Rapono
so yesterday my bud sent me a message asking me how i had trained my runecrafting. my first respones was that i had no clue that i had trained runecrafting. he told me that i lvl was high (34) and that he was interested in starting runecrafting. my final response was that i havent runecrafted in years and i had no idea how i got my level. then i started to look at my other skills.... 62 smithing 60 fishin 59 cookin 49 fire makin and 52 crafting. all of these skills i honeslty have no clue how i achieved. did i make alot of iron bars? maybe....... how many leather chaps did you craft? heck if i know.......... and then i got to thinkg about what my current goal is, 99 ranged. i can tell you what happend from about level 55 to 80 (my current). but before 55 range, i have no clue what i did. so basicaly my question is this......... How much of your runescape carrer do you remeber?

highlanders
Nice topic I don't remember anything. I played since end of 2001, and it's been such a long time that's it's scary. That's 6.5 years. Why have I been playing for so long? I've got vagues ideas of how I trained my melee stats, which is not so bad. I remember ranging at the fenced ogres until 70, then 80+ just happened with normal training. Prayer got to 50 - how I don't know, and I paid 50-64, then 64-70. Magic is the skill I'm most clueless about, I never intentionally trained it, that I know, it just happened, it's 87 now. 70 RC, it's recent, just nats and ZMI. Construction oak larders till 68. Agility is 73, all I remember is that I used to go to the agility arena when I bored so that's what did it. I got 40-ish herblore for legends, then it got to 66 somehow. In Rsc some random theiving to 70, then PP till 88. Crafting is 74 - I remember vaguely crafting leather into coifs. 99 fletch, I don't know what happened before 90, 90-99 was intentional. 74 slayer - no idea, slaying I guess. 69 hunter, kebbits. 74 mining - almost all in RSC, and I don't remember how. 94 fishing because I fished like 20k sharks for a partyhat back in time. 99 cooking, before 92 I don't know what happened, 92-99 was intentional. 75 FM - no idea. 82 WC - I remember cutting maples when I was bored. 72 farming was intentional. Erf long paragraph that nobodys going to read >.< 2480+ total
Tim_Finch
I know I will never remember how I trained in classic, even though those were the funnest times I've trained in -.- I've played classic from 2002 to mid-2005 or so, so that's 3 years of not remembering how I trained. I still remember some stuff from when I started RS2: When I started I became obsessed with range, and got from 25 to 50 in a few days (that's right, I had 25 range after 3 years of classic) starting on barbarians, and moving on to mountain dwarves. Melee wise, I always used a Dragon Battleaxe at rock crabs, until I had 70 in all combat stats. From then on, it was almost always slayer. Went from 40-50 smithing by smelting/smithing steel bars so I could do legends. Got to probably 60 fishing by fishing lobsters, about 200-300 of them a day, then began to fly-fish. Herblore was in the 20's when I started RS2, all I remember is making a LOT of super attacks from 45 to close to 60, which is still lasting me today. Went to the brimhaven agility arena until 60-ish agility, rest was a combination of wild/ape atoll. Runecrafting is probably my weakest skill, only 54. Cosmics from 27 to 44, natures from then on. I threw in some ZMI from 53-54. Been fletching willow longbows as long as I can remember, until 70 fletching, then yew longs to 89. Achieved 43 prayer from the One Small Favour reward (was in the high 30's when I started RS2), then used the ectofunctus to 52. 52 - 70 was mostly gilded altar. Since the mid 40s to 55 crafting, I used hardleather (strange for p2p I guess). I made a lot of gold jewelry to get to 63. When hunter first came out I hated it, but after about a month I tried it again, and fell in love with it. Went from 1-63 in probably 2 days, hunting every new creature I could when I unlocked them. I tried to get 99, but realized hunting chinchompas was very boring and gave up at 68 : That's pretty much all I remember, though I vaguely remember training thieving/making money at the silk stall in classic... Note: those don't reflect my actual stats now ;)
MicroLegionnaire
Quite a bit actually! I remember when I got my first level up (Woodcutting, Tutorial Island) many years back. gonpost
This should entertain you guys. An in-depth account into the life of a lvl 134's history of training. I find it strange that you could forget. Just walk around runescape and memories should pop up! I've been playing for 6 years as of this August, and I can remember basically how I trained every skill...I'll give a combat example. I'll just tell me melee story. I remember training mage and range just as well as I remember what I'll describe below, btw. My first few combat levels were all gotten around lumbridge. I remember hacking away at goblins, wondering if it was possible to hit anything higher than a 1. I soon found out that you could. I made my way across runescape after this, finding out about and loving mining and smithing. I trained in full iron (I was very proud of myself for getting that), and made my way to the goblins north of falador, where the goblin generals are. I fought them until I could finally wear steel armor. I remember how much better steel armor was! I was in heaven. Eventually, a quest (I forget which) required me to get blurite. I began to do it and discovered the amazingness that was the ice giant and ice warrior dungeon (where wyverns are now too) way south of falador. I got to mine a few blurite ores before I was killed by an ice giant, but I knew that would happen so I only brought a pick and died with the 2 ores on me. That was all that I needed. So after finding that dungeon, I went back with my steel armor and killed the pirates there. I killed pirates by cooking chicken on the farm just south of falador, and then going south to fight the pirates. When I ran out of food, I went back to the farm and killed more chickens for food and came right back. I went all the way from steel to addy armor by killing pirates. After that, I did a lot of other skills. I got some combat exp here and there... I killed several giants in the edgeville dungeon by using the key shortcut. I eventually got up to wearing rune. I was able to afford it because I mined a lot of coal in the mean time, which was my sole source of income. I remember how awesome it was to finally be wearing full rune with a purple cape. Not much later, fate brought me to discover lesser demons on karamja. I killed a LOT of those. My routine was to fish a load of lobsters at the docks, cook them, and then go fight lessers. I'd bank whatever my loot was, and then repeat several times. I killed enough lessers that I got about 400k in cash and about 500k in rune meds from them (I was freaking rich). I used that money to buy an entire mask set. I'm extremely glad that I did buy that mask set back then lol, even though it was almost all of my money. After that, I didn't train combat for a very long time. I was around 89 combat when I stopped. That was when rs2 came out as well. I remember my combat level got boosted a bit because of the new system. After rs2 came out, I trained my combat at a whole bunch of different places up until I was lvl 111. I trained at daganoths when they came out for a while, tried fire giants under baxtorian, etc. At this point, I decided it was time to sell a white phat that I had bought back in rsc. I bought a white phat for 4 mil shortly after the dupe. I'm part of the reason why it's the second most expensive phat actually, haha. Myself and a few others purposefully drove up the demand for white phats on W2 north of varrock by buying all at the same time, and by buying for what the merchants knew was a slightly inflated price. Back then, this was enough to give white hats the second place price. Anywho, I eventually sold this white phat for 254M. I'd also sold my mask set a while ago for 30 something mil. I decided it was time I spent some serious cash on a skill. The main reason was that POHs just came out, and so did the gilded altars. I got 80 construction and built myself a GREAT house (still is great). I then bought all the dragon bones (3k each) and marrentill I needed for 99 prayer for 100M. Getting 99 prayer brought me up to 114 combat. From there, I finally discovered how amazing slayer was. I REALLY wish now that I had actually done the skill when it came out instead of waiting so long... Anyway, I've done slayer off and on for the last 2 years and now I'm at 134 combat, all through slayer. I'm now 98 slayer (900k away from 99!), and I plan on getting 99 within the next 2 weeks. So that's my story of melee. I could recite about 90% of my range history and about 75% of my magic history. As far as my individual skills go, I'd say I remember about half of them entirely, and the other half I remember MOST of what I did for the levels. Anyway, thanks for making this topic. I've needed to briefly document some of my history somewhere, hehe. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.
blakdragon39
Yay I'm bored! Time to go through all my skills and see what I remember. :) Attack - I trained on goblins at really low levels, because they dropped money! And I wanted that money. I remember meeting someone, and he and I would get food together, and then kill goblins together, to make money off the goblins. A lot of my levels came from Slayer however, as that's my favourite skill. :) Strength - I remember figuring out how to change from training attack to training strength. I think thats about the time I started getting Strength levels. Since then, it's been things that I needed to kill, or felt like killing, or training Slayer. Defence - Same as above really. Range - I don't remember any of my early levels, but a lot of them have come from either Slayer, or killing Blue Dragons for their hides and bones. Prayer - I always buried all my bones in my early days, and I remember killing Hill Giants to finally be able to get into the Prayer Guild! Magic - I don't really remember. For the most part, I've never really tried to get magic levels until recently, as I want 83 eventually. Much of it probably came from Superheating ores, and High Alching the things I smithed from that, or the things I Fletched. Runecrafting - Don't remember any early levels really, cept making my own minds and airs sometimes. I've crafted Natures and stuff for money though. Construction - Mostly Oak Larders, like everyone else. All my early levels mostly came from larders before oak. Hitpoints - Never actually tried to train it, just happened with everything else. Agility - I remember doing the Gnome Course many a time, and being excited to get to move on to other courses like the Wildy Course. Herblore - Can't remember how I've trained this really. Mostly herbs from Farming and Slayer I'm sure. Thieving - Hmm... I remember trying to get to the level where I could pickpocket Master Farmers, mostly in Ardougne I think, Cake and Silk stalls and whatnot. Since then it's been mostly Master Farmers and the Wine Stall in Draynor, and for only a few very recent levels, Pyramid Plunder. Crafting - I made a LOT of Hardleather Bodies in f2p. I spent lots of time killing cows to get hides, and I spent a lot of money to get hides also. I tanned almost all of them on my own I think. I've done some Green and Blue Dragonhides in p2p also. Fletching - I often cut normal trees and made them into arrow shafts, in Catherby while I was farming. Made a lot of Willows into unfinished bows, and bought Yews and Bowstrings (sometimes flax), to make into bows to alch. Slayer - I don't remember the specifics of this skill, but I remember being really excited to start this skill, and then it being the best skill ever, and I still love it. :XD: Hunter - Started training it the day it came out, but found it awfully boring. I stopped for the longest time, until I made it my goal to get all skills to 60+. I caught a lot of Salamanders, and now with my goal to get 70+ skills, I've got even more Salamanders until I could catch Red Chins, and thats all I've caught up to this point. Mining - Was my favourite skill until I got members. I mined coal to sell, a lot of the time. In my early days, I mined stuff, smithed it into armour at Doraks (or whatever his name is), and sold to the general store, or a nearby specialty store if there was one. I powermined from 79 I think, until 85 for Runite. Since then, I've mined Rune, and Superheated a lot of Mithril Bars in the Mining Guild. Smithing - Same as above! Fishing - Fished a lot of Lobsters in f2p, often for money, as I didn't train combat much then. In members, I fish for all of my food, and that's where most of these levels have come from. Cooking - Never tried to get a cooking level before really. In f2p I tried hand-baking pies, by gathering my own wheat and turning it into flower, making the pastry and what-not. I sold them to the general store then for money, all while using the old Cooking Guild. :XD: Firemaking - Can't remember really. Recent levels have mostly been my MTK Maples. Woodcutting - I remember going for the Woodcutting level to be able to cut Yews, as everyone thought it was the ultimate money maker back in f2p. I cut Yews for a long time after that for my money. In p2p I've cut Yews and Magics for money, and to train my Fletching. I'm cutting Yews while I'm in f2p again for a while actually, to raise my fletching and woodcutting. :XD: Farming - Can't remember too much really. I remember planting Ranarrs for money, and buying Watermelon seeds more recently to train it. I've also bought Snap seeds to make into Super Restores once I had the level to do that, and made some money off of them. Used most of my tree seeds from MTK too. Summoning - Haha umm... followed the guide on the tip.it site I think, for my earliest levels right after I finished the quest. Made a lot of those Rocks Crabs I think, as Iron was easy for me to get. Magpies with my gold rings that were sitting around from MTK, and Spirit Terrorbirds, as they were pretty easy to make, and are quite useful. I really just want 68 for Bunyips, and then eventually 70 for my all-skills-70+ goal.
Zierro
I remember my first day of Runescape. My brother told me that you are safe in towns, but if you leave a town then other players can kill you. I finished Tutorial Island and was teleported to Lumbridge. I saw people killing Lv 2 Men and I didn't know they were NPC's, so I yelled at my brother and said, "I thought you said I was safe in the towns! I just saw like five people die!" Then I ran to a building for safety and logged out.

Hilramorre
I started playing during the beta of RSC so there's a lot to remember but, I do remember a fair bit. First off, my first character was banned, for two things I never did. But I'll just spout out some random memories of mine: I remember the first time I played and not knowing how to talk to NPCs. I remember looking at the hatchet shop, seeing a mith hatchet and thinking "oh no, how am I going to save up 3,000 coins for that!?" I remember the chicken quest in the haunted house south of the barbarian village, that was a fun time. In fact, I remember almost all the quests I did. Dragon Slayer was a fun one, I remember dieing the first time I tried it, going on a tirade, quitting for a week, then coming back and beating it. As one other fellow said, I remember fishing a load of lobs (or tuna and swordies) and killing lesser demons for hours on end. Seemed most people did that back then. Heck, I remember when members was first introduced. Most of all, I remember my clan 'the' clan. Had some great times with those guys, fun PK trips and wars. Then after taking a break for a couple months, I find my account banned and deleted. After a few years I finally came back, used an old side character and am back up to where I am now. 999134
ive been playing a lot longer than my stats would suggest right back into early classic with 109991 and i've never really trained on one thing (low attention span ftw) and spent most of my time making stupid collection etc (i got 10 of each phat just for the fun of it and \ ) but i remember first doing dragon slayer in steel armour and a rune mace (had decided i wouldn't wear anything i didnt make myself lol ) and training quite a bit on those rats under varrock and being very proud when i could 1 hit them Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]
Master_Smither
I remember I mined coal and iron and made steel bars and sold for my mining/smithing for Full Zammy which was 3.2M back then. Combat was well Moss Giants for the bones for 43 Prayer. I don't remember much of the rest. I ranged Chickens/goblins back in f2p. :) I also did some combat while going for Skull thing in the Stronghold. starmily
There are some skills (crafting, range, cooking) for which I have no recollection of how I got the levels I have. Some skills I wanted and deliberately worked on (like prayer). Others (most!) I seem to have randomly trained. Perhaps this is why my total level is only 1185. Here's what I do remember: PRAYER When I first got members, I wanted 43 prayer. I did the quests required to use Ectofuntus, killed tons of Moss Giants, and bought buckets of slime from the traders in Port Phasmatys. Very tedious. I have gained a few levels since then, just from burying big bones when I get them. Getting a rune defender helped with that. MAGIC I have no idea how I got the first few levels, though I do remember maging cows and then the level 7 wizards south of Varrock so I would get runes as drops. After that it was Falador teleport until I could do Camelot teleport, then Camelot until 55. I was VERY fortunate to have a friend who was crafting laws at the time and shared with me. Other than random teleporting and enchanting jewelry, all mage xp since then has come from high alching. ATTACK, STRENGTH, DEFENSE, HP I do remember a lot of time in the goblin house in Lumbridge and the rats in Lumbridge swamp. I also killed an awful lot of Moss Giants to get bones for prayer. Now I mostly train through slayer, though I spent a lot of time at red spiders when I was working on 70 defense. MINING AND SMITHING Mining and smithing were the first skills I worked on. I started in Lumbridge mining copper and tin. I eventually moved to Al-Kharid and then to Falador to mine iron and then later coal. I made most of my money in the beginning by selling steel bars. I haven't done any of either since my first six months of play. THIEVING I started with the tea stall in Varrock and stayed there a long time. Eventually I moved on to Ardougne for cakes and later, silk. AGILITY I have no idea. I did a little bit of the course in the gnome stronghold. I suspect most of my xp (level 43) has come from quests -- I hate training it and really haven't done much of it. FISHING My fishing level moved up without much notice because I fished to eat in the beginning. I noticed things really sped up when I started fly fishing trout (and eventually salmon) at Barbarian Village. I mostly fish lobsters now or swordfish and tuna, but got my last 2 levels at Shilo. FIREMAKING I have level 38 entirely from making cooking fires in F2P. I haven't trained it since. WOODCUTTING All of my xp was from randomly cutting trees to make fires until I wanted to do Fremmenik Trials. Then I had to spend several hours at Draynor cutting willows. RUNECRAFTING This was very low until I decided I wanted to craft nats. I had sporadically trained it just to supply myself with runes to train magic (air, water, earth, fire, minds). Once I decided I wanted to train it, I used dueling rings and crafted fires. Now I just make nats. FLETCHING I had made arrows on my own just to try out the skill and got to about level 18. I then was hanging out with a friend who fletched a lot (he later got the cape) and I just kinda fletched along with him. I think I got to 44 or so in a few days of hanging out with him. He got a cape and moved on to a new skill. I haven't fletched since.
