with a tree shaped thing on it. Ent? Perhaps we might be able to summon ents to help in woodcutting...

thing is if there used in summoning an i repair them they may not be useful ne more. repair one of them. see what happens and what scim you get. save the other for summoning.

I think Jagex is purposely leaking this just to get us all riled up. such a huge mistaker giving players fake ranks and releasing a premature hiscore is not a mistake thats easy to overlook. the players claim they did nothing for their rank. I think Jagex is just preparing for the summoning hype. do whatever they can now to reduce problems after the release. I mean, after summoning is released, the entire staff will have their hands full. the last thing they want to deal with is players having trouble logging in and getting on the hiscores. so perhaps they're fixing the hiscores and login servers and the rest of the website now because once summoning is released, every player who reads it will be online, and jagex doesn't want to deal with all the problems that'll cause while watching out for bug abusers in the new skill and other problems with the update. this way they dont need to look at website problems as much as the ingame problems.

Heh, I'm not a sniper so I couldn't care less for a sniping map. (btw i got my old account back so i acn play on my lv 19 again! lol). I personally like camping (I know its cheap but its freaking fun). I forget map names easily, but places like shipment and wetwork are ownage for camping as well as Bog. Shipment is such a tight stage that if you're not the first guy on the map you're owned for the first few minutes of the game unless you get lucky and there's no camper where you spawn. I've seen games where the winner racked up over 150 points in under a minute in shipment. get a helicopter and uav in and you're set for free kills. BTW i just unlocked Martyrdom... its the best ability ever! I get soo many kills with it and it teaches campers a lesson. I tend to die a lot so the ability helps me get a few kills as I die. My noob setup (only lv 19): AK47 with red dot sight (gonna work on gettin the unlockables for the Carbine too). sidearm= the default gun (don't rememebr what that was lol). Perks: 3x frag, stopping power (increased damage) and Martyrdom.

A lot of those examples you gave doesn't even affect new players. most of them don't plan on killing advanced monsters while watching hp and prayer, use spec bar, drink sara brews, etc. most of them still struggle to kill a guard. and besides, even with all the new stuff, you can still chop trees and mine ores and smith them right? nothing's changed besides the trade limit. if you ask me, this seriously helps new players. they won't get scammed trading their hard earned iron armor for a random item obtained in an obscure location that the person is claiming to be "worth 5mil!!! good deal noob!". they don't need to look up prices of the items their selling or work out whether an assortment of beer glasses and ashes and tinderboxes are worth the equivalent. put up the items, see if the other person offers equal, then trade. they won't need to worry about pking or advanced monster killing and skilling until later levels and when they get to know enough about the game to understand what the knowledge base or fansites say.

Sweet! now we can sue jagex every time we lose connection in runescape! Noobs.

Its feasable, but I have yet to see someone with the patience to do it. I mean, who pays 5 bucks a month to reach their hand into a lake of sharks for months on end until they reach 1.9million? However, there's still the fact that even if youi don't go for 99, you can still get seriously high strength on a noob account. I mean, maybe reach for 80 or 90 strength at a very low combat. cuts off a heck of a lot of sharks from that goal. and you'll still pwn with whatever weapon you choose. imagine...

*sigh* another person who blames miniclip and young players for the game's "downhill" and conider it to be the end of the world. There's still risks in the game. Bosses? Bounty hunters? (bounty hunters espexially because of the risk of running into a team). just because some of the big things are gone, doesn't mean the game is no longer risky. aimed at younger audiences? how young can you get? the game is supposed to allow only 13+ unless with a written form from the parent. Unless you consider 13 and 14 year olds to be "younger audiences" and actually enjoy easy materials, I'd say this game is trying to aim for everyone. Miniclip? why blame miniclip? its the reason we get the sheer number of players. without miniclip, we wouldn't have such a robust population and hundreds of thousands of players might be gone. besides, not all Miniclip users are kids. and finally, the fact that low levels= young age. Huh? older players started at low lvls too. just because they are weaker then you in game doesn't mean they're 10 year olds.

No more scammers? with gravestones, theres no way you can be lured to your death unless you never knew what BH is, in which case theres always a warning message and plenty of exits. not many scams there. if you get lured to somewhere4 dangerous elsewhere, you might lose your items but the scammer doesn't gain anything, so he's wasting his time. with the trade limit, the only scams left are for scammers who consicer a 10-20k profit to be the best scam ever. no more losing millions!

So... you're saying Blizzard or some other game company sent over designers or something to work for Jagex and create problems? Keep in mind, player killing exists in bounty hunters. other games, you can kill players but not take their loot. runescape has to be different or else it'll just be another warcraft with not as good graphics. if you ask me, the more rs branches away from WoW, the better.

Try running the game as Administrator? That fixed my game woes. P.S .50 Cal and R700 Challenges left until Golden Dragunov! Awmegosh ty so much!!!!! I went on administrator and I can play again! (the only prob is that I have to make a new profile and restart my work, but its ok, i was only on lv 16 anyway :) )

Hey uhh guys? My computer still won't let me play COD4 again... downloaded the 1.4 patch and it wont load the server list. HALP! and arizark, to answer your question i believe prestige is, from what i've heard, you start back at lv 1 but have a symbol by your name. dont know much more though and I don't think its available on the PC version.

I recommended Zamorak book because the extra ranged attack and prayer bonus is definatly worth it. Most of the time the attacks you need to be most worried about are the magic and ranged, not melee. This is definatly an option though, I am thinking about adding a section about other options - but as stated in the guide, the samples I put up are just that - samples. P.S - I added you to friends warren, I'd like to go Rev hunting with ya sometime soon. Let me know. Awesome I'd love to hunt. I'm currently ranging Avansie's, but whenever someone asks for a rev hunt I drop everything, grab my stuff, and go! [i'm only on for less than an hour during noon GMT cause its morning where i live, so best to hunt in the evening for me] BTW another tidbit: Revenants almost always attack with their mage attack when they first see you. a good tip for a new hunter is to have a good mage defence armor. turning on protect from mage while the spell is in the air appears to be useless and you can take some bad damage from the initial hit. probably best to keep retaliate on too so as soon as you hear the attack (especially in areas crowded with yellow dots), youre character breaks off toward the rev without confusion.

Suddenly stopping yourself from playing isnt good for you. giving all your items away, getting banned, etc can all really take a toll on your emotions. not the best way to quit. as wakka said, the best way to get rid of the addiction is to find something to replace it. arrange events with friends or get a permanent girlfriend and you'll slowly reduce your playing time. thats what I do. Though I don't want to quit yet, I still can't stand playing for more than 2 hours before my head hurts or i get bored. then i do other fun things. I think the next step in quitting would be to leave runescape but stay on tipit or the forums. I know several people who quit runescape ages ago but still roam the offtopic forum today. you can be with friends on the forum, go on RSOF and see the most rediculous posts, etc. There is no next step to quitting. nobody ever said you had to leave your friends behind on the forums. you can quit runescape and still remain on the forums. and hey, if you DO have spare time, you can always come back. just learn to control how much you play.

In addition to that, I think the specific monsters that respawn and their commonness or if they respawn in a certain place at all is different in some worlds. World 144 is my favorite world to hunt them because it pretty much has every respawn. Heres what I got: Just about every revenant can spawn by some small lava craters shaped like a V right next to the southeast corner of the mage arena. On the world map, just look for a few lava craters close to that corner (the closest ones possible). This is the only known respawn of the rare Dark Beast! it also is a home for all other revenants. Right by the lvl 50 wildy obelisk (by rogues den). about every 10-15 mins, monsters respawn in a specific order. first, pyrefiends lvl 52. then an orc lv 105. Then 2 orcs and a knight lv 126. Hobgoblins: two lv 60 hobgoblins once in a while can spawn together by the wolves near the agility course in the wild. after a while if the hobgoblins are gone, 2 orcs can spawn as well. Beware, this area is multi combat. lure one of the monsters away to single and take him down. Vampires/werewolves: lvl 68 vampires and 75 werewolves spawn frequently along the lava maze. If you and the rev are outside the maze, you can lure them north to multi for a team to help. BTW heres a pic I got of a dark beast. You need it because in the bestiary, the current picture is a hellhound. Think you oughtta change it. Sorry about not cropping:

if you read he said he have sent a query about it. but what i dont get is how is it a bug abuse? its clearly not a bug having snow fall around you when shaking the snow globe Its doing it intentionally to prevent others from laying their traps. some do it because they're too lazy to find a world. some do it just to annoy others. I'm not much of a hunter, but i know people who get annoyed by this and it makes me happy knowing they have some line of defence.

Hey man, love the guide! I am a rev hunting fanatic, dispite the fact that I've never gotten any drops other than coins, I love the rush it gives you to be fighting such an opponent! I find that taking a circular route through the deep wildy where there are known spots for revenants is the best way to find them, and you can use the high level wilderness as an advantage to attack most of the revs you see. Here's a quick runthrough of my route (you will probably encounter revs on the way, kill them and continue along the route unless you must bank): 1. Start: Deserted keep. 2.move westward past the mage arena (bank here if necessary along your trip) past the mith rocks and take a slight southwest angle toward Ice plateau. Revs usually respawn in pairs here, so be careful! 3. check the wolf area for any revenants (either goblins or orcs usually) [be careful! the wolfs are in a MULTI COMBAT area! lure the revs AWAY from that] 4. Now turn around and move east UNDER the mage arena. 5. Start running east as you pass the south side of the arena. you will come upon some lava craters shaped like a wierd V near the southeast corner of the arena. This is perhaps the only known dark beast respawn (dark beasts are perhaps the rarest revenant and only spawn here about every 30 mins. however, every other kind of rev can spawn here as well) kill any revs. 6. Head northeast following the deserted keep, (look for any rev KNIGHTS or others inside the keep by the teleport lever, go in and fight if you see any) then head east to the scorpion pit. Make sure to walk along the NORTH SIDE of the pit or else risk running into the chaos elemental. Take a glimpse inside the pit to see of there are any revs. 7. Go around the rogues castle to the teleport obelisk. Kill any revenants there. Now turn around and retrace your steps back to the mage arena, then go foreward again! I usually encounter 6-10 revs in my route. Remember to use a HIGH POPULAR world as revenants respawn faster there similar to other npc's. Optional longer route (best for pairs, teams, or clans of rev hunters) is when you reach the ice plateau, go THROUGH it (watch out for ice monsters), then go south until you are on the south side of the gate. Head westward staying close to the lava (revenants respawn near the red dragon isle and lava maze), past the rune rocks and and eventually to the demonic ruins. Go east past the ruins until you see a gate. Go through, pass the major rev respawns until you reach the mage bank (bank if necessary) and repeat! This route is better for clans, pairs, or small teams than for solo hunters because there are multi combat spots at several points of the route, most revenants spawn in pairs along this route, and you can usually visit all the spots your friends or clan members want to check out for revs so there's no arguing! Cruddy map of both routes (the clan route is a kind of circular route, the solo route is a one way thing. rememebr that the blue route south of the mage arena is part of the SOLO route. The clan route starts the same as the solo but branches away at ice plateau and returns to the solo route towards the end.): Yellow spots= common respawn Blue line= solo route Red line= clan/team route Dont wanna look like im steal your thread, just thought I'd post whatever tidbits I could :D

You seriously expected to say you were giving free cash and nobody would want it? Its not as if they lose anything by trading once. who knows? maybe you're a rich guy who wants to give away cash. trading once doesn't make you greedy. And remember, there are a heck of a lot more free players then members. on top of that, money is hard to come by in f2p unless you're a high level (you should see the number of people running to a small pile of coins on the ground after someone kills a guard and leaves the coins). You think the same amount is gonna want cash in members and f2p? F2p has more poor people then members have people.

My computer is still screwed :( Like that other guy said, I downloaded the 1.4 version. Now when I refresh the server list, nothing comes up. I'm not sure if I have the latest Punkbuster but I'm fairly certain I do (but again, si there any way to check) any other help? I has no experience with the compuiter. this is the first FPS i play on my computer lol.
