Do you think we'll get a progress report tomorrow?
Tim_Finch replied to joey11223's topic in General Discussion
I doubt it's worth posting about something that will happen in less than 24 hours. -
What's your slayer? If it's 60+ you can kill Aberrant Spectres, they're amazing herb droppers, and they commonly drop high level herbs as well. If not, try chaos druids or cave crawlers.

With the graphics update coming SOON, what's the first thing
Tim_Finch replied to O_M_G_Guasto's topic in Questionnaires
Doing 10 quests a day on my new account is likely the best way to get a slice of everything. -
How does one train runecrafting and Herblore? Well I did do most of the f2p quests before I decided no more, but yeah no herblore will suck :|
-
My quest pure has been a member for about 2-3 weeks, and has done 0 member quests. While I'm waiting for the graphics I'm busy raising all my skills to the max requirements. I must say, it's a bit more difficult when you haven't done any quests.

1. What's the reason for stretching your post like that? 30 spaces isn't necessary, 1 would work better. 2. The "bad outfit strategy" is 100% pointless for fight pits. I fail to see what kind of advantage it would give you. Waste of space, but that's a disadvantage. At least you have pictures, everybody loves those.

what was the first thing you did when YOU became p2p?
Tim_Finch replied to fubol's topic in Questionnaires
I went to the fancy dress shop in Varrock and found that they sold eye patches. You can only buy this if you're a member, you say? I knew that I could buy loads of them and sell them for at least 20k in f2p ;) Needless to say, it didn't work. -
"Refining/secondary" skills not rewarding enough?
Tim_Finch replied to nightzero's topic in General Discussion
That's a brilliant idea Green. Making things that benefit yourself, not others. -
"Refining/secondary" skills not rewarding enough?
Tim_Finch replied to nightzero's topic in General Discussion
People want to get everything as fast as possible. Lots of people. They make these unbalanced, backwards prices to show off a cape. I wonder what the prices would resemble if there were no way to view another player's stats, and no skill capes. -
Rate me lvl 64!
Tim_Finch replied to Firemakerr's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
2/10 Terrible skills, even for a level 64. If you're going to go straight to a 99 and have no skills above 60 and a bunch of level 1's, at least try to make it something besides fletching or cooking. Outfit is ok, I'll give it a 4/10. -
Hmm, I tried to put a christmas cracker on my head, but there's no 'wear' option ;) I don't really think that a blue party hat is 3x rarer than a yellow, nor a red mask twice as rare as blue. Probably wrong on that, but I'd say the prices are at least 50% due to looks.

Hunting: from 0 to 50 in 12 hours/ updated to lvl 99
Tim_Finch replied to howzitboy's topic in General Guides
I like the guide, very detailed and informative, with a lot of pictures. Just one thing that bothers me, good grammar is very important when writing a guide. It wasn't that bad, but things like 'kewl', 'cuz', and 'u' aren't words. I don't have much of a problem with that in normal conversation, but a guide is one place where it doesn't belong. -
I tested and timed this with the raw bird meat, and was able to come up with just over 500k per hour. excellent way to make money for the average man who's unable to do a lot of God Wars.

due to demand...
Tim_Finch replied to tilly's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
You're the only person on Tif I've seen that does good bank commentaries, #1 for that, also the only person I've seen that has placeholders for almost every possible item, including a partyhat... Always 10/10 simply because of your unique style of organization. -
I know I will never remember how I trained in classic, even though those were the funnest times I've trained in -.- I've played classic from 2002 to mid-2005 or so, so that's 3 years of not remembering how I trained. I still remember some stuff from when I started RS2: When I started I became obsessed with range, and got from 25 to 50 in a few days (that's right, I had 25 range after 3 years of classic) starting on barbarians, and moving on to mountain dwarves. Melee wise, I always used a Dragon Battleaxe at rock crabs, until I had 70 in all combat stats. From then on, it was almost always slayer. Went from 40-50 smithing by smelting/smithing steel bars so I could do legends. Got to probably 60 fishing by fishing lobsters, about 200-300 of them a day, then began to fly-fish. Herblore was in the 20's when I started RS2, all I remember is making a LOT of super attacks from 45 to close to 60, which is still lasting me today. Went to the brimhaven agility arena until 60-ish agility, rest was a combination of wild/ape atoll. Runecrafting is probably my weakest skill, only 54. Cosmics from 27 to 44, natures from then on. I threw in some ZMI from 53-54. Been fletching willow longbows as long as I can remember, until 70 fletching, then yew longs to 89. Achieved 43 prayer from the One Small Favour reward (was in the high 30's when I started RS2), then used the ectofunctus to 52. 52 - 70 was mostly gilded altar. Since the mid 40s to 55 crafting, I used hardleather (strange for p2p I guess). I made a lot of gold jewelry to get to 63. When hunter first came out I hated it, but after about a month I tried it again, and fell in love with it. Went from 1-63 in probably 2 days, hunting every new creature I could when I unlocked them. I tried to get 99, but realized hunting chinchompas was very boring and gave up at 68 : That's pretty much all I remember, though I vaguely remember training thieving/making money at the silk stall in classic... Note: those don't reflect my actual stats now ;)

At first I was a fairly active member of Runevillage. After like, 6 months I became inactive for some reason (probably due to temporary inactivity from Runescape). Later, Mrpez wanted me to join TipIt so I did. I ended up liking TipIt more because Runevillage forums were very slow (sometimes waited a day to get a response on a thread), and I generally just like TipIt's layout more. But still miss Runevillage's community.

New update agaisnt people with less rl money
Tim_Finch replied to 999134's topic in General Discussion
How is this different than the advantages people already have because they are richer in real life? People buy broadband with real life money - Better connection - easier BH People buy a laser mouse with real life money - Accurate mouse - easier BH People buy members with real life money - self explanitory I don't think 1-2 squares is worth inducing the economy with down syndrome by allowing RWT. -
Directions To A New Place

Mining, Smithing, and Fishing are clearly your weak areas. Work on those to at least 60 or so and you have a decent, well balanced character. -
The Bank Of Skully. (100m)
Tim_Finch replied to Skully's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
What did you do double a the dfs a few times and make all items max in ge? First off, the runes and pots added up to roughly 20m, the real noticable stuff such as the bolts, barrows, dfs, cannon, cannonballs, sara sword, boots, robin and such were around 53m. There were also the doubles of all the fremmenik rings and dragon items, those would add on around 7m (the rings are over 5m alone). We're at 80m now, put on the 12m cash and that's 92m. So we're at 92m and we still haven't added up the smaller stuff most people wouldn't look at much such as logs, ores, and gems. And I don't think putting everything at max would make a terrible difference. I don't remember the exact numbers, as I divided it up into sections and such, but that's a good estimate. EDIT: A few things I forgot to pop in there, such as the mages book, over 3m, the infinity boots, over 800k, mud stuff, around 600k, fury, over 3m, whip, about 1.5m, the sceptre, 500k, and black mask, around 700k. So add on about 10m to what I said before. As for the runes, they're probably like 5m cheaper, but it still adds up close to 100m. -
The Bank Of Skully. (100m)

To the other whiners: I added up every item in his bank, got just about 100m on the nose. -

You are an inspiration to organization. I fail to see the useless items the others are talking about :| I'll give it a 9/10. -
rate my pure stats and bank ?
Tim_Finch replied to RUNESCAPEfantasy's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
2/10 No fishing or cooking; most member skills untrained; only two 50 non-combats, rest are painfully low; and your quests points are excruciating. I like your range though. -
My skiller

I respect your opinion, but it's not necessary to discriminate our opinions. They're our opinions, not an object that can be moulded by the community. -
Rate this amazing barrows drop!!
Tim_Finch replied to JRD111's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Well, the kc did exactly what it was supposed to do, give you lots of runes, and you did ;) But yeah, like everybody will tell you, high kc has no effect on barrows drops. 4/10 i guess.
