  1. Just because prices have decreased suddenly doesn't mean there's deflation and it certainly doesn't automatically imply that they MUST all rise again soon. For deflation, you need ALL prices to fall, and fall at a sustained rate. Even then, why would they suddenly increase again? There is no cycle of inflation following deflation. That's just your baseless speculation. We already have figured out what the cause of the fall in price is here, so you're absolutely incorrect Well thanks a lot for making me feel like a jerk! Thanks a lot now I will be a jerk Yeah Noob! (Sorry for the spam he just majorly ticked me off) It's nothing personal, if I believe someone's theory is incorrect I will argue. Keep the senseless insults out of this, especially the "n" word  . Well obviously you are completely biased against merchants. That makes your already baseless argument lose any credibility. You have no proof, no explanation to support your reasoning. It seems like, to you, any change in price is a merchant's fault. Indeed, however the same thing that caused the cheap armor has also made phats rise . I'm worried that it will be beyond my reach sooner than i had predicted. Then there's also the people who supply the barrows. They lose out here.

  3. Barrows merchants alter neither the supply nor the demand of barrows items. Therefore they are not responsible for this.
  4. Ok well at least I demonstrated it. (It has to increase by more than one's income increases by the way. I don't want people to confuse that with a normal good that just increases as income increases) Glad to see you figured that out as well and sorry i overlooked it. : Well the problem is that those people then just assume that ANY change in price of ANY random good = inflation. :wall:
  5. Obviously, the change in price of barrows sets can be either one of two things. Decrease of demand, or increase in supply. Things such as substitute goods are all determinants. In this case, it's pretty safe to assume that this was a decrease in demand. Now for the more interesting question: what's the effect on phats? It can be demonstrated economically: Phats is a luxury good. For a good to be a luxury good it means that, for example, if someone's income rises by two, the quantity consumed of that luxery good will increase by more than two. In other words these are goods that we buy more if (proportional to our income) if our income increases. The godwars dungeon has caused many people's income to substantially increase therefore they will buy more luxury goods and therefore, since phats are luxury goods, more phats will be bought. Since the demand for phats increases, they will rise in price. A couple of you mentioned this already, but what hasn't been said yet is that this applies to all goods that can be qualified as "luxury goods" which but is not only limited to rare items. As for these inflation theories. I do not see where people are getting those ideas. If you want to prove inflation is occurring right now, you need to know the price index, or price of all goods in the economy and see by how much it is increasing.
  6. I didn't think I'd end up making a post like that, but looks like someone wants to debate my post, and someone made another crack inflation theory. For some reason, I absolutely hate it when people just think of runescape and try and connect it IN ANY WAY to the great depression. There are always tons of things wrong. But obviously, the prove this argument wrong, i don't even need to go that far. Basically, you're completely wrong in thinking that this is, in any way shape or form, causing inflation The autoers is causing a decrease in price Inflation is defined as a sustained increase in price of all goods Absolutely incorrect. In runescape, "living" requires no items, no quests, no skills, nothing. Therefore the cost of basic living is 0. Those examples are all additional costs to do a certain activity, or obtain a certain item. None of these activities or items are required to "live". now this just doesn't make sense at all. I tell you that capital doesn't depreciate, and you tell me some random info about the price of flax? The price of flax has nothing to do with capital. Come back when you know what capital is and then I'll consider your argument. Looks like you assumed I meant "all goods are infinite", I'm not careless enough to say something as stupid as that. I said that they are all infinitely replenishing, meaning that, for example, if you mine coal it will always come back. However, it takes time to extract this resource and since it doesn't satisfy everyone's needs at any time, it is a scare resource. Does that mean it is impossible for new players to surpass these barriers? absolutely not. I said they can be achieved be anyone. I didn't say anything about the difficulty. Same idea as the first post. Pking and repairing barrows, or recharging crystal items are not required for living. They are merely options that people can choose not to do.
  7. and so a man considered committing suicide because he shaved his butt hair. Words fail me.
  8. luring and scammin is different thing. IDIOT Watch your facts before you call someone an idiot. Luring falls under the category of "item scamming" FYI.
  9. It's possible the different requirements could be referring to a quest. It would be a bit big but I wouldn't discount the possibility. I just hope that the people capable of beating these mith dragons is limited enough. I also am wondering about the dragon itself, more than what it takes to get to it.
  10. Listening to music doesn't diminish the playing experience. But you're just blaming one of the best things about runescape. The fact that you can play the game and watch a movie, that's two awesome experiences in one. Can't do that in WoW, there you're obliged to sit through all of the tedious grinding. I watch movies or read mangas while I play and occasionally I have IRC up as well. Right now I'm watching the fifth season of 24 as I train hunter
  11. hehe, thanks for that. I sort of "accidentally" sliced the thing behind the sign to find him sitting there.
  12. Why does the judge have to be society's legalities? Especially in different countries and different cultures will have different legal ages. I think adulthood starts when you leave home for college (or around that age, for people who don't leave and/or don't go to college). College undergrads are considered "men" and "women" after all. So I think it starts at 18. I don't think drinking alcohol should be the decisive factor.
  13. The jokes do get annoying after a while. But people who complain about the use of the jokes are even more annoying. Just let it go, why do we need to debate if the jokes are funny or not?
  14. merchants are not scammers in any way, shape or form. Merchants provide an important service: convenience. Basically, when you are selling goods it takes an undetermined amount of time. Merchants will take all your goods for a slightly lower price, or give you an offer much faster meaning you don't have to sit through the annoying waiting. In a way, the merchants do the boring waiting for you therefore providing the service. Their payment, if you like, is based on the profit they make. That's the general idea behind merchanting. There's no deception because both parties agree on one price and that price is maintained so merchants are only people offering a much demanded service. No connection with scamming at all. Although people think merchants are immoral and deceptive they are just wrong. Often merchants are confused with price manipulators. Price manipulation is an organized attempt aimed at artificially changing the price of a good. Merchants do not change the price of a good, they simply buy from people who want to sell quickly and sell to people who want to buy quickly (and who, of course, agree on the price) Another misconception is blaming merchants for a change in price. Now this is just ignorance. Merchants influence neither the supply or the demand for a product. They simply use the price range But he's not lying about his price. He is only lying about his intentions. Scamming is when he says he buys for x price buy instead he wants to buy for another price and, by switching amounts or other methods, he tricks the person into thinking they bought for x price. This whole issue is controversial, but not at all scamming (or at least not in the context that we know) because both parties agree on THE SAME PRICE. They can do whatever the hell they want with the stuff after they make it, they are not obliged to give reasons. The only person who's to blame is the seller for his ignorance. The merchants simply have valuable information on their side. And those who try to keep this method secret know the value of this information
  15. Brilliant game!! In fact I'm playing it right now. Getting near the temple at great bay as a matter of fact. I messed up a few side quests. Went back to day 1 before my gilded sword was completed meaning I had to get the gold powder all again (happened twice, thank god I love goron racing), got Romani abducted twice because I underestimate the stupid poe that sneaks around the back. So after a while I fixed all of that (although I didn't mind having to beat the mechanical goat-thingy over and over again. That fight was just awesome. I disagree. Not that Ocarina of Time was less, not at all in fact (it's one of the greatest games ever created IMO). But I think that Majora's Mask has a lot to offer and probably different things to offer First of all the difficulty curve is much higher and steeper in Majora's mask. Not only it's a hard game overall, but even the beginning is pretty tricky. So it's quite a challenge, the 3 day limit really makes you think a lot. Second, there's a lot more deeper story than in Ocarina of time, and it's very dark. Ocarina of Time does, however, have a more "epic" feel to it since this is kind of the beginning and how Ganon became the ultimate arch-nemisis in the first place. It's got more dungeons with different atmospheres (spirit temple just rules), and the whole adult/child thing makes it a very special game. Plus, it's got all the different kinds of places and lots of great side-quests to do. I think both games are excellent in different ways. And both give you the same kinds of characters (in this case almost mirror images of the characters like Malon for Romani/Cremia) as well as very different aspects to play around with. They go together quite well, so I would definitely recommend both as a pair.
  16. I'd hardly classify all skillers as lower levels. 91 rc for example is, believe it or not, a high level achievement and it's being screwed around by the autoers problem. Not every high level player uses combat for cash. Then there's more than sharks, there's green d hides, (maybe even d bones), yews, nats however you are correct in saying sharks do fluctuate the most. PS: firefox tells me that there's one s in resource
  17. wrong forum, and you can just look at the guide on the main site
  18. try 1 mill  these are very arbitrary. Cannot be used to determine the best moneymaking skill since there are some very good methods that don't do much for exp. They are also quite misleading as there is no time frame included.
  19. that quote speaks the truth. I've gone on a long hard journey for just reaching a destination and then realizing that it wasn't the destination that I wanted but the journey.
  20. I thought it was clear from the achievement diaries that Jagex spends weeks doing what they call balance which is making sure things fit in the game. Look at the dragon axe, at first it didn't have any difference. Did they forget to make it better or just expect it to be used as a weapon? Or perhaps, and far more likely, they knew what serious impact this could have on the game, and easily make it unbalanced if they were not careful. Eventually they made it wc a bit faster, but only a bit. It's not remarkably faster and that's probably because that would mean completely screwing over how logs are obtained. Same goes for mining, although mining is even harder. What are all these ridiculous speculations of mining multiple ores at once? that effectively cuts the price of ALL ores in half, as well as this pickaxe being ridiculously expensive. Expect the same you get from the dragon axe really but yes I hope they do release it for two reasons First of all, monster hunting just rules, greatest form of PVM ftw! Another extremely dangerous monster in a crazy dungeon filled with trecherous monsters? Count me in! This is what RPGs are all about! Second of all, faster mining even if it would be slight is great.
  21. Sorry but that's how it should be anyways. I have to pay myself, maintain above average grades (in advanced classes ) and overall keep my act together to keep my membership. Someone shouldn't get membership if it causes a lack in grades/study time. And I think the trial should end in 6 months. I'm tired of seeing "f2p fo lyfe!" and "im f2p, I play in hard mode and members are just lazy noobs." I've seen this several times in game and even on these forums :-# . F2p shouldn't be treated specially and think they should be treated specially. NOTE:I know all f2pers arn't like this. I'm just saying A LOT of them are. Ok first of all, don't get me wrong I am not saying that parents are too strict when not allowing their child membership. I was just saying that that is main reason why some people don't get membership. I do, in fact, perfectly understand how some parents wouldn't want their kids doing this. MMORPGs have the tendency to consume your time more than any other styles of games, as well as "trust a random company with your credit card number" thing. It's quite reasonable for a parent to just say "I don't want you playing this game even more than you do now" and I wouldn't be surprised if others have heard that one. Anyways this is, or at least I think this is, the main reason why some f2pers don't get membership. second of all, about the whole "proud to be f2p" sure, they are showing a remarkable amount of self control, that's good but it crosses the line when they show jealously towards members and say "members are people who waste their money, what idiots" or stuff like that. You could start by actually coming up with some decent arguments to respond to pretty much everyone else who is telling you what the problems are with this horrible idea.
  22. um yea it will get nerfed, can you say dragon scimmy, i mean abby whip, no wait i mean mage short bow, dah! i mean maul, wait which one is it? oh yea all of em :wall: The point is that they think it gets nerfed because they assume and speculate based on probability which is just stupid. All of the above had an arbitrary nerfing so the effects were all clearly shown. Besides, this isn't about those other weapons and whether or not they deserved to be nerfed this is about whether or not the dark bow has ben nerfed.
  23. Yes, as a matter of fact I think playing the game the correct way is actually more fun than just getting pleasure from annoying people. "no-fun" is a matter of opinion, strategy and tactics are incredible when you see it work, far more than "lol, i pissed off the other team, i'm such a badass". I find our activities most immature and not so much "playfull" since you're not trying to play around your goal is to see how far you can get on the nerves of everyone, the same way idiots kill people's pickpocketing targets. We don't need someone like that around. On a more general note I've met some very decent people playing trouble brewing and we often work together. In general, there are more "decent" people than immature idiots, which is good.
  24. Don't get me wrong, I get the fun AND the reward, water buckets >;D Of course sabbotage is my favorite activity, but I get working when I see the other team could win, since I love competitition(crushing the competition that is >;D) That's the absolute bare minimum reward. This game isn't a Mongolian attack where you go out and burn stuff, you're supposed to make rum and you can't make rum with both teams are at each other's throats. I've played games where we get as high as 20 bottles of rum. 140 PoE! It only works because there's no sabotage. That's far more fun than some immature firefights. It's the other team that has to rebuild, so of course if you see me on the other team, you better join my team or your up for some repairing :XD: Of course the other team could try to have a vengence, but if everyone of our team sabotages, the other team will be desperate, and they won't have any more wood to fix things. :XD: I would call that completely ruined. There we go, both teams just want to burn each other up. Perfect lose-lose situation. Where's the strategy? Where's the teamwork? That's truely pathetic for people who actually want to make rum. So, like I said, you would make the worst teammate and also the most annoying opponent. That being said you could obviously argue how "oh well that's how i have fun", well so be it. Plenty of people like that around anyways.
  25. when someone asks a stupid question or something like that it's pretty much an invitation for sarcasm. The IQ of scapers also plays against us here too, if any of you remember the time on the RSOF when sarcasm was some popular trend on rants forum, a bunch of people tried making sarcastic rants and failed miserably (what they wrote was just completely inconsistent and made no sense, wasn't sarcasm). It got to the point where you were pretty much not allowed to make sarcastic rants.
